Maybe it's just me but the vinyl does sound like it's mixed better. Just ripped my copy.

Shockwave is a good song but not a strong first single for Liam´s second album, especially after he said it was going to be "stoogie". I like the "BRMC" feeling, but it fails to exploit it. Somehow the problem with Liam´s music is that his voice is the main trademark, which we know has seen much better days. Therefore, don´t expect any guitar magic simply because his band lacks guitar heroes (actually I don´t like the band), and in any case, they are not participating in the songwriting process. Lyrics are fine, they have a narrative. Def much better than Noel´s nonsense.

Liam needs to change the lyric a pebble in to sea to a potato in the sea when he sings it live.

The lyrics are by far the weakest part. It's so obvious and tedious, really. Liam's at his best when he sings about nothing, yet everything all at once. Like Noel. Noel's 'nonsense' is great too, just different. Should be enough to keep everyone happy atm.

Heard it on the radio for the first time this morning - thought it sounded like a perfect radio friendly first single

It's been a grower. Gave it a seven after the first day. But I'm liking it more and more.
Loving the way he sings "and the pain you feel is washing over me". It's like his vocals are fighting the guitar for the spotlight, and winning.

Fantano puts it in the BEST tracks of week! Reviews it at 18:55. Now that's unexpected! Saw his Weekly Track Roundup of last week and he's put Rattling Rose in the worst tracks bunch. Said it was bland, same old Noel etc. Wonder what he thinks of Black Star Dancing, since he hasn't reviewed that one...

I was actually expecting a positive review, he gave As You Were a 7/10 and a good review, and Shockwave is very much in the vein of the punchy singles off that album. I was surprised he put Rattling Rose in the worst tracks, though, I thought it was dead-set for the meh section, seeing as he seems to like Chasing Yesterday.

I was expecting Shockwave to have a very similar reaction to WOG – "meh". Thought he'd given AYW a 6/10 though? I too thought Rattling Rose was going into the meh section, even though I don't recall Fantano saying anything positive about CY – only that it was bland, more of the same, Noel Gallagher, The Beatles etc.

Still, that's higher than My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy And I seem recall him saying that Noel had made some pleasant and tuneful albums, and showing a picture of Chasing Yesterday in the background. The good news is that in a Let's Argue segment recently, he said that he found it annoying that people compared Oasis to The Beatles and that it wasn't a valid criticism when they sounded almost nothing alike. He took the mick out of people who say they were just Beatles rip-offs.

Thought Fantano might like it, but after his review of Rattling Rose, I began thinking he'd rip it to shreds.

Best vocals right now studio wise since 1998 imo .. Song is very solid.. catchy .. rocker that seems to be getting good praise from Critics.. his next single will most likely be what they feel the best song on the album.. Shockwave is alot better than Wall of Glass.. Much better than some Oasis lead singles like Hindu Times and Shock of the Lightning

It has the potential to be nice little punk song but it's a bit too slow and the chorus could be from Lyla or The Hindu Times or a lot of Oasis tunes. I like it though, it's probably a step back from Wall of Glass as a 1st single which I thought was a more progressive path. Doesn't change the fact it's a good tune and it reminds me of some of the joyful Oasis songs. 7/10 I would like the album to sound more like this and the live version of Greedy Soul. Bring it on down vibes would make the album a 9

Black star is the worst Gallagher related single... not close

Shockwave enters at #9 in midweeks today
Great for Liam, but I think it will be out of Top 20 at the end of the week. On Spotify charted at 87 and 139 last two days, vinyl sales were huge on Friday but i don´t think it will sell a lot during the week, so it will be very tough for him to overtake Wall of Glass (peak at #19)
