here are 2 short lists - 1. Champagne Supernova Some Might Say Listen Up Fade Away The Masterplan 2. I Can See a Liar (Probably) All in the Mind Part of the Queue Force of Nature The Shock of the Lightning To think these 2 lists contain songs written by the same person is ridiculse. Noel started the 2000s with leftovers and no clue how to create a classic Not really fair this. He also wrote Go Let It Out, Gas Panic!, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, The Importane of Being Idle & The Shock of the Lightning in the same period. Even these ones don't hold the comparison to the great days, and try to find 94-96 oasis songs as bad as all in the mind.. Oasis killed itself trying to hold up to its 90's glory. They still were a huge live Bands thanks to the classics and their 90's reputation but studiowise, except Liam's voice it was a sh*tshow.

Haha yea i really like Blur, but oasis is the band that made me love music in the first place, this is the band i know the most but in my lifelong quest for new music i found so many artists that released waaaay better things than oasis, or at least had some kind of innovations in their sound and didn’t stick with the same vibe for 20y..
If i chose Blur its just because its a band that always get slagged by oasis fans when they are a quality band.
These days maybe noel is trying a bit since last album but its too late, and lets not even talk about liam who is stuck in the 60’s...

Was really let down by Shockwave, this one sounds cool, wanna hear more

Don't get me wrong, I like some songs from the latter albums, even from their solo releases but i can't stop thinking how oasis is such a disappointment after BHN, and even this album is pretty messy because of overproduction and drugs... My issue is that i really don't get they never tried to do a different sound, but ony worse versions of DM and MG over and over, and it's still the case with their solo careers... I already know some of you will send me links to Gas Panic and some other cool stuff but it doesn't matter, all their albums are mediocre compared to the standards of the era they're released in... They might be the band who had the worst 90/00 transition along with Weezer, just look at Damon Albarn who releasedd Two very strong albums in the late 90's and then did something new and cool with Gorillaz, or Radiohead who after releasing OK Computer, one of the most important albums of the 90's(and waaaay better than BHN) just drastically changed their style to go with Kid A.. So ofc some people(a lot sometimes) might not like these albums/projects but at least they had the merit to do something different just to show they have ideas and want to evolve... The worst thing is that oasis couldve tried something different, Noel's collab with Chemical Bro is the perfect example of how oasis MK2 could have sounded, but they preferred doing the same thing over and over for 20 years now... Sorry for this post i got a little sad after hearing the new Liam single which sounds like a worse version of Come Back to Me, which is already a worse version of good oasis songs... Sorry for my english too

Hard to judge since i was not in the crowd, but that lyla sounded really poor and this is one of the songs that benefits a lot from Noels voice

People do that with Noel's stuff too. Apparently Holy Mountain is literally better than the Oasis classics. Numbers mean different things to people, and everyone's scale is different Holy Mountain (imo) is genuinely up there in the top 10/15 songs Noel has written though. I haven't heard Shockwave studio version yet so can't comment, but I liked the live version. I don't know if Mouth is a troll or not. But he has a point that people do tend to sway more towards 'Liam is amazing' if he puts out a bog-standard track, compared to if Noel puts out a bog-standard track it's 'Noel's a tory twat' etc. Anyway, glad Liam's back. I'm really looking forward to hearing Shockwave in its entirety. I don't really want to enter the debate of a Noel song in a Liam thread but the whole Masterplan album litteraly sh*ts on Holy mountain and it's only b-sides, so already 13 songs better than holy mountain which is a sh*tty ripoff of plastic bertrand. (and a sh*tty cringy song in general)

the "heys" really suck
I think the part that leads to the chorus(even though really similar to the Come Back to me one) is fantastic, not a fan of "its coming round like a shockwave" but the other bit of the chorus is slowly growing on me.
The last part is pretty good too.
Don't like that vibe of the verses also..
6/10 for me
Liam's voice is really good

The song is fine, but WoG was better, i don't like the choruses on the song, only the part between verses and chorus sounds amazing even though it's almost the same as the one from "come back to me"
so idk, waiting to hear it in studio quality, and other new songs if possible..

he should start with wall of glass followed by either RnR star or MG, not both tho..
I mean WoG is a banger the crowd loves it just use it and show the people you made something great and noel wasn't involved

Even though i don't agree with some rankings i think that's a pretty good list, and reading the authors point of view on all that songs made me a bit emotional and reminded me why i fuckin love that band

The people claim more "obscure" material or something he doesn't usually plays. He plays a song that hasn't been heard in 15 years or so (and a great version in my opinion) and the people go "no no drop it, we don't want that" That's different, it's obvious that people are getting mad because Noel sings "Liam's ones" but the fact is that there are many really good songs Noel did sung while in oasis and he doesn't even give it a try. Yea Go let it out is 15 years old but this is the kind of song you expect to see in a Liam Show, Noel could go with sad song, step out, etc...(many good bsides from sotsog sung by noel)

Go let it out is the perfect example that shows how much some songs are just Liam's ones.

I don't think so, that is not my definition of associated, to me dlbia is associated to noel, and Champagne supernova and the vast majority(minus 2) of the 3 first albums are associated to Liam. Fair enough though for me, writing the music, the melody, the words, and being the main figure in the band responsible for the production of the song suggests a much larger association than merely singing it. But I recognize that it's subjective. Haha merely singing most of our anthems, you defo are funny man! But i get your point here it's all subjective let's not go further
