I love the GMex '97 concert and have it on bootleg cd and video which I bought back in '97. But years later I bought a dvd recorder and copied the video version on to dvd. It still remains one of my favourite Oasis bootlegs from the Be Here Now tour.

I always thought it was a bit odd they played the G-Mex, seeing as the Manchester Arena (Nynex / MEN) was bigger, but they played their previously and they don't really duplicate venues in the UK that much.
Wikipedia says 12,500 for standing gigs.
I saw Ian Brown there in 2007, must admit my first thought walking in was the Oasis gigs!

Quite ironic, and iconic, that Oasis biggest record and one of the best UK selling records of all times (nearly) opens with "we live in the shadows and we had the chance but threw it away"
Great opener and very underrated track

Oasis has been trending on twitter over here since Tuesday. at first it was because of Liam's tweets about Messi and today because of the split anniversary
it's also been commented on the news, sports or otherwise, and the music used in the background of every report linking Messi to Manchester City

MAGIc (where is the whole song?!!! OasisINET, you SLEEPING??) That's great early footage of the band. I'm sure this was included in the Definitely Maybe 10 years documentary. I haven't watched that for ages though.

It's 26 years ago today since Definitely Maybe was released. It's still a great album and one of Oasis's best ever albums.

I actually like Oasis's cover of Cum On Feel The Noize. It's probably one of their better cover versions.

The guitars in DYKWIM's bridge are beautiful. Bit hidden in all the confusion, but beautiful nonetheless.

Take the time to make some sense Of what you want to say And cast your words away upon the waves
And sail them home with acquiesce On a ship of hope today And as they land upon the shore Tell them not to fear no more Say it loud, and sing it proud today
And then dance if you wanna dance Please brother take a chance You know they're gonna go Which way they wanna go All we know is that we don't Know how it's gonna be Please brother let it be Life on the other hand Won't make us understand We're all part of the masterplan

Just watched this beaut of a gig
Oasis really were unstoppable in their prime. Fade Away is such a good tune, I can see the case for Noel and Liams versions, it can carry great youthful arrogance in their 20s and the weight of age in their 50s.

I still find it highly amusing that Noel called his 1990s Hampstead house ‘Supernova Heights.’ What’s more, he had the name as a banner over his front door!
Only coked up Noel would do something like that. 😂

I've always loved D' You Know What I Mean? And, it's probably Oasis's second best album opener after Rock N Roll Star.

I've always loved D' You Know What I Mean? And, it's probably Oasis's second best album opener after Rock N Roll Star. It's their second-best song after Half the World Away, for me. D' You Know What I Mean? will always be in my top 20 favourite Oasis songs. It's one of Oasis's greatest single releases too. And, I've always loved the video too.

Step Out has a lot of pitch correction? Up until reading your post five minutes ago, I didn’t realize there was a studio version of Step Out. For the last 20 years I’ve thought the only version we had was the Wembley 2000 performance. Had no idea this existed! 😳

Did you also know there's a studio version of DLBIA or did you assume the only version we had was the Liam accapella performance at Glastonbury?
