Id have added Eyeball Tickler on DBTT in two seconds. It’s much better than a bunch of tracks that made the album like TMOS and KTDA. The vocals on TMOS are terrible. The recording sounds unfinished and demo form. KTDA is alright but get rid of that awful "La la la" chorus at the end and boost that Ride-like guitar work to give it more of a Vapour Trail or Leave Them All Behind-like feeling. It's there but it just gets that Wall of Sound TM approach that piles layers of elementary-style guitar playing which kills that vibe. I Remember in the interviews leading up to DBTT being released Noel said KTDA would be a great new song in their setlists. Never played.

1999 when the band were recording Giants at the Chateau in France. It was recorded at the same time as Force of Nature was being done for a film soundtrack. "Love, Honour and Obey" was the film (tagging Flashbax as well) Little By Little was also meant for the film and interestingly both songs were originally slated for SOTSOG until late 1999 after Bonehead and Guigsy had left, and Creation Records had folded according to Noel in a July 2002 Q Magazine interview-

I remember reading it all top to bottom several years ago. It had interviews I remember reading between classes in high school in the late 90s. Some real nuggets. Noel is such a proper twat........constantly........................................... January 2004Noel says the album - expected in September, with a single preceding in July - will be a concise, ten-song psychedelic rock'n'roll record with no ballads, string sections or self-indulgence. He says he's aiming for a cross between Bob Dylan's 1965 classic 'Highway 61 Revisited', The Rolling Stones' famously out-there 1967 album 'Their Satanic Majesties Request' and The Stone Roses' 'The Stone Roses'.

What's the logic behind this? Being generous I suppose you could look at the part in the aforementioned quote about having "confessional songs" on SOTSOG, ignoring the merits or otherwise of the songs that did make it onto that album. Alternatively you could look at it being the songwriter who stuck Acquiesce, Rockin' Chair and The Masterplan on b-sides and simply put it down to another error of judgement in the quality of his own songs, rather than any outside reasoning on Noel's part.

Get replacements for Guigs and Bonehead, work on some songs, write some new ones, get the right deals and promotion in place, and then hit the ground running in mid-2001 with a new album and a new Oasis for the 21st century that garners momentum that turns the band into a viable player for the future (also without that hideous Y2K-era Oasis logo).

TRIPOD members.tripod.com/final_oasis/news_archive_october.htm"Album Stuff+++ – 24/10/99 One newsgroup member claims the ten-track album contains the songs; Getting Free, I Really Gotta Know, Little James, Only My Pride, Living In A Shadow, Seeing Is Believing, Where Did It All Go Wrong? Other songs slated to appear as b-sides to Go Let It Out include Flying High, So She Wakes Up, Coming Through and a Goldie remix of Go Let It Out, though Goldies management deny it's existence."

It’s 2:30 am here and I’m just taking a midnight walk through the city listening to Oasis at V-Festival 2005. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Bonehead and Guigs leaving had zero to do with LBL and FON not being on SOTSOG. As we know they (Guigs especially) didn’t really form an integral part of the songs creation or recording. Just Noel spouting his usual bollocks. Despite what Noel has said since, he was actually on a pretty hot streak at this point 98/99 and honestly if I could pick a 10 or 11 track album from this period neither of these would be on it, especially FON which is awful. Noel obviously didn’t think the album needed them (he was right but it did need LAMB and Full On) but when he suffered his actual songwriting block in 2000/01 he had to go back

The Hindu Times, SCYHO and She Is Love. Wow that would've made a last single from an album in the 90's. Glad he overcame that writers block.

Ive written on here before about how prolific Noel was in the lead up to SOTSOG compared with HC. I’ve probably missed some but the below just shows the difference. Also if anyone says they couldn’t make an awesome 10 track album from the 1998/9 list is beyond help. Noel’s biggest fuck up was that album’s tracklisting 1998/9 Fuckin in the Bushes Go Let It Out Who Feels Love PYMWYMI Gas Panic! Where did it all go wrong? Sunday Morning Call ICSAL Roll It Over Let’s all make Believe Cigarettes in Hell One Way Road Full On Carry Us All It’s A Crime Just Getting Older Revolution Song Little By Little Force of Nature Idlers Dream? 2000/01 Hindu Times SCYHO Probably all in the mind She is Love You’ve got the heart of a star Shout it out loud

Eyeball Tickler is more interesting than half of DBTT. Should have been on the album. Defo. Certainly would've livened up that drab album.

Noel obviously didn’t think the album needed them (he was right but it did need LAMB and Full On) but when he suffered his actual songwriting block in 2000/01 he had to go back Noel was probably so distraught from everything happening, not necessarily Bonehead and Guigs having creative input, which is why he mentioned them. Had he had them around to perform on the songs, it would've felt more like a band and more of a structured, normal process instead of it just being him, Alan, and Liam with Spike Stent and Strangeboy to help. That's why I think SOTSOG sounds so weird at some points. Noel was in the process of making an album and just said "Fuck it" and finished it to stay on track and prove something to people. I wish he had delayed the recording and release of it. A fully-focused SOTSOG would've sounded kickass (as in Full On with Liam singing, less overblown production, having other members on hand to do parts and fill out the sound).

I've been listening to Keep What Ya Got a lot recently, it would have been great with Liam singing it and put on SOTSOG.
