I'm reading on facebook that he left the gig in Copenhagen today after The Morning Son. This is no good.

hmmm, that's weird. There are more people complaining about the crowd than the concert itself. Also, Liam didn't say anything about it yet. Let's wait...
Edit: A comment on Facebook:

From Facebook: "Very disappointed about the gig in Copenhagen today. Liam didn't finish the gig and left after morning son. First of all so can the Danish crowd go and fuck them themselves. U don't deserve Liam and U can go back listening too electronic music. I wonder if this was because Liam left early or his throat is fucked again."

I was there and it was a quite disappointing crowd, yes. Except us people in the front rows the place was pretty much dead. And some people in the front rows were too interested in fighting also. But BDI was amazing as long as they were on, and it has to be said again: The song catalogue is amazing. Not one dull moment in a concert where they play pretty much all of their songs. They ended after TMS, and according to the setlists that were given out after wards, we missed Wigwam, World Outside My Room and Sons Of The Stage. Quite disappointed about that, cos Wigwam was the one I was looking forward most to hearing, by far. But is it hard not to ask now: Is this all that Scandinavian BDI fans have to offer. First we had the non-existant crowd at Hultsfred, and now this. Very few people up here seem to be mad fer it

Maybe its time for Andy and Gem to give us a little acoustic set. Vapour Trail, Cartoon Moon, Thank You for the Good Times, KTDA...now that would be a nice little treat.

gdforever: The encore+Wigwam, if I got it right (there was a line break after WW, so I guess that it was planned to be played before the encore).
hiddentrack: Thanks! Yeah, at least it felt good. But it's always harder to judge when you're in the middle of it. But my guess is that it was better than Berlin on Friday. I filmed two tunes (ITBWAB and TBGO), will transfer them to the computer tomrrow and see how it sounded. Might upload if the quality turns out to be any good.

Well...I'm sorry for the few great fans that did paid their money and showed up only to get less than an hour of a show. One of the facebook comments said 55 minutes?
Pity most of the crowd weren't up for it. I hope that it turns out it was just a remenant of a sore throat that caused the abbreviated show. But if it's just because they were pissed at the lack of reaction by some of the audience? I'm quite disappointed on the behalf of people like you, Lundblad.
If BDI ever make it where I am and give me an abbreviated show because they don't feel the crowd are into it enough I'd be well pissed

Ah, nice :] I was a bit worried about his voice because I'm gonna see BDI in November. As for the crowd: I feel sorry for the real fans, but I think the guys are right. If people there don't wanna see them, then there's no reason for them to play. I hope that both people and band enjoy the next gig, in Amsterdam and then, finally, BDI hits South America

I don't agree. Lundblad wanted to see them play.
He has just as much right to see a full BDI show as anyone in England. It's not his fault that 90% of the rest of the tickets were held by knobs.
If BDI never want to come back, then fair enough. But they should have played out THAT gig for the fans until the bitter end regardless.

I thought that the whole point of an encore, it that the band finish their gig, the crowd go wild and ask for more and then they come back on and play the encore. If the encore isn't required because of a crowd that isn't up for it, then it won't be played.

I thought Lundblad said that the program indicated that Wigwam was supposed to be the last song before the encore. That is why I asked if they had just not played the encore. Sorry if I misunderstood.
I was given to understand that BDI walked off early. If they just didn't play the encore...that isn't really leaving early.

I have been thinking about this and I don't think he left the gig due to the bad crowd. If that was the case he would've probably still sang Wigwam and not do the encore. Seeing as he left with only one more song to play, I really think it's still the throat infection issue. After all, a throat infection isn't cured on one day!
Only one more show and than he gets a bit of time of! He'll be alright after that!

If it's because of the crowd, I'll definitely to bring as much rock n roll to the crowd as I can, fuckers. xD But then again, people weren't really moving either during the American gigs, I don't see the difference.

I think the only reason he didn't leave the gig this friday earlier was that they streamed the show live. His voice wasn't up for it, and the crowd was horrible. I expected some of the next few gigs to be cut short or cancelled. Hope he get's better soon.
And oh, I don't expect BE to come to sweden or any other scandinavian country any time soon, sadly they've just got to few fans over here...

I think they pretty much sold out both Globen Arena in Stockholm and Scandinavium Arena in Gothenburg in 2009. I'm not sure how many that attend to the gigs but I think it was 8000 in Gothenburg and some more in Stockholm. Maybe Mr. Sifter can correct me if I'm wrong. So, yeah they were quite popular here. It's so sad that Beady Eye have not attracted more audience than what they have done here in Sweden and Denmark. I hardly believe they will come back. But I hope they try to do a gig in Stockholm next time they go on tour. They only played a festival here this time.

It's a nice little venue too. It was a bad decision to play at a festival.

I'm seeing them tomorrow, but if Liam still has a problem with his throat, I prefer that they replace the gig tomorrow. He wasn't in a good mood in Berlin either.
Anyway, get well soon Liam.

so it's news that a band doesn't play an encore for an unresponsive crowd? An encore should be a BONUS, something special, not a pantomime 'go off / come back on' predictability. Remember early Oasis never played encores, nor the manics or arctic monkeys I think... so good for them. if you want an encore, give the feedback required. it's the difference between a gig and listening to a cd
