Japan get it on Wednesday, not long for their fans! Looking forward to hearing the bonus tracks. Same here! Will be great to finally hear a mix from the legendary Monnow Valley sessions, and I'm looking forward to hear which of the versions of Shakermaker is on there (and whether it will include the Coke line... I'm thinking it may well do, as the live, Paris in-store version on disc three has the line intact. So perhaps they've sorted the publishing issue that prevented the original lyrics being released originally).

How does it sound compared to the original Creation CD? Would appreciate a Darth Vader commentary on the sound quality

I was joking, whenever we're waiting for a new album there's always someone who claims to already have the album when they don't. I was making a play on the fact that I already do have these songs

I remember now that there were pages of posts on here saying "the leak is imminent" before NGHFB came out Not sure if this has been shared here, so will repost. This is a 45-second clip (in WAV format off the CD) of Ian Cooper's re-mastered version of Rock n Roll Star, shared by Chad over on the Steve Hoffman music forum. I think the link is still active. Thanks to Chad for sharing this clip from his review copy. www.dropbox.com/s/igerkfk1d3uh6cb/01%20Rock%20%27N%27%20Roll%20Star%20sample.wav

Is there any information on the WTSMG and BHN reissues yet? At this point, it doesn't make any sense to release them all this year...even though they said they would. They're probably just going to release one each year to maximize sales.

They're probably just going to release one each year to maximize sales. Nothing's changed since the announcement, so there's no reason to think the release dates will be later than stated. I expect heavy WTSMG promotion by August. BHN will probably release near the end of the year with less promotion since it's a less acclaimed album. I doubt the release dates will be pushed back further than that, as they'll want the focus to be on Noel's next solo album.

I think the box should have definitely included the cassette tape. And when you factor in the Brian Cannon book and the Whatever 12", its not too bad.
The shipping, on the other hand, it just through the roof. Was about 53 pounds to ship to me. Whether that's their shipping rate or Royal Mail's, it still adds a substantial bite to the cost of the box.

BHN will probably release near the end of the year with less promotion since it's a less acclaimed album. Maybe so, but who wouldn't want to re-live the glorious days of 1997? I think having the BHN promo starting in august would be a trip down memory lane. However, that doesn't give us much time for MG. I would expect MG in late Aug/ early Sept.

Remastering Definitely Maybe I always thought is a difficult one. Remaster it in a way that appeases a lot of the Steve.H members who look at a waveform and decide whether they like music based on a picture and you totally change and, in my opinion, lose the feel of what made the album what it is. Morning Glory & BHN are different things altogether in my mind because that's basically bad mastering where I think a lot of the compression people complain of on DM is inherent of why the album feels so good to listen to. I mean the un-mastered C&A is a different thing altogether in comparison to the final. From what I can hear in the 20 sec Rock n Roll star clip, there is a separation of the instrumentation I've not heard before, but it's bright. Maybe too bright? Still cannot wait to hear it all.

Yes, it's from CD1 of the reissue. Remastered by Ian Cooper at Metroplis studios in late 2013.

I think they all sound a bit better, more polished and some nice spacing between instruments. People who are looking for a completely different sounding album are in for a disappointment. It's the same one we've all been listening to for years, only with better mixing.
All of the tracks sound great. BIOD being my favourite. And Cigarettes and Alcohol having the smallest upgrade of the bunch, for obvious reasons. The demos I don't really think sound all that different to what we already have, a.k.a. What a Shit, but it's still nice to have them there. Maybe I'll need some better headphones to hear any real difference.
The HTWA demo is a nice treat and sounds way better and cleaner than tracks like Strange Thing and Fade Away. The MWC demo (the percussion one) also sounds really nice.
So all in all, nothing really new here, but a nice add to the collection. Out of all three albums, DM was/is the one least in need of remastering. What I'm really looking forward to are the MG and BHN releases.

I agree, I love how DM sounds, thats why I'm unsure about buying this. Also the disk 3 bonus tracks don't wow me that much, Be Here Now is the one I can't wait for

I don't get the Whatever 12" but I can live without that.

I love the sound of the original release, but I'll probably listen to this 90% of the time in the future. If you're a purist and want you favourite music left untouched then ofc stick to the original. But in my opinion this release sounds a lot better, probably only if you really listen to the instruments and know original by heart. Most people will never hear the difference though, it's there, but only slightly. I'm not gonna walk around thinking 'oh, this isn't the Oasis-sound I know and love'. It's a better, not different, sounding DM

It's a better, not different, sounding DM Thanks for the info I wouldn't say I'm a purist, in fact I'd love dozens of my favourite albums to get the remastered treatment (I loved The Beatles remastered albums) but DM isn't one of them. I still love how it sounds. DM is my second favourite album of all time so it's odd that I'm even debating not getting it but as you've alluded to the difference will be slight. I'm not an audiophile by any means and if I were to get this album, it currently seems a waste to resign my 15 year old 'classic' DM CD to the attic for the sake of a few tweaks, even if it does slightly improve on the original, I want to want to get it but nothing is making my mind up for me unfortunately, When I heard the 3 disk version was being released I'd hoped for a Live By The Sea esque Live Album on one of the disks, in all of it's 2014 remastered glory. I was slightly annoyed when we got a B-Sides Disk which every Oasis fan worth his salt will already have all the songs of. Disk 3 is intreging but not mind blowing. Never been a fan of Misc disks, plus the tracklisting seems very odd. Instead of having all live tracks followed by demo's you get a random mix of Demo/Live/Remix etc with no flow to it. In fact you'd have a Manchester Academy Mini Live album in the middle but the Fade Away Demo is clumisly stuck in the middle. It seems strange. Also there's 4 Paris In Store tracks randomly placed throughout the disk, surely they'd be better together? A small point I know but it very random to me

Don't know if it's cos I'm only listening on headphones but I've just been flipping back and forth and if there are any differences they're so minimal that it may as well be a placebo.
