How many times has Wonderwall been covered now by different artists? I would expect quite a few.

Oasis [may have] disbanded in 2009.
I’m still in the denial stage.

The best thing the Beatles did was give us Oasis. The Stone Roses gave us Oasis... As well as a little bit of The Smiths, some U2, some Sex Pistols & Stooges, some Burt Bacharach and Kinks, and some late-80s/early-90s Creation stuff, on top of the Beatles and Stones influences. To say that The Beatles, alone, gave us Oasis, is such a casual thing to say... Beady’s Here Now

I have never met anyone who dislikes Oasis.
Sure, some may think Oasis are overrated (they aren’t), that Liam’s snarl is somewhat whiny (it’s not), or that all Oasis do are rip off the Beatles (they don’t). But no one actually dislikes Oasis.

I'm sure I'm super slow on this, but the alternative version of Champagne Supernova on the WTSMG remaster, where does it come from? Who played on it?
EDIT: nevermind, that's Brendan Lynch's mix Still, bassline sounds different

Liam's 2006 voice is even worse than drunken Shaun Ryder shouting 'DAEEEAEEAERAE' during Gorillaz' song live

I’ll tell you what, over the last two years I hear a very heavy Slade influence in so many of Noel’s stompingly upbeat songs (Stay Young, Round Are Way, and Step Out, just to name a few). It’s totally there. I find it amazing that I’ve listened to Oasis for the last 25 years, and there’s still so much to uncover - this is due to being in different life stages. This goes for every band, and every song. I find it fascinating. (The medical marijuana helps too, but that’s a different topic lol).

Listened to Bag it Up today, had mixed thoughts. On the one hand, it's a good tune with lots of dynamics and it's great to have some post-2001 Oasis music that turns up the guitars and doesn't mind being noisy. But there's just something not quite there. The production is dry. Liam's vocals seem a bit thin. All the ingredients are there, but they don't add up to the raucous, ominous rock tune that they should do. Probably sums up a lot of DOYS, really. Funnily enough it came up on shuffle today and I had not listened to it in a long time I love it though, it's rock n roll but not massively cliched like a lot of Oasis later attempts at it Needed a better chorus maybe, but I'll take it as an album track, from Bag It Up to I'm Outta Time it's a pretty good run, sadly the second half of the record doesn't hold up as well

I think what hurts is that everything feels muddy, likely from Dave Sardy's production techniques. The guitars and drums start off really strong at the start of Bag it Up but once the chorus hits, it doesn't cut through like it should for some reason. I think someone like David Holmes would've done a better job executing the production better.

Cloudburst has always been one of my favourite Oasis b.sides from the Definitely Maybe era and I think it's up there with Listen Up, Half The World Away and D' Ya Wanna Be A Space Man from Oasis's early days.

They were separate loves which I only found out later were connected... a bit like finding out your current girlfriend knows your ex, but without the sweaty panic that brings. X

Even though I've always liked the album version of Songbird, the demo version actually songs more developed and like a complete song. Kinda strange...

One of the 'forgotten' Oasis songs I actually quite like is Who Put The Weight of the World On My Shoulders. One of the more heartfelt and honest tunes from latter Oasis I think.
Rarely mentioned here, I suspect it's because quite a few think it's a bit boring (comparable to Sunday Morning Call in its vibe) and add to the fact it was part of that shite film Goal. But aside from a naff soundtrack release (that isn't available on Spotify or iTunes and fuck the idea of going out and buying the damn thing), it has never been given an official release. But I think it's a decent tune and deserves a higher pedestal than the other dull dreck they released around that time.

I actually think that demo was recorded later than studio version but was rejected because of Liam's voice and poor production. My theory - studio version is the first recording of a song (probably that one that was on demos CD Noel'd shown on album documentary), mostly because Liam sounded much better and fresh comparing to other songs' vocals (that were probably recorded much later as Liam was fucking awful and lazy). Demo sounds like it was recorded just two days before album release tbh
