18. Force Of Nature ( not as bad as some say but definitely below average) 17. Love Like A Bomb ( shitty filler from DBTT which features the poorest Liam vocals ever. Crap) 16. Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is ( I enjoy listening to it a couple of times a year, but not worthy of any top-XX list) 15. Guess God Thinks I’m Abel ( nice song, one of Liam's finest, but it probably wouldn't fit in my list) 14. Bag It Up ( great DOYS track, a shame it was never played live) 13. Stop Crying Your Heart Out ( I find it a bit annoying after all these years, but it deserves its place in the list) 12. The Turning ( top 5 post-BHN stuff imho) 11. Keep The Dream Alive ( no thanks... dull as fuck!!) 10. The Importance Of Being Idle ( best track on DBTT) 9. Who Feels Love? ( love the mood of this. It'd fit for sure in my personal top 15 list) 8. Falling Down ( best track on DOYS and my 2nd favourite post-BHN song) 7. Turn Up The Sun ( Andy's best effort in Oasis. Great one except for a couple of dodgy lyrics) 6. Songbird ( nice little tune, but I'd rank it after many others here...) 5. Gas Panic! ( probably my favourite post-BHN song) 4. The Shock Of The Lightning ( top 5 place well deserved) 3. Lyla ( very good tune but mildly annoying after a few listens. 10th-15th place imho) 2. The Hindu Times ( the demo was miles better. Still good but it doesn't deserve this 2nd place) 1. Go Let It Out ( I really like GLIO but I can tell at least 10 songs I'd rather have at #1) I'll try to make my top 15 list later. Not that anyone cares

GREAT!
Finally a list, that just does not use the always used usual suspects! Great to see, that someone sees the heart in "guess god thinks I`m Abel" and the summary of "keep the dream alive" is great!

The lack of I'm Outta Time is surprising, especially considering the fact a song like Love Like A Bomb made the list. The rest I can agree with, although Lyla's placement is definitely too high in my opinion, while SCYHO and The Turning deserved better.
But this was a good read.

The list isn't a look at more obscure tracks. Its a huge backhanded compliment.
I hate stereogum. A poor mans Pitchfork.

Songbird is not better than Turn Up the Sun, The Turning, and Falling Down, and The Hindu Times isn't better than The Shock of the Lightning and Gas Panic.

Go Let It Out A very good read filled with a lot of truths when analyzing Oasis career pre and post 2000. The list of songs isn't bad and it makes you realize Oasis could still create some awesome tunes even if the albums were lackluster between 2000 and 2008. I mean a best of Oasis volume 2: 2000-2009 is still pretty stellar. Go Let It Out Who Feels Love? Gas Panic Sunday Morning Call The Hindu Times Stop Crying Your Heart Out Songbird Little By Little Turn Up The Sun Lyla The Importance of Being Idle Let There Be Love Lord Don't Slow Me Down The Shock of The Lightning I'm Outta Time Falling Down Boy With The Blues

It's a very good article, very accurate, for an Oasis related article it's a rare thing.
He said that HC and SOTSOG were the low points, but both aren't as weak as they seem, and that DOYS and DBTT are both very underrated, even if they can't touch their first 3 albums.
I will read the list later.

My personal top 15 (album tracks only):
01. Gas Panic! 02. Falling Down 03. Where Did It All Go Wrong? 04. The Turning 05. The Shock of the Lightning 06. The Importance of Being Idle 07. Roll It Over 08. Go Let It Out 09. Bag It Up 10. Little by Little 11. Part of the Queue 12. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 13. Who Feels Love? 14. Turn Up the Sun 15. Lyla
Not a bad list for a band that in most people's minds was dead in 1996...

A bit of a strange list but all the big guns are pretty much there. I actually think the band chose their singles wisely during the noughties and I wouldn't deviate too far from them when compiling a list of best/essential songs from this period of time. In that regard I'd have thought something along the lines of the following would have been a better list, even if it reads a little bit a like a popularity list with no real 'deep cuts':
18) Let There Be Love 17) Bag It Up 16) Who Feels Love? 15) Turn Up The Sun 14) Let’s All Make Believe 13) The Turning 12) I’m Outta Time 11) Songbird 10) Little By Little 9) Fuckin’ In The Bushes 8) The Hindu Times 7) Stop Crying Your Heart Out 6) Falling Down 5) Lyla 4) Gas Panic! 3) The Shock Of The Lightning 2) Go Let It Out 1) The Importance Of Being Idle
Pretty evenly spread, huh. That said, a list that far more accurately reflects my personal highlights would roughly be:
18) Mucky Fingers 17) Waiting For The Rapture 16) I’m Outta Time 15) Where Did It All Go Wrong? 14) Full On 13) The Turning 12) Little By Little 11) Lyla 10) Gas Panic! 9) Fuckin’ In The Bushes 8) To Be Where There’s Life 7) Bag It Up 6) Force Of Nature 5) The Hindu Times* 4) The Importance Of Being Idle 3) Falling Down 2) Go Let It Out 1) Shock Of The Lightning
*Demo Preferably

Much more harder to do than I would have thought. I think I'll put at least 6 songs of the SOTSOG era, and certainly more than I thought of the HC one.

Well, this list is obviously a matter of opinion and highly subjective, but the first essay part of the Stereogum story is actually one of the most poignant and conclusive summaries of the band's career I've ever read. That sort of realism wouldn't occur on Pitchfork.

In no particular order:
Songbird The Turning The Shock of the Lightning Lyla Falling Down Songbird Bag it Up Roll it Over Part of the Queue The Importance of being Idle Gas Panic Stop Crying Your Heart Out Go Let it Out Soldier On The Hindu Times Love Like a Bomb I'm Outta Time Turn up the Sun
Pretty surprised by how many DOYS songs I had listed. That album really was brought down by two songs.

at quick glance it's hard to argue with any in the top 10. agreed with what others have said about love like a bomb. interesting choice for #1. i probably would have gone with falling down. and keep the dream alive would be on my top 25 as well

today, my post BHN Oasis list looks like:
01."The Importance of Being Idle" 02."I'm Outta Time" 03."Go Let It Out" 04."The Shock of the Lightning" 05."The Hindu Times" 06. "Let There Be Love" 07."Stop Crying Your Heart Out" 08."Falling Down" 09."Songbird" 10."Born on a Different Cloud" 11.'Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders? 12."Gas Panic!" 13."Let's All Make Believe" 14."Keep the Dream Alive" 15."Roll It Over" 16."Turn Up the Sun" 17."Lyla" 18."Boy with the Blues"
and i believe it's a damn good list, up to their best work! imo, oasis was a great band, even after BHN, with amazing tunes and very good albums.
