I am only surprised that the NME is reporting it as a rumor if it is indeed true. They would have to have been near the top of the list of media outlets to be informed of an imminent announcement. They might not be in a position to confirm. They could have been told by the Noel camp to hold off for a bit. Which is the reason that I believe the tweet from FHM journalist was taken down.

any news has been quickly snuffed out by Noely Poley's gestapo, stuff deleted very quickly so the gestapo is currently watching this site and are then onto the leakers very quickly, the only time they have acted to deny something was the fake twitter account. boo di boo boo, sha la la laaa la laaaaaaa!!!

It's on the second page of this very thread... it's in deadman's post, and then mortie reported that the journalist deleted his tweet. oh the one that has been deleted, thats very solid.....even more coming from somebody with 94 followers (in this case i would expect a LOT more) anyway, im a little disappointed that the main source is the sun, i hope they are right this time Why would a journalist have lots of followers? 99.9% of Journalists aren't famous, you know.

I think the Sun is worth believing in this case as the editor of the showbiz section Gordon Smart is known to be close to Noel. Anyone who's heard his talkSPORT chats with Andy Goldstein over the last couple of years knows this. Even today the rival Daily Mirror's showbiz section referred to Smart as "an Oasis groupie". Any time he's on TV from his office, you can see Oasis posters everywhere.

But I saw his twitter page and it seems pretty legitimate - he's been on twitter a while. Surely somebody can't be that pathetic and sad to pretend they work for FHM?

The most interesting thing about them will be their articles in FHM. No reason to track down all the journalist to follow on twitter.

Oasisnews broke this first, then a few hours later the Sun posted a story about Robbie Williams and mentioned that Noel would be having a press conference, and then FHM journalist posted on twitter. A lot of things give this credence: the sources, the timeline which a lot people have been going by, Noel finally getting married, and the push back of the TBGO as a single. I just find it hard to believe that all these things are just coincidences.

SO EXCITED.
But why would The Beat Goes On being pushed back show that the conference is real?
Surely the conference would be AFTER all the Beady Eye singles are done?

Exposure for Noel is going to give exposure to Liam - he's inevitably going to be mentioned with Noel, and with both being on the same management, it makes sense for free publicity for Beady Eye.

SO EXCITED. But why would The Beat Goes On being pushed back show that the conference is real? Surely the conference would be AFTER all the Beady Eye singles are done? One reason could be because that Noel's management (which is also Liam's), could feel that having Noel announce now, could give a bump to Beady Eye in terms of press. Show they mutually help each other. Or you could say that waiting till' the end of July to announce, could be waiting too late for Noel to announce. When I say late, I mean to say, to get everything in. Noel could release everything on the same day (his album, tour dates etc.), but I think he wants to space out when he releases a teaser, when he releases a single, when he releases an album, and when he starts touring. That kind of spacing of time, takes time.

is the british version of FHM like most other british/european magazines? and by like, i mean is there nudity?
american magazines really suck in a bad way in that respect. no nudity unless you want a magazine specifically about nudity.
