Even though I've always liked the album version of Songbird, the demo version actually songs more developed and like a complete song. Kinda strange... I actually think that demo was recorded later than studio version but was rejected because of Liam's voice and poor production. My theory - studio version is the first recording of a song (probably that one that was on demos CD Noel'd shown on album documentary), mostly because Liam sounded much better and fresh comparing to other songs' vocals (that were probably recorded much later as Liam was fucking awful and lazy). Demo sounds like it was recorded just two days before album release tbh I did not know this! What you said definitely clarifies why one sounds more developed than the other.

One of the 'forgotten' Oasis songs I actually quite like is Who Put The Weight of the World On My Shoulders. One of the more heartfelt and honest tunes from latter Oasis I think. Rarely mentioned here, I suspect it's because quite a few think it's a bit boring (comparable to Sunday Morning Call in its vibe) and add to the fact it was part of that shite film Goal. But aside from a naff soundtrack release (that isn't available on Spotify or iTunes and fuck the idea of going out and buying the damn thing), it has never been given an official release. But I think it's a decent tune and deserves a higher pedestal than the other dull dreck they released around that time. I love this song but I haven't listened to it for a long time. Also, the Goal soundtrack has a good version of Cast No Shadow on it too. It's not as good as the original Morning Glory version though.

Slide Away isn't a bad song but it just goes on a bit and it would have been better if the ending was shorter. I often wonder what the demo version was like and if it was any shorter than the album version.

I could be wrong but I think Noel once said the demo was a bit too much and sounded a lot like I Should Have Known Better, so they went with a simple arrangement for the final version

It's twelve years ago today since Oasis's final album Dig Out Your Soul was released. It doesn't seem that long at all.

I haven't listened to Dig Out Your Soul for ages to be honest. As for The Nature Of Reality it must be the worst track on the album.

TNOR shit track but I have to say I love the instrumental version, it sounds awesome and way more interesting, it transforms the song to somenthing else entirely without those stupid lyrics that Andy wrote in five minutes cos Noel wanted it on the album.

First time hearing Oasis. These twins got a lot of press in July for their reaction to Phil Collins. They are honest in their response to hearing new songs, and they comment on the energy of Wonderwall. They'd like to hear it in a car.

There's quite a few of those First time hearing accounts out there, a good few Oasis ones. Remember someone loving Supersonic.

Excellent version of a great song and one of Oasis's best.

Can anyone on here play the first na-na-na (guitar solo) melody from All Around the World on electric guitar? Would be very helpful I can do this for you but I only have the acoustic I just listened to Be Here Now - I'm sorry my friend, but no edits could make it better for me. I was 16 when it was released. summer '97. We had Setting Sun a year before. the single was mental. the b-sides were still UP THERE how much pressure Noel had - it's fucking insane. about Magic Pie. I love the chorus. just SCRAP the words Magie pie. (and it's the title, how mad) just makes this up: cos you say I could never let it fly think of you on the settee, yeah I was the passer by I've been and now I've gone* *Edit - Rolo, give it a try play around with the words just scrap magic pie from the universe

She's electric is a great song. It's not a masterpiece but it's perfect for what it is: a pop song. Everything is perfect, melodies, chords progression, liam's voice, noel's harmonies, production.. What a song!

It doesn't get much better than Sad Song's chorus.

It's 26 years ago today since the Cigarettes And Alcohol single was released. Of course that single features two great Oasis b.sides Listen Up and Fade Away. It's hard to believe that those songs will soon be 30 years old.
