At the very end of Going Nowhere, Whitey says 'couple of fruits' to which Noel responds giving a shout out to 70s camp duo 'Inge 'N Bracket. :-)

Anyone noticed that the chords for Rockin' Chair are basically the same as the chords for their cover of Cum On Feel The Noize?

The last "guitar part" at the very end of Shock Of The Lightning (before the drums conclude the song) is actually noel singing "nanananananaaaa".... You can hear this very clearly here In the same video, it also becomes clear that at 3:48, Liam and Noel sing different lyrics!

When Be Here Now came out in the summer of 1997, I always hated all the reviews saying helicopter sounds kick off the album on DYKWIM. That isn't the sound of a chopper but an airplane with propellers. I think people just associated what they saw in the DYKWIM music video as what that sound really was. Pretty minor stuff but always bothered me.

The opening guitar riff from Keep The Dream Alive is almost the same as the one on The Beat Goes On.

I looooove noticing things like this The "aaww dear" at the end of Magic Pie I heard this a while back when I was playing magic pie loud and I'm sure Noel snorts a line of the coke at the end as he makes a loud snorting noise and then says "aww dear"... and of course it was Be Here Now so I'm probably right

A very belated thanks to Soldier Ron for pointing this out - always wondered where that sample came from! (5.00 in the above) (at 1.48 in the above video) Sticking with Morning Glory, one thing I noticed was that right at the end of Hello you can hear (very quietly) someone whistling just before the opening chord of Roll With It crashes in. Sounds like they're whistling a dog! I also wonder if the lapping wave sounds leading into Champagne Supernova might have been a nod to the use of the same effect on The Jam's classic song English Rose. (Probably not, but I like the highly tenuous, albeit implausible, Weller link there!) From SOTSOG, I noticed that Go Let It Out and Beck's song Loser both sample the drums from Johnny Jenkins' version of I Walk on Gilded Splinters, a song famously covered by Paul Weller on Stanley Road, on which Noel played acoustic guitar. Apparently Noel admitted to Weller that he'd never heard the song before until they came to record it.

Anyone noticed that the chords for Rockin' Chair are basically the same as the chords for their cover of Cum On Feel The Noize? Makes sense - I always thought that the "And I don't know why" in COFTN is exactly the same as the "All my life" line in Rockin Chair.

Noel said he recorded a plane taking off on his holiday on Mystique where he did the demos in the summer of 1996. Plus it is not the sound of a helicopter.

Noel and, especially Liam, mysteriously became MASSIVE City fans around about the same time as their first trophy in about 735 years

Noel and, especially Liam, mysteriously became MASSIVE City fans around about the same time as their first trophy in about 735 years That's not true, they always used to keep ranting on about city during concerts even before they won the league. On the Be Here Now Tour or at least in Manchester in 97 the amp behind Noel had a huge Man City logo on it.

That was more an insult aimed at the cretinous club that is Manchester City rather than the Gallaghers tbh

The bridge/progression in Dont Go Away is indentical to the bridge/solo in Dont Look Back In Anger.

what are the last 2 lines that Noel sings at the end on "Waiting for the rapture"? I think there's been a few observations on what it might be like, I find this in an old thread from 2008: 1. Take my soul off the ground Like a million more, don't bring me down (Album version) 2. lay my soul on the ground Like a million more, that hang down (Alternative version, Rehearsal gig) 3. lay my soul on the ground Like a million more, that hangs me down (Cologne, Copenhagen and Paris gigs and some others)

I've always heard it as "like a million roads that let me down". To me it sounds like "Take my soul off the ground, like a million more don't bring me down." Idk it's really hard to hear
