I’ve found that Be Here Now (the album) is a great remedy for all the anxiety and uncertainty of today. This weekend’s listening line up: Be here now album Be here now b-sides and unreleased Be here now mustique demos G-mex Manchester gig Noel gets to the point gig Budokan gig Hard not to feel positive after all that. If you need more: Chicago 1998 Noel’s various performances opening for weller 1997-98 This is just what I needed. I’m working from home so not exactly on lockdown and don’t have all that much more time on my hands but all this sh*t just makes me want to watch comforting stuff like Oasis or Star Wars! I have just re-bought “There and Then” and “Lord Don’t Slow me Down” on discogs after losing my copies over the years. Your post is a nice starter for ten of the best gigs, interviews, programmes to watch in the next few months 👍🏻

What order though, and no STC or BWTB? Never heard Noel say they were ever in consideration for DOYS. He did name drop them fro DBTT. Figure......... Bag It Up The Turning Waiting For The Rapture The Shock of The Lightning I'm Outta Time Come On Outside Falling Down To Be Where There's Life I Wanna Live In A Dream In My Record Machine The Nature of Reality Soldier OnThis tracklisting is alright but BWTB gets unfairly shafted, again. You could put that as a "post-apocalyptic" closer after Soldier On and nix The Nature of Reality. Although, TNOR does get better in the context of this tracklisting though. Still, even just adding BWTB at the very end would give the album a solid closing.

I'd have done more revisions.

Hearing this for the first time. Wtf is this tempo? Oasis on speed. Terrible. I love how Liam pulls off that snowflake jumper.

This did provoke me to go back and listen to The Nature of Reality, and it's not as bad as I remember. It's at the right length and sounds good in the right context of the album. It's no Champagne Supernova, but it's definitely no Probably All in the Mind.

Soldier On stays underrated. Good song, perfect atmosphere, best possible closer for DOYS:

I like when Liam sings that C sharp note over a G chord on Champagne Supernova. It's a tritone and it makes the melody even more strangely dreamy.

Jim guigsysEstring davidjayDoes somebody know when the Little by Little demo available on the dvd was recorded? It sounds like 1999-Noel, just like those Giants demos.

Oasis reference in an unexpected place: the popular Taiwanese drama Days We Stared at the Sun aka 他們在畢業的前一天爆炸. No, the guy on the right is not Jonny Greenwood.

It was recorded at the same time as Force of Nature was being done for a film soundtrack.

It would have been a so much better single than Sunday Morning Call...

Love Soldier On.
Just missing two Noel written, Liam sung tunes in the second half to make that a really good album.

Eyeball Tickler is more interesting than half of DBTT. Should have been on the album.

Unbelievable that Noel didn't used it for Giants. It would have been a so much better single than Sunday Morning Call... I understand why he didn't though. It would've stuck out like a sore thumb and would've been panned, much like how I Can See a Liar ended up being on Giants. It's much better suited on Heathen Chemistry, a much more upbeat album than Giants. It would've been a good single, especially had they gone for more electronic production on a Giants version of FON.

Eyeball Tickler is more interesting than half of DBTT. Should have been on the album. Honestly though. It reminds me of a made-for-2005 version of Headshrinker that would've slotted Oasis very nicely within the indie garage rock movement going on at the time of the album. Replace The Meaning of Soul with Eyeball Tickler and you have an album that has more energy injected into it before it starts to mellow out.

no way Eyeball Tickler on DBTT.. A Bell Will Ring fits nicely.. and what a tragedy to have 2 Gem penned songs on one album
can't kick MOS out, it's fucking good KTDA can disappear from this (nature of) reality though
time* for another tracklist pretty SOON
*time and time again)

It’s much better than a bunch of tracks that made the album like TMOS and KTDA. The vocals on TMOS are terrible. The recording sounds unfinished and demo form.

Oasis reference in an unexpected place: the popular Taiwanese drama Days We Stared at the Sun aka 他們在畢業的前一天爆炸. No, the guy on the right is not Jonny Greenwood. This show is actually littered with shout-outs to bands people on here love. In one scene, there's a Tame Impala poster on the wall of someone's apartment. And then another guy has Vaccines and Oasis stickers on his laptop. I also spotted a Nirvana logo in a lawyer's cubicle. And, to top it off, Jonny Greenwood lookalike here wears a shirt in several scenes with the word "enough" written on it in the style of the classic Oasis logo. Maybe the director is a member of this forum....

KTDA is alright but get rid of that awful "La la la" chorus at the end and boost that Ride-like guitar work to give it more of a Vapour Trail or Leave Them All Behind-like feeling. It's there but it just gets that Wall of Sound TM approach that piles layers of elementary-style guitar playing which kills that vibe.
