Yes it will be harder once the comeback glow fades. I think four things would help. 1) Truly great songs. At least a lead single as undeniable as WOG (or hopefully even better) to force the public to pay attention each time he’s back. 2) High profile public appearances in which he comes off well. Whether it’s a live performance that he nails vocally (like One Love) or funny clips that showcase his trademark humor (like the Apple cider vinegar video) or opportunities to humanize him and show his softer side (Gogglebox), all of these things show the public the parts of Liam we love and stop them from dismissing him as an idiot. 4) Not rushing a new album. After the AYW cycle closes out, Liam should all but disappear for a little while until the next album (yes even from Twitter.) This will give people time to miss him and then be truly excited for his next round. 5) avoid cancelling/postponing three sold-out shows in three major cities in the u.s. You can’t post that bro! Stop focusing on the gigs that didn’t happen. Focus on the ones that did!!! Rock n roll!

No doubt he'll go straight into second album after big gigs next summer. Strike while the irons hot etc. I'd like to see him try something with a modern twist. A Grime flavoured crossover album maybe lol. Didn't Wiley have a meeting with him at Glastonbury to discuss ideas for working together? DHTBTW showed he's open to trying something a bit more up to date although whether he's willing to do a whole album like that is another matter. I think he should definitely do some collaborations.. he's proven his success as a solo artist so he'll likely get some offers. It seems very likely that he will do something with grime and maybe something with Ashcroft or someone similar. I'd definitely like to see him step out his comfort zone. I think the biggest achievement is that he's realized that he can do it without Noel or oasis/beady eye... which if you think about the fact that he spent @20 years with basically the same band.. that's a huge obstacle to overcome. Also, he seems happy in his private life... that definitely helps. But, he does have a tendency to self destruct... that's still a huge concern of mine. This is the main concern I think. His story at the moment is nothing short of miraculous. He came back from the dead in astonishing form. Really I think his biggest enemy now is himself. I think it's good for him that Debbie is his manager and she does seem to be with him pretty much all of the time. But how long has he been with her? I think if something were to happen with him and Debbie, that could be big trouble for his professional life. Hopefully he has matured now because if we go by his past, there's reason to be worried.

I must be honest, I’m not exactly sure what grime is, but I assume it’s a form of rap? In the case I’m even remotely close, I’d be as shocked as I’ve ever been in my entire life if Liam did an actual collaboration with a rapper.

I hope he tries something a bit different rather than just same again. Can't see an actual collaboration I agree, but maybe working with a producer from that genre to get a different sound. He's said many times he likes the big beats from 'ip 'op music so maybe he could find something he likes in that. Mind you I get the feeling he'll work with Andrew Wyatt again and probably end up with an album full of Chinatowns lol.

One thing i've realised from browsing this forum is most of you dont really have a clue and your predictions to do with both Gallaghers are usually very wrong. I think the best thing he can do is get back in a studio ASAP and keep this ball rolling. The name is out there now, Liam Gallagher singing Oasis songs is something that will last a very long time. But will people only get an appetite for hearing Oasis songs as a nostalgic /trendy thing every five/ten years or something? It's why I think Liam needs some really strong material on album number two

Of course he can, here's why - 1) He has co-writers, so the overall quality of any new material will be higher/better than him writing solely 2) There aren't any new Rock n Roll stars, music has changed, there will always be a want/need for someone like him 3) My son who's 17 and his mates are all into Grime, all of them are desperate for their 1st Liam gig (Cardiff) because of who he is, what the gigs are like. None of them would open the window to hear Noel is he was playing in their back garden. 4) Liam is older, more mature and part of his appeal is that he'll go off the rails every now and then. You can tell how much he's loved being back in the spotlight, he also knows as he said before the record came out that if this failed he'd be finished, he knows what to do to sustain it. 5) Liam knows being back is getting under Noel's skin, he knows that for any chance of Oasis to get back together he needs to be out performing Noel for Noel's ego to consider reforming, while Noel is the 'bigger' star he won't entertain it.
Liam has a higher selling album and has sold out bigger gigs more quickly that Noel has ever done, of course he can sustain a solo career. Fans like my son and his mates go to the shows to see Liam, experience the atmosphere, hear the Oasis songs being sung by the man who made them. They and all the other teenagers don't give a toss about who wrote them, or all this critical acclaim bollocks Noel is coming out with to justify shit sales. They want the experience - Liam gives them that. Noel never can

