Sitek would be good as a producer but what Liam really needs is someone to write songs with, kind of like how Guy Chambers rescued Robbie Williams' arse after Take That. Liam comes up with the occasional gem but he needs someone to tell him when something's a bit shit, which I doubt Gem and Andy would have done. It bugs me that Liam's voice has pretty much been wasted for years on some very average songs. He needs someone who can write some really great pop-rock songs with him, songs that take him out of his 60s/70s/Lennon rut and bring him the attention and respect he deserves and craves. If I were his manager I'd be out there now looking for someone who fits that bill. He needs someone to tell him when he has crap lyrics in place. For example I love the music beneath "Don't Brother Me" but many of that songs lyrics are silly and cliche. Kinda ruins the vibe of th song for me personally. I also feel this way about "Second Bite of The Apple" which Gem wrote I believe. Cool sounding atmosphere, dumb lyrics.

Yeah, I actually don't mind the lyrics on Second Bite of the Apple because they kind of fit in with the quirky tune, but generally Liam's lyrics do let the songs down. The worst thing for me on BE was the fact that you kind of knew what the next line would be before he sang it. A teenager would be embarrassed to have written the lyrics on Soul Love they're so obvious and cliched: Get up off your knees my friend Promise never to pretend You're the apple of my eye Spread your wings and learn to fly All I know is you can be Everything you want to be Life is short, so don't be shy Tears of joy is all you'll find

I saw Joe Strummer solo with hired musicians and it was fucking awesome. Clash songs performed live: Muy bueno. Most noted performers end up with hired musicians, it's really not that big of a deal. God bless. Yes, Liam needs to hire some famous session musicians like that small Village Santa Poco did in the Three amigos. fuck yeah, Pretty Green could make the outfits and everything. God bless.

Liam must be flattered by what Sitek've said. The more ppl would love to work with him the bigger ego he can have. My only concern are the live performance. Liam is Liam in a band...agree with the previous post, Liam being a frontman of some hired session musicians...just is not perfect fit for him, it is not rock n roll....he always put emphasis on the fact they' re just lads enjoying themselves On the other hand, when talking about production...If u don t have the songs it does not matter who the producer is. Disagree. Liam on stage as a solo artist with some expendable band playing behind him? He'll feel like a god. He'll be in complete control, able to act out however he pleases. No second guessing. His way or the highway.

Yes please, even just one collaborative effort would be amazing, Liam has been very weak and nasal since the end of DGSS (Too much partying, imo his voice hasn't really changed that much since 2008 for me, this was just a low point) but his vocals on BE sounded brilliant, it was a really great new take on it and the album sounded excellent, if Sitek is up for it then these two should definitely work together more! Liam takes care of the vocals and melody, while Sitek develops the rest of the song.
What Beady Eye lacked was a killer single, LAG are good songwriters but none of them (In Andy's case anymore) can write a really great song, they produced a lot of good, fun and at times interesting music but they just couldn't find that TSOTL/Lyla type song. Maybe Liam working with someone else would yeild that illusive great single. FLW, The Roller, FOTF and SCT came close, and they were great songs for the fans but I'm dying to hear Liam sing on something really mind blowing again

Yeah and instead of Liam just put a desert bush with some shades and a tambourine.....closing would be with Soul Love and The amigos shoot Liam like the invisible singer!

His work with TV On The Radio, The problem is, Liam didn't exactly have kind things to say about him after the release of BE. I think he sort of shrugged off the possibility of bringing him back.

I recall it being a video interview and happened I think at least a month after the release of BE, once they realized that it wasn't doing well on sales. But I can't find it anywhere.

Great producer. I love the sound of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. God knows why Evil Eye never made the album though.

Sitek's production was very good but it coincided with Liam's worst songwriting IMO. I just don't think he is good enough a songwriter to do his own thing, he'd have to rely heavily on other people. Does Sitek write songs as well? Maybe some collaborative thing where Sitek has the ideas and Liam just puts down the vocal would be great, but I guess Dave is a busy man.

And he will be very busy over the next 10-12 months. His bands new album drops shortly and then touring. Plus he produces a load of other artists as well.

I remember the one you mean. A filmed radio interview and the band were standing. They asked something about continuing to work with Sitek and Liam said something about it depending on how the sales go for the album.

I always hoped Liam wouldn't dump on Sitek the way the band did to Lillywhite. If you all remember, BDI had high praise for his work when DGSS first came out. After it stalled and got slated, the bands tune changed and they shit on him during promotional work for BE. Now that BE also bombed, I hope the boys show some class and leave Sitek out of the blame game.

(I've not got time to check) No Sitek talk in that video clip but the guys did say "BE" was a very important record for the band. Kinda hinting it needs to do some lasting commercial business.

Liam should do like Julian Casablancas and collaborate with popular, but good artists like Daft Punk just to reach out to the masses. Then start fresh and do his oen thing.
