I can't take full credit for this, as my brother told me about it, but at the end of an episode of "How I Met Your Mother," (s05e23) there's a scene where you can see a bunch of random people's emotional baggage represented as actual bags. Anyway, one guy has a bag that says "Still Likes Oasis." I thought it was funny. Haha brilliant! That episode is "The Wedding Bride" for those who aren't so familiar with HIMYM. Now I wonder, have the writers put it in there because they like, or because they hate Oasis?

Now I wonder, have the writers put it in there because they like, or because they hate Oasis? I've never seen the show but I'd bet on like. The TV producers of Lost clearly based the 2 rock star brothers heavily on Oasis down to the band's hit 'You All Everybody' sounding exactly like Rock n roll star.

In the DVD commentary of Lost they straight up say that the two brothers were based off of Noel and Liam of Oasis.

Yeah indeed, it's pretty obvious in Lost, Charlie's brother (the frontman) even is called Liam, and Charlie is singing wonderwall at one point =)
But I don't think the producers of Lost and HIMYM have anything to do with each other...

What I meant was I'd prefer to think that the Lost and HIMYM appearances were sincere tributes by intelligent, culture-savvy Americans rather than offensive piss takes (both of them could be interpreted as seeing Oasis as a fad or washed-up I guess).
An episode of Nip-Tuck from 2005-ish also featured Wonderwall (as a nostalgic bit - the chick says she remembers it from high school) in a important sequence when a character is mulling over whether to cheat on his wife or not. CSI has also used Oasis bu that might be due to the influence of its British producer/director (also director of film Goal! where WPTWOTWOMS was featured) Danny Cannon.

We know from Lost that it's some kind of tribute, I'd like to know if it was indeed the same case with HIMYM.
Anyway, let's just keep thinking that it is, that makes me love that show even more!!

Found another one; you can hear the first verse of Stop the Clocks during the outro on Record Machine.

Liam did backing vocals on Echo & The Bunnyman's Nothing Lasts Forever, the la la las and yeah yeah yeahs are from our kid. Really? I didn't know that. Is there any other collaborations? Err... well apparently the hand claps on The Verve's History are by Liam:D Oh geez I remember waiting for the radio premiere of that Nothing Lasts Forever with my tape recorder because I knew Liam would be on it.

Nothing groundbreaking, but Gem does backing vocals on The Meaning Of Soul album version Apparently "Up In The Sky" sounds (sound, guitars, etc.-not the lyrics ) like a Beatles song according to my best friend, hes a Beatles nut so I have no idea what hes talking about, but if anyone knows what hes on about I'd be happy to know. You've Got The Heart Of A Star has a Christmasy sound/feel to it imo Gem said this...I forgot where, but anyway he said that To Be Where There's Life is a subliminal(?-I can't think of the right word) message and its about to "Beware" theres life around you or something along those lines. Does anyone know who She's Electric is about? I mean Noel must've had someone in mind or something.

On DLBIA, the lead vocal in the chorus sings "my soul slides away", while the backing vocal sings "her soul slides away".

I think their are like 5 electric guitars going on in WTSMG, when i played it to my Guitar Guru mate he was blown away(and he hated Oasis), is that why live versions are normally Noel on Acoustic?

This is my first message so hello I found 1 thing. The "uuuuuuu" part in Slide Away (you know, before Noel's: "I don't know, I don't care....") is sung by Liam. He did it live only once but it must be him on the album version

Andy Bell Say's "That'll do me" at the end of A Quick Peep & begining of (Probably) All In The Mind. This, for me, indicates that he was happy to have this, His only song on Heathen Chemistry, included. Here I was thinking he'd said "A colour tv!" hahahahaha

There's a whistle at the end of Going Nowhere. It sounds along with the last guitar strum.
