They would have got slaughtered if they'd used that artwork as its a blatant copy of exile on Main St Cool artwork nevertheless! They nicked enough songs in their time, may as well pinch the artwork as well! Pablo Picasso"Good Artists Borrow, Great Artists Steal"

Since we're talking about videos and there quality, WHO THE HELL FILMED THIS? I've seen that before, but not with the 'live' on-set sound. Presume it was Nigel Dick.

Liam Gallagher sang DLBIA. I've seen that hahah, it actually gives an awesome idea on what DLBIA would sound like with Liam's voice.

I'm not sure of the other production credits but that video was definitely directed by Nigel Dick. I think that timecoded YouTube video is taken from a tape used in the editing process- a telecine transfer of the film from just one of the cameras used on the shoot. That said, Nigel mentions in the article below that there was an early version of the video consisting of just this one shot, so maybe it was considered for release (would seem a waste of all the other footage they shot, I.e with the showgirl, clowns, cello & saws etc..) I saw this article by Nigel Dick a few weeks back and thought people may appreciate a link. It's his original treatment for the Wonderwall video from 1995. www.videostatic.com/blog/2013/02/28/treatment-oasis-director-wonderwall-nigel-dick-dirI was also lucky enough to speak to Nigel about his work with Oasis a few years back. Hopefully we might do a follow up interview at some point, as we didn't cover some of the later videos he did, like Don't Look Back in Anger and Don't Go Away. This one covers the first footage he shot of the band, anyway. www.oasis-recordinginfo.co.uk/?page_id=577

Radiohead also did a similar thing about 2-3 years ago. Remastered their classic albums, threw in b-sides, demos and some live stuff. Turned out nice.

Thanks to David and Owen for the fascinating new glimpses into the Mustique tape in this thread. I, for one, have been looking forward to getting to hear Mustique for years and it sounds like it might finally happen (fingers crossed). Also, that tracklisting seems to imply that the BHN demos that I put up here a couple of years ago are different versions to the Mustique tape (purely going on the fact that Magic Pie is not in that tracklisting but is on the tape I have). Hopefully Owen can have a listen to those links of the BHN demos and clarify if they're from Mustique or not. I'd already suspected that they weren't but this seems to clarify it a little.

Everything we know about Mustique suggests they're very simple recordings, acoustic with a few keyboard/drum machine overdubs and backing vocals. Angel Child being the example. The four tracks you have must be from Abbey Road/Air Studios.

BHN is cracking. Listening to it now, actually. It's my most listened to Oasis album. The entire album is one huge fuck off celebration (and once again nicely fits into the Oasis narrative, which I think is a cool trend that occurred throughout their career). I love it.
It's Getting Better Man sums up the entire album. And it's brilliant. How about that mega guitar solo, which just explodes? More of that, please!!!! I even like the long outro with Liam changing pitches, and the guitar riffs that surround it.
Fuck a naked version. I want to see Owen Morris blow it up even further! I'm havin' this album.

[quote source="/post/1107164 * I personally like Magic Pie but no way does it even sniff an Oasis Top 20 list. That's also what I meant. Magic Pie. The intro is too long. Actually everything goes on for a little bit too long. The lyrics are fairly ridiculous. The outro even more. But that just makes it. When Alan White's drums kick in I get goosebumps, even more during the last couple of "ahahaaas" in the song's finale. It's just so over the top, and I love it. But still it isn't anywhere near Oasis (Noel's) best songwriting moments. I guess we somehow all have the same feeling about the album. It stand as a testament of its time. I wouldn't want a single note to change. Anyhow, as waitingforsally said, it is a good tune nevertheless. The reduced acoustic version Noel played for some french radion station in 1998 proves it. But it also really is a Let It Be situation. I mean, who would really prefer the "Naked"-version over the Spector-produced, which (like Be Here Now) has been dismissed by pretty much everyone involved? People tend to like what they've been used to. Anyway, I'm extremely excited about those remasters, even if it's gonna take another three and a half years. I fucking love Magic Pie. Obviously doesn't crack my top 20 either, but the hate it gets from the band, the fans, and especially this forum is insane. I actually like the lyrics, they make sense and is typical writing from Noel. And it's with the positive mantra of BHN: "My star will shine." I listen to the song almost always for that solo. That solo is worthy of a listen to the track. After the solo, then I have problems with it cos the track just lingers and gets boring. But up to and including the solo, I really like the track. ~Defender of Magic Pie

I love that solo in It's Gettin Better Man. The whole album is over-the-top ridiculousness. BHN is the type of ridiculousness that Muse strive to achieve but fall well short of. It may be a failure to some, but at worst, it's a glorious failure.
