btw 75£ for less than an hour set is not good For that money I'd expect at least a 90 minute gig. No excuse for such a short setlist given the combined large back catalogue of both artists.

Some of the best gigs I've ever seen were bands with just 40 mins material- the Strokes on their debut album tour were perfect. I think it should be law that a band can only play an hour set and then do 20 mins max encores... ALL of the best gigs i've ever seen were like that! The Beatles never played a gig longer than 30 mins (apart from hamburg).
There are exceptions. The tape of the Roxburgh gig that surfaced last year runs to 58 minutes and it's thought there were two more songs in the setlist that the tape didn't capture. That was April 1963 - four months after their final Hamburg gigs. Many of the early local gigs in the Cavern and local dance halls would have been much longer than 30 minutes but I guess we all tend to lump that in as part of the "Hamburg era".

What covers would be want or expect them to maybe attempt? She Said She Said Never thought of that as an obvious choice but it would suit Liam's voice. I'd be thrilled to hear them cover that.

IMO they could at least do 3 covers. Beef it up a bit Still contemplating not going to Wolverhampton because of the time tbh What covers would be want or expect them to maybe attempt? She Said She Said Citadel Are You Experienced? An Oasis cover, a Stone Roses cover and "something else" like a Beatles, Stones or Hendrix cover.

Still cant believe they dare releasing a record compressed like that, with such a good product underneath. My tinnitus is back with only 3 listens on headphones. Unbelievable. Its a crime against music I've a sensitivity issue when it comes to my hearing and can't listen to Definitely Maybe through ear buds/AirPods. Do you have the same problem with that album? Not game to try this album, sticking to stereo and laptop speakers. I just got back from watching Dune Part 2 at the cinema last night and Liam's new album - even when pumped up to 11 - sounds quiet in comparison. Anyway, off the the dentist now to get my fillings put back in.

I'd love a 2nd album because this one captured a 60s/70s vibe. Album 2 can have a 90s vibe "But if Bowie is doing Lou, and Lou is still doing Bowie... Lou is still doing Lou"

...I just wish there was a couple more tracks, especially with Liam sounding as good as he did during these recording sessions. I made a playlist with (I think) all the officially released stuff. The four demos, the album and the Looking Glass Remix and it clocks in at almost 62 minutes.

...The album doesn't know if it wants to be psychedelic rock, blues rock, or pop. Clear lack of creative direction. Ended up enjoying only around 50 percent of it. I'd steer well clear of The Beatles White Album if I were you.

JAR fooled me into thinking it would all be at this level. Still need this album to really imbed That's the weakest track on the album!

...And my point about noel was there's no need to even mention him, why would you try and compare Squire's guitar work to Noel's guitar work. Fucking apples and oranges if ever there was. Wonder how Oasis would have gone if John Squire had replaced Bonehead when he left?

...why can’t he write another acquiesce, Columbia or cloudburst? And why can’t macca write another let it be or hey Jude and instead write rubbish songs? Why don’t they realise these new songs aren’t anywhere near their past glories? Us as fans can see the drop off so why can’t they? I'm sure they can realise that but it doesn't mean they have the inspiration and drive or perhaps even the ability any more to match their former glories. I still enjoy all of Noel's solo albums and he can still bang out a hell of a tune. THINK OF A NUMBER is never going to resonate with the public like LIVE FOREVER or DON'T LOOK BACK IN ANGER but it's better than a heap of Oasis songs. McCartney is enough of a craftsman and musician that he can still piece together a decent solo album but he's not doing much that interest me enough to listen to it more than once or twice. The glory days of LET IT BE or HEY JUDE or LIVE AND LET DIE are long gone. I think his experimental Fireman stuff is way more interesting than his solo albums because he's working in a field that is still new and exciting to him and he's not trying to live up to his past with those side projects. It's not surprising that freedom somehow lead him to create a catchy song like SING THE CHANGES. The only artist I can think of with a lengthy career who is continually matching (I would say exceeding) his early stuff is Bob Dylan. Give me modern Bob over early Bob any day. Having said that, he's had to work at it - he had some lengthy years when he seemed all but washed up.

