Ian Murray as St Mirren manager? I'm all for giving the guy a chance, but I saw him on Sportscene recently and I thought he was a bit lacking in the old wit. I actually quite like Murray. He's one of the guys I would have liked to see United pursue if Jackie had left.

Ian Murray did a very good job at Dumbarton. They looked doomed to relegation before he took over and and completely turned the results around. Not only did they start to win games but they didn't do what you'd expect a typical part time team to do; they didn't sit back and try and shitefest games for single points. At times they played some excellent football.
It's a good appointment by St Mirren.

Yeah when Ian Murray took over at Dumbarton they were bottom with a pretty bad squad but they ended up finishing 7th, which I don't think anyone saw coming. The two seasons after that have been good as well, finishing 5th and 7th respectively.
I do think it's the right time for him to go though as I'm not sure where else he can realistically take them. Stevie Aitken's a very good replacement though, he's done a fantastic job at Stranraer. They've been the best part time team in the league the past two seasons with probably the smallest budget, maybe Stirling this season excluded. I'm not sure it's the best move for Aitken right now but Dumbarton have got themselves a good manager.

Oh my sides, can we get Motherwell an emergency loan of the Chelsea bus?

I'm trying not to get carried away given Motherwell haven't actually been very good but that just makes it funnier.

How long until a 16 team top flight? Next week at this rate Stuart McCall has kept Motherwell up. Legend.

Highlight of the game so far is undoubtedly Baraclough laughing at McCall trying to get the ball.

Motherwell were excellent going forward for 70 minutes. They've looked poor in every area for the last 20.

I'm taking all the credit for that win, Baraclough clearly had a quick scan of the live4ever "Scottish Football" thread and saw my inspirational message.

This is a picture of Craig Sibbald from our last Scottish Cup final in 2009 (second from left). He's scored in three out of the four rounds so far in this campaign and it would be incredibly fitting if he were to score the goal that won the cup. He's well and truly living the dream of playing for the team he's supported since he was a kid.

Well, I can say that if Falkirk win, I'll be gutted for Caley, but I won't begrudge them victory at all. I can say that for most Scottish clubs. If it was one of the Old Firm or County, I wouldn't be so appreciative!

Just like Garry Kenneth for us in 2010. Hope Falkirk win. Sorry Matt! Well, I can say that if Falkirk win, I'll be gutted for Caley, but I won't begrudge them victory at all. I can say that for most Scottish clubs. If it was one of the Old Firm or County, I wouldn't be so appreciative! Same goes for me. For any club outwith the old firm, a cup final is a truly special occasion. If Caley win, I'll obviously be heartbroken but I could take a small crumb of comfort in the knowledge that a set of fans similar to myself are able to experience the unbridled joy of what is realistically the greatest achievement the club could ever hope for. Yogi was a great servant to Falkirk and Latapy was one of the best players I have seen play for us, so I'd be pleased for them as well. If we win, I'd quite happily take another ten years in the Championship. It wouldn't matter because I'd have witnessed the greatest day in the club's modern history. Tomorrow we'll have 18000+ fans at the game, which is the biggest Falkirk support I will ever have been a part of. All aboard the Craig Sibbald express!

Convinced whoever picked the music for the BBC's build up for the final is an Oasis fan. Just over half an hour in and we've already had While the Song Remains the Same, Fuckin' in the Bushes, In the Heat of the Moment and Riverman!