I think this is Liam's album in the sun so to speak. I doubt he'll top it but he's done enough to keep making music for the forseeable future, that was the biggest challenge and its mission accomplished.

My instincts say for Liam to do another album pretty quickly - next year? - to capitalise.
He’s caught a bit of a moment here with the kids and that’s realisitically never going to happen again. He’ll be 60 in 15 years!

Noel's solo peak was album no 1 44 years old
Liams solo peak was album no 1 44 years old
Album No 2 will not outshine as you were .
This is peak Liam right now

This is peak Liam right now I think a difference between them that is overlooked is the fact that Liam is on a major label and the resources that might be employed to promote a follow up and build momentum could be light years from Noel's DIY approach. Not saying Warner will, Liams not exactly a Global brand compared to some others acts but you never know, the resources are there.

Basically, both Gallaghers are guaranteed a profitable touring life even if their albums don't always do the business commercially. They're in the post-Beatles stage of their careers: Their trail-blazing era is over, and they'll both put out albums that will be warmly received by the faithful, and pick up a few new fans, but really, people want to hear them sing the songs that made them great in the first place.
I very much like what Macca's been doing this decade, and look forward to hearing new material live, but really, you know I'm there for the stuff he first sang 50 years ago. Noel and Liam will keep going in that direction, and they'll be in good company.
Or for an example outside the Fabs: You go to a Weller gig to hear Jam tunes done right, not for Mother Ethiopia.

I would like to think so, but I doubt it; he'll probably have a few more peaks but I would guess that it would slowly trail off. Props to Liam though he has really drawn in the younger crowd, especially since a lot of Grime artists have "endorsed" him. He's on their radar, and even if they don't really like his music they'll go to his concerts because of how much of a party they are. It helps that he's really active on Twitter, so even if he isn't really doing anything he's still in your face. People like Liam and Noel are both so outspoken that they naturally create conversation even if they aren't making music. Like someone else said, Liam's on a major label and they'd do whatever they can to make sure he makes them money.

This is peak Liam right now Maybe, other difference is that peak Noel was the 1st album as he is the songwriter, the one that everyone thought would be the success and it has diminished album by album. I'd guess that most people didn't think Liam had a half decent album in him let alone AYW, I think Liam will keep the diehard fans and pick up more new ones (smaller numbers obviously) as he'll deviate slightly away from meat & veg rock n roll (Doesn't Have to be That Way) Plus Liam is showing signs of changing the set list and if we're to believe his twitter replies he wants to do all sorts of tunes that he's sung which will keep it fresher and more interesting

5) avoid cancelling/postponing three sold-out shows in three major cities in the u.s. You can’t post that bro! Stop focusing on the gigs that didn’t happen. Focus on the ones that did!!! Rock n roll! Hopefully next time, Warner and his management will be a bit more wise with the tour schedule. I get the impression that this was all basically an attempt to milk Liam's name for all its worth, and it turns out to have been successful beyond their wildest dreams. Hopefully they will protect him a bit more next time. as for songs I think he just needs to work with Kurstin and Wyatt, Kurstin especially has the knack for writing all sorts of different songs, for example both Wall of Glass and DHTBTW are very different but both suit Liam down to the ground.

Definitely think there has been some work going on in background for next album. If they are looking for a quick turnaround on #2 then it would make sense. I know Liam has said he doesn't think about writing songs while he is touring but then when has either of them told the full truth. And anyway that doesn't stop others working in ideas in the meantime.