This is Roadhouse Liam and most of the album feels like one long bloated, bluesy slog -- something you'd hear at a dive bar in Alabama... That's what I love about it.

It’s a crying shame they never played it live. Playing it over the PA is kind of lame when you think about it. FITB should have been the first single from the album. A five track EP featuring the album version and various remixes.

I fucking hope not. Let’s discuss. Beady Eye played many of their own songs live. They did some lengthy tours. We can probably find you some links if you missed them?

No....there is a difference between not liking an album and clearly hating on an album for the sake of it. You can tell by the way it's written. This person wants to hate it. Leron's take is the same. Silliness. The worst this album should receive is a 7 outta 10 and just based on the guitar work, drums and Liams vocals alone garnishes a 7 lol. It's just so obvious what some are trying to do. And my Noel guitar comparison is an absolute fact. Nothing he has done touches the guitars on this album. Nothing.... I'll sit here and wait.. Gotta admit I'm usually "Team Noel" but this album is easily a 9 or 10 from me.

...Lyrics are good at times and others aren't the best, but I don't think they are too bad. You can get past that. My favorite lyric on the album might be "Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, and fuck you too."... The lyrics are fine. Even when they're jokey and slightly weak the band sounds like they're just having fun and making up stuff for a laugh. There's a warm, jamming vibe to the whole thing (a bit Traveling Wilburies in a way).

Apart from the brief bit where Liam recites the colors of the rainbow this is a great, fun album. Easily the best of his Beady Eye or solo career. Production is impeccable. If I had to fault it I'd say it's too short - I could listen to hours of this!
You know it's a great album when you're tapping and singing along on the very first listen!
And another Star Wars lyric! What's not to love here!?
Highlight for me - I'm A Wheel.

While waiting for Liam and John's joint concerts and Definitely Maybe anniversary celebrations, Liam's solo songs may take a break from concert setlists. Assuming an imaginary adaptation of those songs to a live set with John Squire on guitar, which Liam solo songs would you choose? SCORPIO RISING would be great in the setlist and I'd love to hear Squire let loose on GAS PANIC and SLIDE AWAY. And I still think Liam should close his concerts with INSTANT KRAMA. That's a song that would suit his voice and also be a great audience singalong. To be fair though, maybe it's not a great vehicle for lengthy guitar solos.

It has been absolute Radio Silence since Mars to Liverpool. The album is out in 4 days. Who is running this promo camp? Lol Liam and Squire fan will buy it straight away in the first week. If they want to keep it in the charts after that and keep the sales momentum going they are indeed better off holding back on the promotion until after it's actually released.

Looking forward to this week when I come home from work and see this thread jumped from 92 pages to 150 in a few short hours. Lol the best. Although I've enjoyed being on here during a leak when everyone is DMing each other lol I still laugh at that night some Oasis album leaked early on Japan iTunes by accident and people here were frantically trying to locate someone who knew somebody (anybody!) in Japan so they could download it and share it with us. People here were seriously talking about looking up random Japanese phone numbers online and ringing them to try to get whoever answered the phone there to log onto iTunes for them. How I would have loved to have a recording of that phone call. That was a fun evening.

Can't say I've delved much into the world of techno music but I like some of McCartney's Fireman trance stuff (especially some of the remixes). Some of The Chemical Brothers stuff is nice but most is a bit too fast for me. I love Setting Sun but I can't listen to an hour of it. Any recommendations from people here? Looking at darker, slow stuff. Trance, Blade Runner type soundscapes. Sorry, I don't even know quite how to describe it. They were playing some great stuff on the radio the other night from the 1990s (some trance band who only did two albums) and I wrote down the name of the band but lost the bit of paper! Might be too fast for you but Hallucinogen made great dark trance. Some of that's nice but yeah, most of it is a bit too fast for me. Thanks anyway!

This is Andy Bell’s electronic music… GLOK. Might fill the type you are looking for. Two albums and loads of remixes available. If you like it, opens up a whole range of sound like Andrew Weatherall and more. Nice stuff - I'll check out some more. Thanks!

Starting to feel like everyone has heard this album except us lol Well it's got universally great reviews so maybe it would best if they just cancelled the actual release at this point and leave it as some sort of mythical, unreleased masterpiece.
