I'm not totally sure whether many people on here are into the Rolling Stones. I, however am a big fan of the Stones.
The Godfathers of Rock n Roll some might say. Try Grandfathers of Rock n Roll, theyve been at it since '62 and one of these days Mick's bound to clock it.
Since theyve been together for so long theyve released well over 30 albums and I was wondering, which one of them all is your favourite? My personal favourite is Let It Bleed. I dont think there's a single song on there that I skip. Particular highlights include Gimme Shelter, the title track, Monkey Man, and You Can't Always Get You Want, but everything on there is 100% listenable and classic 'Stones. Other favourite albums include Aftermath, Beggars Banquet and Sticky Fingers.
I see Exile On Main Street on many "Greatest Albums of all Time" lists and although it does have its moments, such as Rocks Off, Tumbling Dice and Shine A Light which I single out as masterpieces, the album has an obscene amount of filler and ultimately the album does not flow.
Although all their post-1975 efforts are utter trite, bar perhaps Tattoo You, the Stones are still probably may second favourite band of all time, behind only The Beatles, and I'm interested to hear what 'Stones album is yoru favourite.
U.

is it wrong to say their greatest hits? if not, i'd probably say let it bleed or beggar's banquet.

I've always been a fan of Goats Head Soup for some reason. Such a shame Taylor left the Stones...

Sticky Fingers definitely. One of the best albums ever made.

Yeah Stick Fingers is brilliant, it's got one my favourite songs by them on it in Sister Morphine and Wild Horses is a classic. You can't really argue with Let It Bleed either, some classics on there; Gimme Shelter, Country Honk and You Can't Always Get What You Want amongst some of my favourites. I've always liked their first one though, very raw sounding.

Some Girls for me. I also think it is the last Rolling Stones album worth listening, maybe with the exception of Tatto You.

It's got to be Let it Bleed because for me, I could listen to the entire album. No other RS album has so many hits and drugged up rockers (Gimme Shelter, You Can't Always Get What You Want, Let it Bleed, Midnight Rambler, etc.)

So many to choose from and lately I've just been listening to 40 licks only so it will be hard to remember. I think i would go with Let it Bleed as my favorite, but I also like Beggars Banquet, and Tattoo You.

I try to listen to the Stones and I just don't like them. Imo, there are always at least 1 or 2 great songs on each album and the rest of the songs are bad.

Tough one to call between Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street for me. Both all time favourites for me. Love Let It Bleed cause it has Gimme Shelter, Live With Me and Monkey Man. Stones between 68-72 is as good as Rock gets.

Probably Exile on Main Street, but they’re one of those bands where you favorite album changes from time to time. Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and a lot of Goats Head Soup and It’s Only Rock n Roll are really good too

Beggars Banquet. I need to listen to Exile again, though.

It always changes between Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Exile On Main Street. The last two might be my favourites most of the time.
