When I pre-ordered my box set from Amazon.co.uk, it only came out to 94 euros total, shipping included!! And I live in the States! I have no clue why it's only that much, but I preordered right away. When you take shipping into account, I save around $70 ordering through Amazon. What? How? I'm in the states and it already costs $183 on Amazon without shipping... edit: You're right! I just ordered and it came out to 91 pounds You guys get it without tax that's why it comes out cheaper.

mkoasis I'm glad you were thinking the same way, was feeling a bit of a disloyal fan! but realistically with 2 more of these coming, I've gotta pick and choose here so I'm going with the 3 CD this time, and maybe the cassette. gonna see how this box set looks and enjoy hearing about it from y'all and I may decide to splurge on BHN lol

Has Whatever (Strings) ever been released unofficially? There's an article in this week's NME about the re-release with some comments from Bonehead and Mark Coyle on the unreleased tracks (I guess these may be from the booklet). Anyway, it says that 'Whatever (Strings)' is an early version recorded by Mark Coyle - I'm guessing its from the Boardwalk, and possibly something (albeit in much better quality) that we already have? Mark Coyle say's he wishes he'd recorded more of this stuff! Doh! I haven't got a scanner so can't upload a picture - sorry. I have the scans. oi58.tinypic.com/n2bfpf.jpgoi59.tinypic.com/2dhznug.jpg

I cancelled my huge deluxe set on Amazon and decided to just but the 3CD and vinyl. Same amount of content. Buying 2 cassettes instead of 1.

alright I *think* I am happy. I ordered the deluxe 3CD set and demo cassette from the Oasis store. spent about $50 so I don't feel like a stingy fan lol but I'm not blowing money I don't have to spare. everything I really want is on those CD's anyway.... and the cassette is my little bonus treat EXCITED

The boxset looks really nice from the pics, all black with the old oasis logo, just what I was hoping for.
Anyone know if there will be new artwork inside the vinyl and cd's or if they will stick with the original ?

Just ordered the cassette, will order the boxset in a couple of weeks
Hope the MG/BHN ones are also a ton, can swing that especially if one gets listed outside the footy season when I have fuck all else to spend disposable cash on. Well I could treat my wife and kids, but would that bring me the lasting sense of happiness that an Oasis set will?

Man, I wish that awesome Live Forever demo was included in this set. My theory is that maybe they didn't have the masters for the Live Forever demo, and didn't want to put it on in unremastered form?

It's a decent theory, especially as those other tracks supposedly from Loco Studios - Up In The Sky and Digsy's Dinner aren't on the new release either. But with Live Forever, they could easily duplicate it from the Creation For The Nation CD and no-one would bat an eyelid. Some guy on the Steve Hoffman forums claims the NGHFB demos were sourced from Mp3s for their official release.

I bet the hardcover version inside the huge box set is a larger version of the book found in the CD. Yeah the front of the book looks like it could be the same as the CD, looks a nice set overall.

On iTunes disc 1 and 2 say remastered after the tracks, while disc 3 tracks have nothing next to them. Perhaps disc 3 isn't remastered?

I just graduated college and really don't have a lot of money, but my reasoning for ordering the big box set, is I actually don't own a physical copy of Definitely Maybe. The only version I own is in digital download, which is frankly unacceptable for what I consider one of the greatest albums of all time. I'm justifying paying big bucks for this boxset with the reasoning that this will be cherished memorabilia I'll hold on to for the rest of my life. It really doesn't seem like a big expense when I look at it like that. The enjoyment and nostalgia I'll get from it is well worth the expense.
I'm also a big fan of Brian Cannon, and have had the pleasure of having a few conversations with him over the past few years, so I'd like the opportunity to support his hard work. I very much look forward to receiving this and holding the packaging in my hands and looking through all the different art and photos in the booklet. Will probably be the first and last time I'll do that for a music related thing.

From the Oasis Facebook. "Listen to XFM's Breakfast show from 7AM tomorrow to hear the first radio play of 'Live Forever (live)' recorded at a Paris in-store in 1994. www.xfm.co.uk/radio/"
