The album could have been even better..I dont care about songs 'not fitting in' but imagine:
1) Swamp Song 2) Acquiesce 3) Underneath the sky 4) Wonderwall 5) Some Might Say 6) She's Electric 7) Dont look back in anger 8) Morning Glory 9) The Masterplan 10) Cast no shadow 11) Champagne Supernova

Same with remember2shine, if Bonehead's Bank Holiday made the original copy then it would've been #4.

I had not even noticed that, I guess I should proof read it a bit more before I post. 1. Don't Believe In Anger (Amazing song, suits Noel's voice perfectly, a real sing along) 2. Morning Glory (Love this one, excellent live, a real classic) 3. Wonderwall (Class song but suffers from being overplayed over the years) 4. Hello (A perfect opener, love both the album and live versions) 5. Champagne Supernova (Beautiful song, not too overblown unlike All Around The World) 6. Some Might Say (Great song but awful nonsense lyrics) 7. Roll With It (Good but not a stand out moment) 8. Cast No Shadow (Underrated song, loved hearing this on the Stop The Clocks Tour) 9. She's Electric (Left the setlist too soon but great to hear it again on the Heathen Chemistry Tour) 10. Hey Now! (Suffers by being on the same album as the above, not a bad song but forgettable compared to the rest) 11. Excerpts (A bit pointless, only there to make up the numbers, a full version of The Swamp Song would have had a place. I liked that song when played as the set opener during the tour). An amazing album, so consistent but the songs are a little too similar. I feel that it would only have been improved if Acquiesce or The Masterplan had been on there. Just goes to show the quality of the songs of that era if those songs were merely B Sides. The Masterplan album proves that when combined the B Sides could produce an album almost as good as this. You were so amazed by Don't Look Back In Anger you got it's title wrong?

1- Don't Look Back In Anger: I've never not loved this song, from the first time I heard it in 1995 as a young teenager, to last week when I watched the youtube video of Oasis' last Argentina show. I will never not love it.
2- Champagne Supernova- A messy, beautiful epic, both loud and delicate. My favorite ending to an Oasis song, love the little guitar lick at the end and the marching drum fade out.
3- Wonderwall- Overplayed, overplayed, overplayed. But still brilliant. Noel was always best when he pushed himself out of his comfort zone a tiny bit. The drums and spareness of this aren't revolutionary, but they are just different and quirky enough to make this song what it has become.
4- Some Might Say- If someone asked me, 'what does Oasis sound like?' I would put on this song.
5- Cast No Shadow- This could have one of the top 4-5 Oasis songs if it were fleshed out a tiny bit and produced a bit better. The lyrics are fantastic and the chorus is one of Noel best. But there's not enough content and interesting production to fill up the five minutes. Add another verse and chop off a minute and this is a lot higher.
6- Roll With It- What a great throwaway this is. I listened to this back to back with In The Heat of the Moment, another song I actually like, but realized how superior Roll With It is. Noel could write this sort of effortless brilliant nonsense in his sleep in 1995.
7- Morning Glory- Wow, this is the seventh best song on the album. Noel really was on a roll, wasn't he?
8- Hello- This has a sneaky good melody (esp the "we live in the shadows...and its never gonna be the same" part). I don't love the drums, they've got too much of that samey Oasis opening stutter to them. This was always great live too, wish they'd kept playing it.
9- Hey Now- I think this is another song that would have benefited from a minute or two less time. There's too much repetition. But other than that, this is an underrated tune with some great lyrics.
10- She's Electric- A fun but lightweight song. I love playing this on the guitar, great chords.

1. Some Might Say - The first Oasis song I remember hearing and it would still make my top 3. Sadly, there is no live recording that like as much as the album version, possibly to do with Tony's drumming or that it's in a slightly higher pitch.
2. Don't Look Back In Anger - The chords are amalgamation of Imagine and Let It Be but it still sounds original. The chorus is massive and the layers of guitars complement each other perfectly.
3. Cast No Shadow - Very underrated song with great lyrics and an excellent vocal.
4. Champagne Supernova - The complete opposite of Married With Children. It doesn't really get going until the second chorus but when it does it blows your fucking head off. The wall of guitars and the sheer length make it the perfect closer to the album.
5. Morning Glory - Loud and brash. Has the spirit of Definitely Maybe.
6. Roll With It - The chorus has a great melody. A happy song to jump up and down to, although the harmonies in the second and third verses aren't great.
7. Bonehead's Bank Holliday - Certainly a hidden gem. The best of the "piss take" songs. Would love to hear Bonehead singing it.
8. Hello - A decent song, but an album this good deserves an opener like 'Rock 'n' Roll' star or 'D'You Know What I Mean?'
9. Wonderwall - Never really understood the hype surrounding this song, particularly amongst non-Oasis fans. A good song to listen to once in a while but far from their best.
10. She's Electric - A fun song but to my ears, it's the only song on the album to sound a little bit dated. Possibly because of the two Beatles *homages*.
11. Hey Now - It's been mentioned a lot but the last verse is one too many. Although it has a good melody, the song is a bit dull and repetitive. However, Don't Look Back In Anger is a very tough act to follow.

In my opinion, there isn't a bad song on the album and is as close to perfection of any album I have ever listened to.

Cast No Shadow could have been the best Oasis song in my opinion if the album version sounded more like the live version. Live at Maine Road or Knebworth is just ...
