Hm, never felt the western vibes there. I find Pass Me Down The Wine pretty western-y though, but don't ask me why. "I don't see no shine, today is just a daydream, tomorrow we'll be cast away". That part is mega western. Okay, but lyrics never affect my impressions of songs. It could go “sweaty men in Stetson hats, swinging doors and Spanish bandits” and I still wouldn’t feel the western vibes.

The Cage is another Oasis song which is similar in sound to FIO with that Bon Jovi western vibes.

Noel’s not a good guitarist my arse. He always, always, always kills Supersonic live.
The live outro is one of my favorite Oasis guitar sounds - similar to Columbia and perhaps even Some Might Say.

*The video does not belong to the audio. It doesn't? My bad. You’re right. Thought the video was the Budokan gig. Fixed my previous post. Thanks. Fucking incredible performance. The both of them.

Even though Oasis is no longer in the forefront of my music listening and I've expanded my tastes, it's still refreshing to come back to the boys and listen to the songs in their aggressive rock power with strong pop writing sensibilities that means no nonsense and brings people to hype them up and enjoy life.
Few bands that have come about in the last 15-25 years have possessed such a pure rock sound with strong pop sensibilities that not only makes their music accessible to the masses but delectible for rock fans who want something good to jam out to and rock to, while also relating to the themes of the lyrics, especially in the first two albums.
I still think back to the lyrics in Live Forever on some rough days in college & working:
"Maybe I will never be, all the things that I'd like to be, but now is not the time to cry, now's the time to find out why."
Those lines mean a lot because it can be tough trying to figure out what's coming next and what everything holds, but there's something to be uncovered and you gotta keep going. Get up off the floor and believe in life, innit?

Live Forever always reminds me of one of my first GFs/loves when I was a teen around 13/14 lol.
"I think you're the same as me We see things they'll never see"
Always used to rewind this and think of her lol.
That's music.

I listened to the original live forever studio track for the first time in a few months. I'd been listening to live versions by Oasis/Liam, but not the actual track. Every time I come back to that recording I realize how amazing Liam's vocal track is.

Be here now has gotta be the most bad ass album ever. Listening to it right now. Yeah, Magic Pie and All Around The World carry on for a touch too long, but apart from these minor inconveniences, it's such an epic album. Brilliant, raspy vocals and fantastic songs from all kinds of categories. You've got some bad-ass ones, such as My Big Mouth, more emotional ones like Don't Go Away, and even cheerful ones that just lift your mood right up (IGBM!!). It's got everything.

Noel's guitar! What a power-house Oasis were in the early years.

Noel's guitar! What a power-house Oasis were in the early years. Whooo yes! And Liam's vocals are on fire with that clean punk edge he had back in the day. The snarl he developed is alright, but I always thought that distinctly British clean punk voice he put on in some of the 1994 shows was peak Liam. I wish he had just kept his voice well but damn are clips like these great to hear. My favorite will always be this gig: It's like listening to Definitely Maybe live to a "T". If I could get in a timeline and go back to some gigs, that would be one of those. I envy every person in that golf club that night

I wish the boys had done My Big Mouth as a big fuck off, kickass lead single, instead of D'You Know What I Mean?
Having DYKWIM be the lead single took away from the essence of the song, in that it should've been something waiting for fans when they popped open BHN the first time and been feeling the anticipation being realized of getting what could be the biggest record of their lives. Then after that big song, you get the lead single that catches people and gives you something you can jam out to as the album truly starts.
Not to mention, it was the song played at Knebworth so you'd get people excited about having heard the first single at such a big venue and give fans that honor. Lots of potential was there for them to release MBM as the lead single; either that or Stay Young.

Untouchable. Liam sounds and looks excellent here. Noel's backing vocals improve the song immensely. I wish it was like this on the album.

I wish the bass was more prominent on the 90s records I really love the bass in Cast No Shadow. In the last choruses you can hear it bubbling under the surface.
