I think Oasis is the band that more use the "()" to name it songs. "(As Long As They've Got)Cigarettes in Hell" "(Get Off Your) High Horse Lady" "(I Got) The Fever" "(It's Good) To Be Free" "(Probably) All in the Mind" "(You've Got) The Heart of a Star" "Can Y'See It Now? (I Can See It Now!!)" "It's Gettin' Better (Man!!)" "Sittin' Here in Silence (On My Own)" Hell they even named one of their albums with it: (What's the Story) Morning Glory?

What's said on Fade In/Out studio version around the 2:40 to the scream (who does that by the way? I am guessing it's Liam) at 3:00
Someone (I am pretty sure it's Noel) says something and I have always wondered what

if you listen very carefully in Round Are Way at 4:05 you can hear the guitar do the riff from Be Here Now but in the key of G instead of B

That's what it sounds like to me anyway. Edit: I remember reading an interview with Noel when the album came out and he said he woke Meg up one night doing the screaming for that part so I guess it must be his voice multi-tracked.

Has anyone else noticed on the Sunday night Maine Road (28-04-96), Boneheads guitar has not been turned up loud, in fact barely at all, when they return to stage after the acoustic set (DLBIA).
It's been bugging me for ages.

The first line of Let There Be Love sounds like Noel's voice fading into Liam's somehow. Jus listened this, scary! Noel can be easily heard in the first two words. Then it fades to Liam's voice. And there's also some metallic jingle in the background throughout the first verses.

SOTSOG is really the only album that I felt that should have gotten a higher on AMG. 3 star album? hardly. Plus if One Way Road and Let's All Make Believe replaced one of the shitty ones then the album would be up there with MG and DM. Aside from the rating, that's one of the most charitable reviews of the album I've read, Q grudgingly gave it 4 stars in a decidedly lukewarm review, the other reviews were uniformly brutal. i understand why: the poor tracks were seen to significantly drag down the good material on the album. And the band were due a big critical backlash, a large part of which was the BHN effect - the mags had said it was great, the punters disagreed, so the mags all looked stupid. But what I like about the AMG review is, it credits Noel with a attempt to move forward (AMG don't say it's always successful, and I agree with them, PYMWYMI, for one, is an undefendable shocker), the contemporary reviews were just like, 'yep, here's another helping of trad rock shit from these illiterate northerners', not acknowledging the sonic revelations on songs like Gas Panic! or Fuckin in the Bushes, but then that's critics for you I guess. It deserved every 2 1/2 and 3 star review it received. And to say it's a song or two away from a DM or WTSMG? is nearing delirium.

Couple for me, ironically both connected to SOTSOG:
The reason for "Full On" being left off the album: it's obvious debt/similarity in pulse to PYMWYMI.
Go Let It Out's "Strawberry Fields" melltoron outro riding right into (ALATG) Cigs in Hell.
Still the most "beatles-sounding 6 minutes in their catalog to me.

I would say 3 stars for SOTSOG is being very generous. Credit to Noel for trying a different approach, but the end product was drab and dreary and contained 3 absolutely horrific pieces of music.
Old ground though.

It's been bugging me for ages. Yup, I try listening to Live Forever from that gig and it just sounds really screwy. His guitar is almost non-existant. Listen to Noel's solo, all you hear are the drums, Noel's guitar and the bass. Poor Bonehead. at 1:49

Noel's backing vocals on Gas Panic. Very haunting. Dude, you should check out the version of Gas Panic! from Lyon back in '02. Liam stops singing in the middle of the song for a few seconds, and you can really hear Noels almost chanting like backing vocals! Brilliant indeed! Ohh, and I'm sure many have noticed it, but I'm gonna post it here anyways. Take Me Away and Angel Child have almost identical outros. I think that's pretty cool!

In the solo of the 'Familiar To Millions' version of 'Gas Panic!' Noel uses a part of the intro from 'Magic Pie' (check the 7th minute) Everything else I noticed is already covered in this topic I guess

How about this one? In the second verse of Fade In-Out, Liam sings, "I don't see no shine ..." while the backing vocal sings, "She don't see no shine ... " I also think an acoustic blues mashup of Headshrinker/Bring It on Down with a touch of Columbia lyrics would be amazing. Yes I thought it was just me with the fade in out thing. and is it me or does the live version truly piss all over the album version? one of my favourites.

Who did the backing vocals at the end of The Turning??
Dunno if it's a woman or Noel.
