Debbie Harry turned 78 at the weekend and she still looks great. I saw Blondie this weekend actually, they were great. Hard to believe all these icons are as old as they are. But then again, we are aging too. I still feel shocked when I think Morning Glory came out nearly 30 years ago.

It absolutely would have been better to have the full gig. Or at least as much would fit on a single CD, which I’m assuming the 16 tracks is. But honestly, I’m just glad Roll It Over is on there. That’s my reason for getting excited about this. Half the songs we have live on Down by the River or in countless other solo or Oasis gigs. Roll it Over, plus Some Might Say and the COYK songs are what I want. The standard single CD will do for me.

One of the first bands I saw live, way back on the tour they did to promote their album "Faith" I remember they had a really weird video that they showed before they came on called "Carnage Visors" ... why my memory still retains this after 40+ years will forever be a mystery! They lost me after the Pornography album. Maybe I should give them another go? After all, it has been over 40 years ... You’ve got a lot to catch up on! And yes, your memory serves you correctly. You can hear the full soundtrack to Carnage Visors on the deluxe reissue of Faith.

New Hives album in August - The Death of Randy Fitzimmonds.
I’m excited for it. It doesn’t include the couple singles from the last few years “I’m alive” and “Good Samaritan” (which might be my number 1 Hives song…truly blown away by it) but has 12 others. I’d love to have those on the album but let’s see how it turns out.

Just looked to up Quinn the Mighty and found an Absolute radio performance of it from…2021! How did I miss that? I thought it was new.
And then I came across this - I know Noel has said he liked Bowie’s The Next Day album. I didn’t know this happened. Unless it’s a very good AI thing. Can anyone shed some light on this?

According to SetlistFM, Noel has dropped Easy Now, added Half the World Away, replaced Love Will Tear Us Apart with Quinn the Mighty (Bob Dylan). He’s also played a verse of Take Me Away apparently. I’m going to see if I can find any recording of this on YouTube. Didn't expect him to drop Easy Now as he seemed confident that one would go over well. Guess it hasn't. Might do better with the UK crowds. I know, I really didn’t expect that one to go. Of all the songs on this album, that’s the one I thought would stay on in the setlist even the following tour.

For me,
A hard days night deserves a mention here. It shows how great they were early on, how original and how far they’d go. The 13 songs in 30 mins is a perfect record.

Now that he's out of LDSMD sound checks songs to pull out as bonus tracks, why not this one for album #5? I’ve always loved this one. Just the simplicity of it and it’s heartfelt nature makes it a real winner for me. I’d love to hear him open an acoustic set with this.

Nothing beats than picking album on the release day from the local record shop, straight back to home, sit and listening to it on my own while reading inner sleeve. My precious moments 😎 Yes indeed. I wholeheartedly agree.

I don’t mind the song, it has its merits. Glad we heard it live a great times. But it really should have been the B-side to GLIO instead of Make Believe.

Just came to mind that by playing Going Nowhere for the first time, it's not only Noel who revisits the original recording but Mike Rowe too, who played keyboards on the original version. I was just about to post this too. I’m so pleased we’ve finally heard Going Nowhere live.

Felt great going to my local independent music store (used CD's forever!!) & buying the deluxe & regular CD versions today. Curious how everyone else procures their tunes these days? Been buying release day albums since Be Here Now...makes me feel like a kid. Me too, went into the shops to buy both CD versions and the LP. It’s a far more satisfying experience than ordering something by post. I only do that if I have to.

I really hope he keeps Going Nowhere for the duration of the tour. I’m seeing him at Wembley and would be so, so excited to hear the only song off The Masterplan that’s not been heard live!

I'm surprised OTDSWYF doesn't have more fans. I thought it was a really effortless, joyful track. Kind of Noel's Better Days. It was an immediate standout for me. Overall, Trying to Find A World and Get There in the End are my two favourites and top tier Noel solo stuff for me. But after that it would be Open the Door then Think of a Number. I’m surprised to see There She Blows do as well as it has. I liked it a lot at first listen but had a feeling it would be the one song no one else liked! Glad to see it’s done well for itself so far.

In late May I always tend to get into peak period Rolling Stones.
Exile on Main Street Sticky fingers Let it bleed Beggars banquet
Oh and the 2CD deluxe version of Some Girls has got some great outtakes on the second disc. Well worth a listen, especially to “spare parts” and “you win again.”

I'm old. When the landline on the wall rang. My old man would say "just because it rings, doesn't mean I have to answer it". Love this.

Yeah, that's exactly how I interpret HN too. It’s funny, for the “runt of the litter” of MG, the only one still never played live, it’s the song off the album I’ve grown to love most over the years. I think CNS, HN, SMS, and CS are my favourites since the last 8-10 years.

So after listening to this 4-5 times, I have to say: I’m really liking it. I wasn’t sure if I would but I am quite impressed.
I was most excited for Hey Now and felt disappointed when it was first released. But now I love it. I’ve always felt that HN was (lyrically) like rewinding yourself through your life, all the moments passing you by in a fuzzy blur. In the Oasis version, it feels like Liam’s voice defiantly stands by his life. In the RA version, it feels like he’s dissociated out of his own life as it passes him by. His version and that interpretation suits the song.
LOVED what he did with Headshrinker. I think all the bsides turned out best actually. Rocking Chair always sounded a bit like The Smiths to me. This version is fully very Smiths. Acquiesce even acoustically worked well. Talk Tonight was a perfect fit for RA. I think RWI, MG sounded great in this style. Funnily enough, I think the biggest hits were the ones I enjoyed least: WW, DLBIA, CS, and SMS. I liked them but they were the least best IMO. Loved the rest.
Really happy with this. I think the Neil Young doing MG description matches it well.

I agree. Primitive Notion, Mean Streak, Close Range and Turn My Way are my favourites off it. Such a great band. I saw Peter Hook and The Light last summer and was really chuffed when they played Crystal, I really wasn’t expecting it. X Worth seeing them then? I’d agree with the Iggy album. I liked Morning Show, Regency, Johnny (sounds terrific but it’s such a dark song), and Comments. Frenzy is okay, as is New Atlantis and I liked the little 1 min bits. The rest was okay. Ready to Die, Avenue B, and Post Pop Depression are my favourite post “lust for life” Iggy albums.

What do you make of New Order’s Get Ready album? Love it. Crystal is a banger. The lyrics aren’t the best in places, but that’s true of all New Order albums! X I agree. Primitive Notion, Mean Streak, Close Range and Turn My Way are my favourites off it. Such a great band. What did you think of the new Iggy Pop and Smashing Pumpkins’ albums?

That original post I'm assuming is sarcasm lol. That 07 Brit performance is truly abysmal. I thought it was definitely lacking. But I loved that they did TMOS, which turned out pretty decent. I’m a big fan of that one.
