Liam's vocals sound ABSOLUTELY AWFUL on Won't Let You Down.

Just improved the running time of BHN by deleting Magic Pie. Sounds a lot better.

Just improved the running time of BHN by deleting Magic Pie. Sounds a lot better. I like that idea. That makes I Hope I Think I Know come in at the right time to pick up the energy and then Fade In-Out sets the theatrics of the middle portion well while Be Here Now and All Around the World build up the hype, while Don't Go Away brings it back down to earth and IGBM finds a nice space in between before the Reprise reflects on everything. Magic Pie just fucks everything up and only gives the haters more ammo.

I'm in the minority I guess, I can't stand LTBL. We're at least two in that minority. The production is cloyingly schmaltzy, a missed opportunity for a new Liam/Noel duet; can't believe they released that as a single.

One of the worst Oasis songs for me!

I've been thinking of most underrated Oasis song, and I think I've got it.
I Hope, I Think, I Know. Breakneck speed pop and a sensational vocal from Liam, it would have worked really well as a single. It doesn't outstay its welcome like a few of the Be Here Now tunes and it would have been a worthy inclusion on Stop The Clocks.
That compilation is the best ever and distils everything great about Oasis in 18 tracks and I wouldn't change it as all the track selections make sense and flow perfectly. But if we're being picky, obviously the Be Here Now omission is the one error. It's a fair point that even D'You Know What I Mean would disrupt the flow. But I Hope I Think I Know would flow brilliantly in this compilation and I'd probably swap it for Lyla if I was being pushed (the weakest on the album but does flow well).
In general though, it's a great song and one that I feel isn't taken heed of by hardcore fans or the band itself sadly.

There's been a lot of talk about BHN lately so I thought I'd do a radical BHN tracklisting that subverts some of the ideas floating around here:
Be Here Now Stand By Me I Hope I Think I Know D'You Know What I Mean? My Big Mouth The Girl in the Dirty Shirt Stay Young (or Fade In-Out) Don't Go Away Angel Child All Around the World It's Getting Better (Man!!) AATW Reprise

I wish the bass was more prominent on the 90s records I really love the bass in Cast No Shadow. In the last choruses you can hear it bubbling under the surface. Same, every time it gets to that point i have to hum along with it.

Was reading an old thread and saw this: I haven't listened to Wonderwall on ecstasy but maybe I should try it since it's apparently mixed to sound good on MDMA Oh im starting to get it now. There's so much room in the production, it's so airy and all the instruments and vocals are crisp clear and smooth.

Oasis should have done a tour where they played DM or MG from start to finish.
That would be something cool for Liam to do actually. Could get various guests to come on for certain songs.

The Pre chorus is classic Noel. Could do without the rest of it.

The chorus is just so bad, it's mad the song actually made the album lol.
And the vocals...Good Lord.

First two albums Oasis could do no wrong. Everything they touched turned to gold. They were never bigger than during the build up to the release of BHN. DYKWIM came out first and was great. Id heard My Big Mouth live at Loch Lomond so i knew what to expect. The third song would be the first unheard song off the album. As I put it in my CD player and pressed play I was so excited to listen to the album. Then Magic Pie started playing and as i listened i thought to myself 'what the hell is this shit'.
Hated the song ever since. It was the moment the bubble burst and Oasis became just another band to me
Kinda lost interest after that and only really started getting back into them during a trip to the US prior to DOYS when I shared a apartment with a couple of guys and the only cd we had was an copy of Definitely Maybe. Good times.
Still, fuck Magic Pie.

Seems a lot are talking about Magic Pie, Id say im neutral.
Meaning i dont love it and feel it should have been a b-side, but i still listen to it every now and again. It isnt my least favourite on BHN either, i prefer it to Fade In-Out.
But yes , i do think Stay Young wouldve been a better choice

If Noel shortened some of the Be Here Now Songs and added some of b-sides from the b-side albums including Masterplan, half the world away and underneath the sky it would have been a Biblical 3rd Record

The chorus is just so bad, it's mad the song actually made the album lol. And the vocals...Good Lord. It's also worth noting that track 3 on Definitely Maybe was Live Forever, and track 3 on Morning Glory was Wonderwall, so it's almost like he was going out of his way to insult the listener. Saying that though, I do genuinely enjoy Magic Pie!
