I quite like Thankyou for The Good Times. It's better than A Quick Peep and I'll never understand why that made it on to Heathen Chemistry.

Here's a hypothetical for everyone: Imagine you can go back and time and either see a gig from the Dig Out Your Soul Tour or see a gig from one of Liam's tours from the past three years. Which one would you go see? Do you commit to seeing the actual band before the break up or commit to seeing a Liam with rejuvenated vocal power? And you cannot necessarily pick a good gig from either scenario where the band is "on" or noel is "on" or Liam is "on." The gig you get is completely random.

Liam's touring gigs definitely carry more of an old-school Oasis feel than even the later-day Oasis gigs, but then again getting to see Oasis would be a cool thing to cross off the bucket list. So for overall quality, one of Liam's gigs would be best but for that cool factor of getting to see Oasis live with Liam and Noel sharing the stage, definitely one of the Oasis DOYS gigs (would suck if I got the cancelled August 23 V Festival gig )

This is gonna sound like a load of old wank, but when it's sang like this I could honestly cry at that line "she sniffs it through a cane on a supersonic train, and she made me laugh". Just feels so real, all those nights out and characters you get on the train at night, drug addicts and girls and personalities. She made me laugh, so I got her autograph. I know it's just summat Noel rhymed together on the spin, but it just strikes a chord for me.
Fast becoming perhaps my favourite Oasis song.

I think Supersonic is probably the perfect Oasis song to introduce non-fans into the band in seeing what they were really about. And as you say the lyrics although quickly done do relate to everyday life. "When she finds out, no one's gonna tell her what I'm on about" "You need to find a way for what you wanna say" Stuff like that.

Talking about Supersonic, I shouldn't say this, but as much as I prefer the original now, always have and probably always will, it was Noel's acoustic version that really made me appreciate it
Such a beautiful melody, nonsense lyrics but every line tells its own story

Supersonic is a great song and was the perfect song to be released as a debut single. The lyrics maybe nonsense but I think it sums up the song perfectly. It is and always will be one of my favourite Oasis songs and singles. I've always loved it.

Hmmm, I don't know about that as I think it's probably loved by most Oasis fans. It's a great song even if it does have nonsense lyrics in places. But I don't think it's a song to taken too seriously though. It's another single which would feature in my top 10 Oasis singles.

I'm gonna try and make my perfect D'You Know What I Mean, which theyknowwhatimean will be glad to know that I now consider to be closer to the original than the rethink. Started by getting the bass higher on the original, and it already sounds fucking unreal. Honestly, it's fantastic. Now need to find a way to add the strings...

My favourite Oasis single release is Live Forever. I've always loved that song and for me it has everything. If I had to choose my favourite top 5 Oasis singles they would be Live Forever Don't Look Back In Anger Supersonic D' You Know What I Mean Some Might Say

I feel a very deep connection with One Way Road. One of their best b-sides, but I'm glad it's not on the album, it fits more in the "small and unknown" kind of song. I love One Way Road. Infact it's probably my second favourite Oasis b.side after Let's All Make Believe from the 2000 decade. Agree, a very good song. Paul Weller did a great cover of it (that I actually prefer to the original). It was the theme tune to the Jack Dee sitcom Lead Balloon - giving Noel his second theme tune writing credit on a sitcom after The Royle Family!

Yeah, One Way Road is a tune and it's a shame that it's never talked about much. I've always liked it better than the b.sides on the Sunday Morning Call single.

Is Pete Townshend using the same guitar Noel smashed in Newcastle??
e. Actually nvm, there are quite a few differences after all so I doubt it is.

I've just been listening to Rock N Roll Star and it's still Oasis's best album opener for me. It's the perfect song for the band's dubet album opener. And, it's a great song, one of Oasis's best ever. It'll always be in my top ten Oasis songs.

What are the piano chords playing in the chorus of Stand By Me?

I was thinking today that it's 11 years ago this week since the Oasis split. It doesn't seem that long at all. At the time I was quite upset about it as I thought it could be the end for Noel and Liam. But now 11 years later I think it's turned out for the best as both Noel and Liam are still around and making great music and having success of their own.

If you do have Garageband check out the 'String Ensemble' and 'Vintage Mellotron' options.

Now need to find a way to add the strings... Does this help? There's piano??? All I hear is a million guitars and drums I'd guess G, D, Am7, C, F, D and back to G

To be honest the album version of Stand By Me has never been one of my favourite Oasis songs. I've always preferred the acoustic version with Noel and Liam sat around the pool at Bonehead's house. It's so much better than the album version.
