Is it actually out? Iβve tried looking in a few shops and they only had last months issue.

Big thank you for the scans from overseas, Mr. Sifter, where the magazines come on steamer ships.
Very fun read, great pics, although the album talk was the least interesting part. Loved that he caught some Surreal Liam, my fave. A bit worried about his hips, but more worried about him popping endless ibuprofen on top of alcohol because his liver will not thank him. He should come to LA if he gets serious about surgery -- have an old friend, serious athlete, mid 40s, who had her hip replaced by a bigwig surgeon here who uses a new method and she was already doing stuff a week later. No one would even need to know.
Definitely made me curious about "More Power."

Good interview. Thanks for the links/scans. Bit worrying reading about his health with his hips, arthritis and thyroid! Especially so for me as I have a similar thyroid condition and didn't know arthritis was linked to it

Good interview. I hope his touring schedule is a bit easier in the future. Busy touring and constantly being in pain won't be a good combination.

Pop or Rock stars in constant pain + constant touring.. letβs just say that ibuprofen wonβt be enough π₯² At least his UK tour will be shorter than usual I hope. Bigger shows = less shows, right?..

Hip replacement surgery. Damn.. It reminds me of Tom Petty who also needed one, but he postponed it to continue his tour and the painkillers caught up to him . I hope Liam takes care of this problem asap.

Good interview. I hope his touring schedule is a bit easier in the future. Busy touring and constantly being in pain won't be a good combination. Sadly the money is made in touring and we often see it milked for everything it's worth. To the point where Liam has to pull gigs. There should really be even more responsibility taken now given everything he's said. But more often than not the greed of everyone involved takes over.

Thats weird to read somehow. I kinda don't like the way he talks about these songs. Back then the gallaghers were hyping songs too much but this sounds somehow as if he is not really that interested or into it and I really don't like it, that it seems he gave up songwriting. There are great songs in Liam and one of his songs got him his sooo career so maybe he should not forget about his abilities or let people talk them down.

Which is two more than the last time around. I think it genuinely might have some different stuff on it that he likes but isnβt sure of how it will be received and heβs playing it down. That is unusual for Liam but not necessarily a bad thing. He has spent a couple of months in the studio with Wyatt after all.

Thank you very much! I enjoyed that.
"Bonehead's in the live band now." So is that confirmation or did we already know that or does he just mean for the big UK shows?

I've only read bits from the interview on Stop Crying Your Heart Out and as for Liam needed a hip replacement, I just hope that he can manage the pain ok if he won't have a replacement.

Anyway, I'll buy the new Mojo magazine when I go into town again and read the full interview when I get it.

There are great songs in Liam and one of his songs got him his sooo career so maybe he should not forget about his abilities or let people talk them down. Liam has always resisted explaining his songs in interviews, though. There's a hilarious interview with him from when Songbird came out where the interviewer really wants to get even one line about Liam's process or thoughts about the song, and he won't even give her that. And another with Edith Bowman circa AYW where he says the songs on it are very personal, "maybe too personal," but when she presses him, he says he doesn't know what they're about. Whereas I, who have never met Liam or any of the people in his life, feel like the intent and meaning of a lot of them is fairly obvious!
So I don't think you can judge his investment in his songs by what he says about them. He lets them stand on their own, but that doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't care about them.

Yep, if his hips are that bad now, the pain will just grind on. At the very least, he should go see some hotshot surgeons when he has a break, just for his life, not even for touring. Cortisone shots might help short term but they're not a solution.

Liam's hip replacement comments have made the news today as I noticed they made front page headlines of The Scum (sorry to mention this toilet paper) and it's in a few other news papers I think as well.

Is anyone else getting the feeling that Liam doesn't seem to be too excited about this album release ? Based on the interview it sounds like he is only pushing how different it is and already talking album #4 being straight up punk and sounded more excited about that

Been discussed in the other thread--consensus being that he's mostly unsure of how people will respond to it so he's making it clear he's not married to this path if people don't like it. We still just don't know how "different" the deeper tracks are, but very excited to hear them after BD.
That punk album has been threatened several times since the start of his solo career but not convinced it will ever happen. The most punk songs Liam ever sang were on Definitely Maybe, but even those aren't pure punk. He's always going to be caught between the snarl and the sugar, which is good, because he captures something no one else can right in that spot.
