They are two different humans perhaps? Jesus. With similar genetics.... Stop making excuses for Liam. He should own his unreliability. Noel wasn't the one tearing through 15-16 songs at ear splitting volume every night for a couple of decades, of course his vocals will be in better health. Doesn't help him sound any better though.

I can't find it on Apple Music Australia either only the trailer which is weird considering we're ahead of almost everyone else! (except NZ).

Rather than just cranking out another solo album (though I'm sure it wuold be good) Liam should try a collaboration with another established artist. How great would it be if he went into the studio with Richard Ashcroft? The two best voices of the 90s on one album! Ashcroft would be able to bring the songwriting clout that Liam so clearly needs as well. I actually preferred Liam without any baggage from 90s artists or past history... know what you mean but I hope they do another with this formula. I agree. I love Ashcroft, Marr, Brown etc but Liam's solo career at the moment is on a completely different level compared to those other greats. None of them have put out solo material close to AYW for a while now. He doesn't need anyone but himself and should just keep moving forward musically while throwing in a third to half a set of absolute Oasis bangers live, and he will continue to be massive.

The only song I haven't heard yet. I was hoping for a proper recorded version. Is it as good as the soundcheck version that leaked years ago? Is it the same or is it a studio acoustic take or what? Sounds like just Noel and an acoustic in the studio, with a tambourine shaking along.

Great production, sure. But it's the first album penned by Noel that I can't remember a song and no need to listen again :S I'll give it a few tries because it's Noel, but... Have to agree that I'm not really motivated to re-listen to it, first time I've ever felt like that for any Gallagher related release. In saying that, I absolutely love 'She Taught Me How to Fly', 'The Man Who Built The Moon' and 'God Help Us All', a few others I'm kinda into, but 5 of the first 6 tracks do absolutely nothing for me. It's the reverse DOYS.

She Taught Me How to Fly is easily my favourite through 8 tracks.. still don't like the singles we've heard so far or B&W Sunshine, they just don't go anywhere interesting? Interlude #1 reminds me of River of Pain from Primal Scream..
Nothing mind blowing so far, nothing terrible either, looking forward to the rest!

Does anyone know how the sales were in the UK this week? I know he dropped down to 16, but interested to know how many he sold since AYW seemed to be steady around 10k the last few weeks

Its one thing that has always annoyed me with Oasis / The Gallaghers.. the merch has always been fairly average. There is a couple of awesome classic tee's from 94-98, but the majority of everything they sell has no thought or creativity at all. Coming from a designer I always wish I could have a crack instead - Liam's Australian tour artwork is one of my current projects, no merch though

To be fair.. Andy, Gem and Chris were with Liam for nearly 5 years in Beady Eye, and that only ended because it was LIAM's decision.
Fast forward to 2017.. of course Gem and Chris are going to play with Noel again, what the fuck else are they going to do? No one cares or wants any more Heavy Stereo tunes, and Chris hadn't done anything since BE finished.. beats sitting around the house and at least they can get paid to play gigs again.
To answer Noel's question, yes, you do need to say more.

Congrats to Liam, Debbie and everyone at Warner for absolutely nailing this release from day one!
I coudn't be more proud for Liam and happy to have so many great new songs to blast every day. AS YOU WERE!

I still keep giving it a few listens every day but I just get nothing from it. I don't hate it, I don't think it's terrible.. it's just so middle of the road that I don't care if I never hear it again.

No problem for me. Also I don't think he reads every line while he's singing, just if he gets lost somewhere along the way he can always refer to that and be on track again. James Hetfield from Metallica has the same set up.
As far as Come Together goes... after that many beers its hard to remember anything! That song has some weird phrasing and odd word combinations too so cant blame him! There is definitely easier Beatles songs to sing along too

Yeah in my initial review of the album I quoted the 3 bonus tracks as the weakest but now I disagree with myself all 3 are freaking awesome I wasn't so keen on All My People and Never Wanna Be Like You either, but have now grown to love them. I probably wouldn't take anything off the official album tracklisting to put them on, but they are great little bonus numbers!

#10 in iTunes Canada. Just out of curiosity what was first week sales for DGSS and BE ? off the top of my head, I believe DGSS was 60K and BE around 30-40K? someone here will know for sure. Either way, AYW is kicking huge amounts of arse!

Am I also getting a bit of a Ramones vibe or am I nuts? Yep, reminded me of Rock N Roll Radio immediately, except I really like that song. The horns, the woo-woo's, the weird organ/keyboard sounds under the verse that sound like the whistles...

I love it! So many cool photos inside and little things to look for. The vinyls themselves are beautiful too, the white looks great.
Took me a few minutes to realise the CD fold out part has a photo of Liam at the mic that continues over every piece that folds out, couldn't be happier.. This is why we buy the physical copies!

I think a lot of those wiki credits are wrong, just flipping through the booklet now. Greg Kurstin didn't even write Paper Crown, that was Andrew Wyatt and Michael Tighe

So I've just picked up my deluxe box set from the post.. god its beautiful! the way they've done the booklet, vinyl and fold out extras is really great. I already loved the album, but giving the vinyl some real volume on thumping speakers makes it even better.

Postman tried to deliver my boxset while I was in the shower, now I gotta wait until this afternoon to grab it from the depot. This bloke has no sense of timing!

This is the most consistently good collection of songs a Gallagher has put on record in 20 years. There, I said it. I completely agree. This might be my 3rd favourite Gallagher related album that has ever been released. I love Be Here Now and DBTT as complete albums, but I think this has the potential to edge them out at 3rd place behind DM and Morning Glory. I'd say As You Were will be great to re-listen to over and over again.. the songs are all fairly brief, to the point and catchy.. hard to get sick of!
