I'm home from work and got it on repeat again. I can't remember when I last heard a song this catchy. Those na na nas are etched into my brain.

All I can say , is a lot here are saying after a third listen it's a grower , to me THATS not good , up until doys. I never had to listen to a Oasis. Tune twice to love it. my friend, I've just started reading this thread but I'll add a little something right now Noel is in another place right now. Oasis is over. he's finally making Something Else (). do we still expect some ROCK N ROLL songs? I don't. but we are still expecting huge guitars.. havent we learned from HFB 1? seems we havent. Noel's moved on. he put all the Oasis tracks behind (STC, RM, good rebel, etc) I'm well pleased with the single. it's uplifting, it's fresh, it sounds like the very few music I could like in 2014. solid melodies, strong voice, good lyrics and ok playing.

Rip-off of Charmless Man by Blur The one and only similarity are the "nananas". Then maybe it's a rip-off of twelve million songs in the history of music...

Isn't the chorus the same chord progression as the verses of wonderwall (and DYKWIM, and of course many other songs...) Not that I mind. I wasn't sure at first listen, but it's defintely a grower. I quite like it now!

1. blur's "Charmless man" + "Force of Nature" + "Waiting For The Rapture" + AKAWAL = 'In the Heat of the Moment' 2.crap lyrics but definitely catchy when it comes to the chorus. 3. too safe, too samey, too mainstream, nothing really special about it. Dad pop for the middle aged listeners4. of course i like it (its Noel...), definitely a radio hit, but its far away from the delicate sound of great Noel's songwriting. That seems like a contradiction. Mainstream is about reaching a large audience in the middle. Wouldn't calling it Dad pop for middle aged listeners mean that it's not mainstream? When I think of mainstream, I think of something that affects the middle of every demographic. That's why it's mainstream. Just want a clarification on it.

Can't hep but feel if the name Beady Eye was attached to it, people would be slaughtering it. Well, people are saying it's too commercial as if Beady Eye's "1, 2, 3, You and me. 7, 8, 9 No wasting time" is the bastion of experimental indie rock I don't know what people are expecting. To call it say, "Dad-pop". Well what do people think I'm just Sayin' was for Beady Eye? I think most people would find it to be a great song if Beady Eye did because the expectation for Beady Eye is lower. People hear Noel's name attached to a song and if it's not 9/10, then it's a disappointment. Beady Eye can get away with having a 7.5/10 song and it being lauded, Noel can't.

I wonder who the 5 people who said the song is crap are? I don't want to know who they are, but I'd like to ask them: what were you expecting? TIOBI Part III? A good Noel ballad ruined by a flat production? The Dying Of The Light? I suppose that you also hate AKA...WAL!, then... ( ok, I would have loved The Dying Of The Light as the first single, but ITHOTM can embrace a larger audience )

It's slightly above average for me. It's not terrible but fucking hell if that's amongst the pick of the tracks on the album then we are in a bad way.
I think it might just be a case of it being a radio friendly number that fits in well within the context of the album. Hopefully that's the case.

I can't stop listening to it. And it gets better each time. I don't want the fucking thing to end. Ever. And I wish that mini-interlude (at 2.38) was a bit longer.
