Just watched Noel's Huff Post interview and he says that he hasn't see his Epiphone Union Jack guitar "for ten years" as its in a rock and roll hall of fame in London.
Does anyone know where it is and displayed? Looked at Hard Rock Cafe London, and it's not listed in their guitar collection.

Apparently not, Noel's actual quote was "I've not seen it for 10 years, it's in a rock and roll hall of fame somewhere in London"
Anyone know where we can see it?

Has this still not been seen in over 10 years?
Seems strange it's not on display somewhere

It's currently on show in Liverpool. If anyone can tell me how to upload a picture I will post a few pics I took of the guitar.

Is it the actual one from Maine Road thats in Liverpool? Did he have any copies made?
The VIP tickets for the 2025 tour mention something about a museum I think, reckon that will be the centre piece?

He should play it in 2025! I stopped short of suggesting that given his recent comments on his heritage. Maybe a guest appearance in Manchester but its better off being kept in a museum for safe keeping, plus he would likely be strong advised not to play it anyway else...

Apparently there was a second one which he played once but he don’t think he owned that one. He had it for Top of the Pops or something. I think this one: He said something about it on the Matt Morgan podcast awhile back. He was given it by Epiphone for the show or something because the rest of his gear was on the road. Something like that. He only had it briefly I think. That’s not the same as the Maine Road guitar. The one in Liverpool IS the Maine Road guitar. It might be in the museum but he won’t be playing it in 2025. He’s got much better guitars than that now!

I went to the Chasing The Sun exhibition in London whenever that was but don't think that was in there. Hopefully it makes its way down south again in the future so I can see it. Would love to see it in 2025 as it's proper iconic but chances are almost zero I suspect because as you say, he has better guitars now!

He’s the guitar expert. That is correct. However, call me skeptic but I still don't believe the thing about the UJ Sheratons being two different guitars. To me, it still looks the same one - just without the extra fretboards inlays (they were added between Feb and Apr 1996). I've heard from one of the guys who was involved with the UJ refinish back in late '95 and he never mentioned a second one.

Aside from Maine Rd, how often was it used for gigs?
I know Noel had it in Wellington, NZ in 1998 - found pics which I used for the book on the tour.
Can’t recall it being seen much. Maybe just me missing all the other times he used it

It does seem a bit dubious. Wasn’t Noel claiming the second one was done by Gibson though? Rather than the guy who did the Maine (😛) one? Been awhile since I’ve listened to that interview though!

Maybe just me missing all the other times he used it Top of the Pops Maine Road MTV video awards Wellington as you said. He used it in rehearsals for Knebworth too. But he whenever used it on stage all that much. I don’t know what he did on the US tour before Maine Road but I don’t think he played it live at a proper oasis gig before Maine Road. They went on a break after MR and before the Autumn gigs by which time he switched to the Sheraton that was his main guitar through the Be Here Now tour. It acquired a Man City badge at some point and has since gone missing.

I’d pay an extra £100 for him to use this guitar and them open the show with Swamp Song, a la Maine Road.

You can see it at 2:18 in the video

Guitar strings deteriorate overtime so the sound is not as good. If he was going to play it again he would replace the string. Some guitarists such as the Edge from U2 change the strings on his guitars for every gig.

that said, noel needs to bring back that union jack and play it, a replica version or whatever. his guitars are pretty but that union jack really just screams coolness
