I love lengthy songs like the Pink Floyd one. Lengthy songs can be great if they're constantly moving and changing direction. Length for length's sake does not a good song make. I do agree that some of Oasis' lengthier songs greatly lack in depth to justify their lengthiness. When you go on repeating the same line a million times over, it means you're out of ammunition and you should've ended the song 5 minutes ago (which would've been the case anyway had Noel been operating in a sober state of mind). A song like Dogs by Pink Floyd or No Quarter by Zeppelin NEED every last second of their lengths to cram all the different layers of ideas and experimentation into the songs. When a lengthy song lacks that level of depth, it feels bloated like much of BHN does. And beat this for for length: 60 minutes of glory
