I honestly think the lyrics are fantastic, almost Dylan-esque. I don't think the lines themselves are bad. I actually think they're really good. But I'm not a fan of directive songs where the subject of the song is super overt. They kinda feel like the Beatles songs where they'd write to each other. Not bad lyrics per se, but there's a lot of baggage.

Does anyone else think it would be better a bit slower?
As it is it feels like Liam is just reading off a lyric sheet. Which is ironic seen as this was supoosed to be his big aplogy and the song that, even if he didnt write it, he feels the most connection with. As it is (or as you were) Wall Of Glass feels much more like its being delivered passionately and with so much intent that it genuinely becomes Liams song.
FWIW feels too forced to me as it is. I think its a good song with great verses but i just dont like the production. It isnt awful production but it just feels a tad forced to me at the minute. Slower with more chance to deliver each line with more emotion would have been a better approach IMO. Songs like Back after The Break and Off at The Next Exit certainly arent any worse than this.

Have wondered to meself if some might judge it differently within the setting of an album.

This song is really growing on me. Really disliked it at first, but I love it now. Great live version on that tv show.

I quite like it. The vocal is great, the verses carry most of the weight, and it is certainly going to help him get more radio play, especially with the performance he did for Colbert. I do think it is a little overproduced (a bit too much "cheese" so to speak). Oh and the bit about the bird getting the arrows? Didn't like that. Melodically its fine but I love birds, so not a pleasant image there

Of all the tracks officially released, this is his first dud. Gave it a second listen and I was already bored to death.
The smaller and more compact and punchy tunes are working better for him at the moment.

Finally got around to listening to this song. I must say, I'm not impressed. It's just so...obvious. It's so obviously the "big" single from As You Were, so obviously tailor-made for radio, so obviously a ballad meant to "move" people, so obviously an apology song to Noel, so obviously exploiting people's knowledge of the Gallagher feud to shift units by making you think "aww, look, they really do love each other!!", the verses are so obviously verses, the chorus is so obviously a chorus, the middle eight so obviously a middle eight, and so on. Because of this, it feels incredibly generic. Soulless, even. The Robbie Williams comparison is apt.
Don't get me wrong, I still like this song, and it'll probably be the hit that Liam so desperately needs right now. But I can't help but feel that if the song had been a little less direct, a little less obvious, and more subtle and clever, then it could've been a masterpiece.

It's hard to say that I hate this song because it is hard to hate song like this. It's hard to go wrong with this kind of songwriting and to write really bad song.
But this song killed all my excitement for this album. I feel cheated. Liam gave us this 8161618 times already. Verse-chorus-verse-chorus, 4/4, basic 4 chords with most basic strumming pattern. Everybody who knows few chords can play Am-Am-G-G-F-F-C-C and sing something while playing that and it will sound ok and not that far from For What It's Worth.
Abu Dhabi Do is actually not that much worse than For What It's Worth. If it is worse at all.
It starts at 00:30

Best Liam-penned tune since Boy with the Blues. Impossible, as it wasn't written by Liam.

Liam's contribution to the track:
Warner Bros: Liam, we're thinking of writing you an apology song so that people will think you're trying to make peace with Noel. It will restore your public image and it will probably go viral.
Liam: What's that?
Warner Bros: It means it will cause a sensation over the internet.
Liam: I don't give a fuck. Just make sure it sounds like something out of Mind Games, d'you know what I mean?

Exactly like this, but with the exception that I bet my ass that this song was not written especially for Liam. It's probably been in Aldred's unreleased catalogue for months, if not years. Then thay sat together, maybe changed a few words or lines. Liam added a word or two, got songwriting credits and that's it.

That it was cynical PR scam or that Aldred happened to have a retro ballad hanging around for years? Or both? I suppose it doesn't matter, Liam having absolutely nothing to do with it would suite either of you.

Consider that Liam said in the Chris Moyles interview that this was the most Oasis sounding track on the album. Disappointing to say the least.
