New quote from Noel: "Noel Gallagher has called his brother Liam a "fat man in an anorak" and says there is no chance of Oasis reuniting.
He told the Daily Star newspaper's Wired column: "If they want to hear old Oasis songs they're being played by a fat man in an anorak somewhere, you know, with shorts on so they can go and see that."
I really dislike the denigrating way Noel speaks about his own brother. I know Liam's not too friendly either, but that's clearly a reaction on the way Noel treats him. It's sad really, Noel should be bigger then that.

Noel's whole act has grated on me this last year or so, but I don't really see how a little jibe like that is worse than Noel constantly calling him a vagina or anything else he's said

Then mix into that the current trend for people getting offended on behalf of people who themselves wouldn't be offended (case in point: Liam's humorous reply in the post above yours). ...Also, why should Noel apologise? He wouldn't mean it--he clearly said what he said with the intention of being as insulting to Liam as possible--so what would be the point of going through the formality of a public apology? It seems to me some people just get off on having some semblance of control on how public figures behave. It must be a power thing... Social media scares me a bit, man.

Listening to Holy Mountain at the IOW Festival. 'Good evening Isle of Wight. We are the High Flying Birds!' Who is this guy? This isn't Noel Gallagher. Embarrassing isn't it. All this saluting nonsense at the start of AYNIL too, urgh.

I liked when Liam went "We are Beady Eye and this aint no folk band" or some shit. Sounds daft (and I don't really know why I care), but saying 'We are the High Flying Birds' is cringe as fuck. They are band in name only. I don't tell pals that I'm going to see the 'High Flying Birds'. If Noel now sees them as part of a band then that is cool. The phrasing was just so cringe I think it gave me AIDS. Don't tell Peggy

It's sad really, Noel should be bigger then that. Is it? The bloke spent two years calling Noel a 'potato' on Twitter and sings about his wife in the live version of Greedy Soul. They're both big boys, they can both take it and both give it in equal measure.

I for one much prefer Noel's new live approach. It's fun going to his gigs. Gigs should be fun, and not about a load of aggressive middle aged blokes jumping into each other.
Thankfully, Liam's managed to stay away from that crowd too - mainly because so many younger people are into him as well.
Remember going to see the Roses in 2016 at the Etihad. Went two nights, first night down the front with a girl I was seeing at the time. Fucking horrid. Load of bald Leeds fans having had their first pill in 10 years and jumping about looking for a fight. No ta.

Don't forget it depends entirely who has said it as well. All very fickle. At least until someone shares a political view anyway... Modern life man.

The BSD 12" mix has to be the biggest waste of space...

does anyone remember how good this was? I hope he plays it live with his band I've never heard this before, tbh, but I like the 70s rock vibes I get from it. The acoustic approach brings out the groove melody well and the little piano & electric guitar flourishes sound cool. Noel sounds just right for a cover like this too.

The BSD 12" mix has to be the biggest waste of space... When he first said EPs I was like "fuck yeah, 5-6 new songs per release!" Then I see its 3 new tracks and 2 remixes. Not exactly what I had in mind. Its more like a traditional single from the 90s and early 00s with 3 tracks.

Really the only newer song I listen to regularly is: If Love Is The Law, love it....
High Flyiing Bird note: I'm obsessed with the bird bath and bird feeder in my yard, or the garden, for our British members.....I clean the bird bath daily, and fill the bird feeder a couple times a week......I'm to the point of caring about the type of bird seed in the bird feeder....
God bless.

If Love is the Law might be the best Gallagher tune since the 90s. Such a fun tune.

Noel absolutely nails SCYHO live. Always helps when you have good backing vocals with you too.
