www.standard.co.uk/showbiz/celebrity-news/take-that-liam-gallagher-brands-robbie-williams-a-fing-fat-fing-idiot-8666097.htmlLiam Gallagher has reignited his feud with Robbie Williams, calling the Take That singer a "f***ing fat f***ing idiot" after he performed at the home of his beloved Manchester City. Gallagher's new band Beady Eye played at the 1,500 capacity Ritz in Manchester last night, the same night as Williams played the second of four shows at the Premier League side's 60,000-seat Etihad ground as part of his Take the Crown stadium tour. The 40-year-old laid into Williams, 39, before the show, calling him a "clown". He also criticised the music-buying public, saying Beady Eye would not be playing big gigs until people "pull your f***ing finger out and buy the f***ing records". Asked why Beady Eye were playing the Ritz while Williams was playing to tens of thousands, Gallagher told BBC 5Live they were a "proper live band" but that "the bulls*** is winning". "It's a small gig. Beady Eye ain't a big band, we're that big," he said. "Everyone thinks we're going to announce big f***ing stadiums. (The Ritz) That's the level we're at and we'll stay at that until you pull your f***ing finger out and buy the f***ing records." He added that people who thought Beady Eye should be playing stadiums just because of his Oasis success were "living in the past". But in a reference to Williams, he added: "And we should be playing the Etihad three nights, not some f***ing fat f***ing idiot." He continued: "It could be any f***ing clown. I think it's a shame that he's doing three nights (sic) and a band like us are doing one night in the Ritz. Poor, mate. It's not about him, it's people in general. But it's about f***ing him, just in case you think I'm scared or something." It is not the first time Gallagher has taken aim at Williams. The Take That star was originally mates with Liam and his brother Noel and famously partied with them at Glastonbury in 1995 around the time of his acrimonious departure from the boyband. But they later fell out after Noel called him "that fat dancer from Take That". In 2000, Williams challenged Liam to a televised boxing match for £100,000 while collecting a Brit Award for his solo work.

It was embarassing seeing all the Robbie Williams fans on the tram last night in Manchester, even worse were the blokes who were going to see Robbie Williams. If my wife asked me to go with her i would simply refuse.
Beady Eye can do bigger gigs but last night was i thought a 'warm up' gig before the main tour is announced. Probably seeing how well the album goes before announcing a lot/not many dates in November.

I have seen it for the past few nights, Bus loads of people with no lives, no character and no personality heading into Manchester to see the shite over at the Etihad. It's a reflection of the sorry state of music and people in this Country.

I gotta say , I am a huge Anglophile but I never got the pop taste for artists that can fill wembley or the etihad , not a knock , but in the states Brittany or Christina in there prime would never sell out giants stadium one night let alone 3 on the trot , it amazes me I consider the UK fan very cutting edge , but the pop taste is intriguing , that woudnt happen here Even the Jackson 5 had a problem selling tickets on there victory tour years ago ....we don't embrace pop or rap live like the UK

Some of the comments aren't too far off. We're fans and we'll always love Liam, but I can see where his talk gets old, especially because he's deemed as the "less" successful/talented brother.

It amuses me how worked up people get about it. "FFS LIAM GO AWAY YOU'RE IRRELEVANT NOW GARGGHHH DERPER DERP," yet THEY are commenting on an article in a media outlet they just read about him. 300+ comments, he clearly is still relevant.

Yeah it may be for the wrong reasons but he knows how to keep his name in the papers, wasn't suggesting it was for the right reasons

It's just bizarre how many people will go out of their way to click on an article they see, read it, and then post a lengthy comment about how much they hate him. I've never watched, read or commented on a Kanye West article even though I hate him. It just seems a strange thing to do to me.

That's great for you lot, there is far, far too much of it over here although I think rap is big in America as well which I will never understand, to me rap has absolutely no redeeming qualities about it whatsoever....

Yea man when rap tours they tour with alot of them maybe jay z and m&m can sell out MSG 1 night 2 tops. But not 70, 000 the music isn't conducive to it As for pop no Brittany , Christina , Mariah , you name the pop stars , I'm telling you even the Jackson 5 at the height of Jackson's fame had a hard time moving tickets The USA buys pop , the USA listens to pop ad nauseum , but the USA supports rock live For years the dead were the biggest selling tour of the year , and Bruce , u-2 , Aerosmith , vh , sabbath now , the stones obviously always draw the huge stadiums not ROBBIE like pop stars , yet they buy the shit ....go figure ?

There are always stuff like this on the Guardian comments section, just like the imbeciles on the NME on the website but middle-class snobs, as cloudburster said, I really don't see why they feel the need to click on a news story on a man they clearly have no time for just to post how much they don't like him as if their opinion matters at all. Like cloudburster I also CANNOT STAND Kanye West but I never get the feeling that I must comment on how much I can't stand him, I just like to ignore him and forget about his existence.

I guess my point cloudburster And its not a knock , just a observation , the UK embraces pop in masses live much more than USA , yes u can point to icons like jay z and m&m but that is very much a exception Madonna can now but now she is more of a STAR. Not a musical pop tart anymore but in general we embrace rock live much more than pop where the UK does support there pop very well , nothing wrong with that mind u

Good on you yanks then! That's how it should be, these "pop stars" of today who are huge over here only sing certain bits of songs half the time and mime to a pre-recorded vocal whilst they dance around for a bit on the other half. That's not on at all, you can see a rock show like Liam in Beady Eye or Oasis for instance and his voice might be a bit ropey but you pay to see get live music and you get it. The live performances of rap that I've seen do the same by singing over a backing track and miming to parts of the song

Yeah I don't read articles about him because I know it will annoy me as the man is a buffoon. People who comment on Gallagher-related articles seem to enjoy annoying themselves, its bizarre

I prefer spending my time engaging with stuff I enjoy, one must lead a strange life if they enjoy engaging with subjects that piss them off.
