His album is hardly rock'n'roll though 😂😂😂 Was WTSMG rock ‘n’ roll, in your opinion? WTSMG is not the album in question 🤘

The Raconteurs album got to number 1 in the U.S. with 88,000 sales in a country with 327 million people in it. That shows how dead the market is over there. That’s the real trick. It’s not really dead. People are listening to music more than every before and listening to a greater volume of material than ever thought possible. It’s just not in the traditional format we are accustomed to. They haven’t figured out a way to make money out of streaming. Well they have for the record companies but artists got a shitty deal which is what people like Thom Yorke and Taylor Swift were banging on about 3-4 years ago and everyone told them to shut up. Who is laughing now??? This put an odd image into my head. Thanks for that. X

Liam's singles really do badly in the UK, huh?

Liam's singles really do badly in the UK, huh? They do and they don’t. They push a fair amount of physical vinyl singles but so much of chart power is dominated by streams which I don’t think either Gallagher does well in. Young man’s game.

True plus the fact you only get a shitty etched 7" as the pyshical release. A B-side with some exclusive content, that would sell singles.. With a good song of course.

Liam's singles really do badly in the UK, huh? They actually do pretty well, not many 47 year olds manage to get anywhere near the top 50 .....its a different World now

They actually do pretty well, not many 47 year olds manage to get anywhere near the top 50 .....its a different World now I think both brothers are able to do that because of the vinyl aspect. They have an older fan base that is use to "owning" things and will buy the vinyls that really pump on their sales. Most of the top 40 don't do that. They just do streaming and iTunes. I wonder how the brothers would be in the charts if you take away the physical sales. Just curious.

We didn't see many 50 year olds in the charts in the 90s either did we? Got fook all to do with streaming.
Either people who are listeners of the 50 years olds don't listen/buy music or their music has turned shite and generic.
And to be honest wouldn't a casual listener rather listen to Time Flies than whatever niche crap the 50 year old Gallagher's are making?
My 15 year old son for example says he and his mates often listen to Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova alongside the other grime or techno shite that's popular at the the moment at partys, but have they time to spare for cosmic pop and Shockwaves? Fook no

Not a fantastic one, but pretty decent. Some numbers: WMWN charted at #3 on the "streaming only" album chart. Second week at #9 Once has charted at #49, #63 and #83 in the TOP 100 with no physical release One of us charted at #56 in the TOP 100 when its vinyl was released. Then, it has charted at #50 and #69 only with streaming and itunes Now That I Found You charted last week at #61 with no physical release

Fook no Weren't the Stones and McCartney still having top 20's up until the 2000's? Not in the US but UK charts.
Granted that was the time of the maxi-singles so you got more bang for your buck.

I think people kinda forget how big a top 40 singles is. The fact that Liam has had multiple is great. Especially since he is way past his commercial prime, and those singles have been out for months.

5 top75 hits with AYW 4 top 75 hits with WMWN so far
most of them with no physical release that could easily add a few more places to the top (LG is a big seller in physical form always) and with split releases (physical-stream). Wall of glass could easily be a top 20 dare to say a top 10 hit if its first release (stream-physical) was in the same day. FWIW and Once could easily be top 20 hits if they had a proper release (physical form)

I don´t know if this has been posted here, but today i´ve just read that Wall of Glass was certified Gold last August. Impressive, what a big hit for Liam. Last Gallagher´s song certified Gold is "Little by Little". So no songs of DBTT, DOYS, Beady Eye or Noel with such an honour.
Gold: +400k total sales
