There was talk about RS in one of the other threads so here's a RS thread! Not sure I put this in the right subforum, so mods, do what you gotta do! Now, since we are all civilised people here, I would like for us to avoid the talk of game cracking, bypassing the Real Tone cable, CDLCs already released as official DLCs and similar unsavory piratey stuff.
Share opinions, CDLCs, discuss instruments used, discounts for the game on various sites, RS twitch streamers you like or whatever comes to mind!
I bought my RS on a sale over at the humble store for 5 dollars or so, but sadly, I have no guitar or the cable yet. If anyone has experience playing RS with a guitar with less than 24 frets (RS expect 24 so) and/or semi hollow and hollow guitar, please do share!

I think most guitars have 22 frets so I'm sure it will be fine. Oh and about that cable. I don't think bypassing is illegal because it's openly discussed on Reddit and Steam forums. Reddit even has that no-cable guide in their sidebar. Of course I want to get the real cable because it's probably better.
This game is fun. Much harder than tabs at first but I'm sure I'll learn that. I just bought Oasis and Stone Roses DLC packs because they were in 40% sale. Also grabbed Cherub Rock DLC because almost every CDLC uses its package ID.
Oh and if you're used to reading normal tabs, you can invert the "in-game tab".

It's not illegal per se, however, if playing on Steam, Steam reserves the right to ban you for any kind of tampering with the game files, which the no cable patch does. So if you ask me, better safe than sorry and I wouldn't wanna be responsible for someone getting banned from their Steam account. Yes, the cable is pricey, however it has it's perks. It just works better and supports multiplayer, meaning you can bring a buddy with a bass and jam together. If you own the game legally but no cable yet, I'd rather suggest pirating it until you get the cable, just in case Steam is an asshole. Did you yet notice how condescending RS is? "Make sure you're using the guitar." No, smartass, I'm using an ukulele! Did you try emulating the bass? I'm curious at how that works. Also, don't forget customsforge! They have I Am The Resurrection there, according to my buddy, it's fun to play on bass. Can't wait to play it myself when I get the guitar because I obviously wanna be John Squire when I grew up \o/ And CDLCs are always 40% off during Steam sales so keep an eye on the fall and winter sales

I have a strat and with 22 frets the Only Song that uses a 24th fret is(of the ones I own) is QoTSA My God Is The Sun, I just bend the note and hope For the best on that one.

It's a great way to get familiar with the game and the guitar as well, if you're starting from 0.

That's how Alex Turner playa the song live, you can play it within the first frets and opens strings and it will registre the note as correcto(if you do play the same note the B or 7th fret of the low E/red strings can be played as the 2nd fret of the A strings/yellow).

I need a suggestion for an Oasis song that's fun to play on bass. I asked a friend to play me something from BHN, don't remember what and he gave up mid song because he was bored. I vowed to find him a fun Oasis song to play because I keep requesting I Am The Resurrection and he'll kill me one day.

DLBIA is great song if you want to practice chords. Changes between C, G, Am, E and F, Fm barre chords.
Knocking On Heaven's Door and Paint It Black also good.

Hey, @driver7, what kind of cable do you use for right now? Is it just a simple USB to 3.5mm cable or the usual guitar cable with a 2.5mm adapter plugged into line-in? Or a third option?
(Getting my guitar tomorrow, so I'm rushing to get the cable!!)

(Getting my guitar tomorrow, so I'm rushing to get the cable!!) It's 1/4" guitar cable with 1/4" -> 3.5mm adaper. I'll get the Real Tone cable eventually but I read they are out of stock in the whole Europe at the moment New batch should be coming after summer. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=709341629I used this guide. It's really simple, IMO.

I mean, I know it's Ubisoft and all, but what's a lot is a lot, RT cable should be a lot cheaper. Any latency issues, background noise with your cable? I'm kinda nervous about all this, I know I need Rocksmith to keep myself interested in guitar playing (short attention span, wait, what was I talking about anyway?) so I'd hate to buy a guitar but not be able to play RS.

I tried microphone port first because it was easier to use but the sound was useless. Line-in works without any problems. I tried both, first line-in then I tried the mic in, while saying Hail Mary to myself. I suspect the problem is that the adapter is converting the signal into stereo, but sadly I can't test that until after the 27th. It might also be that something is interfering with the cable, like the power lines or the jumble of cables behind my pc, because I get noise before I even touch the guitar, but I tried plugging it into my laptop, which is positioned quite a ways from anything that could interfere. I'm just scared that in a few months I will buy the Real Tone cable and it still won't work. As if it's not enough that I have fret buzz on two strings and no one to fix it
