Should be great. My Generation is one of the few songs he absolutely NAILED in any live performance since 2000. It kinda fits his growl, can't see him singing the song with his voice from 1994.

Quite a demanding song to sing, he'll have to prepare for it (for once), get the voice in good shape, if that's still possible

Is this the first time Liam's ever done a solo guest appearance?

Is this the first time Liam's ever done a solo guest appearance? He did a version of Day Tripper with Ocean Colour Scene in 1996. And of course Carnation with their lead singer, I think they even performed it live once for some TV special. Can't think of anything else, apart from the Jon Brookes charity gig early this year. Did he ever perform Scorpio Rising live?

The Jon Brookes gig earlier this year he was with Beady Eye.

Yeah, but those were guest performances, weren't they? ;-) They also had Bonehead as a guest for that charity gig, so it wasn't Beady Eye per definition. I'm surely nitpicking there.

And he did a song with that band John Squire formed after the Stone Roses, The Seahorses? yes he supposedly co wrote it but I'm sure it been said since he didn't do anything and was just a way of advertising the seahorses / getting his named attached to them etc

Also, if you classify Beady Eye as a Oasis tribute band, playing outtakes and classics, this might count as a four year long guest performance with former members. That was harsh.

Roger Daltry is the patron who is organizing I believe. I read an article where his wish list was Noel And Liam, looks like he got just one (?) of them this year.

This will be Liam's first official guest appearance. He has done this odd job but has always had either Noel or members of Beady Eye with him. He will smash it.
Also, Scorpio Rising is amazing. A great summer track to listen to when walking to the shop to buy fags and a newspaper or sitting next to the pool. Try it.

the jon brookes gig was classed as liam and friends but i wouldn't class that as a guest appearance as was surrounded by his people he didn't join the charlies on stage which would be guesting Sorry to be nitpicking but Liam did join the Charlies on stage. They played 2 songs as Liam & Friends then Liam joined the Charlatans for their encore & sang My Sweet Lord.

I was there too! It was definitely the Charlatans playing MSL with Bonehead, Andy & Liam guesting, then Tim Burgess came back on to finish the set. Edit - here's a great video

if he's only doing my generation should be okay. just don't let him sing anything after that.
when I first saw he was performing with the who thought he might be doing the parts that tom from kasabian did with the who playing ace face for quadrophenia (a few verses in the whole rock opera)...
either way, it's bound to sound KERMIT!
