To reverse quote D'You Know What I Mean...
This mess came in spectacular style but is going out in a big ugly mess.

These new songs sounds like Back After the Break and Off at the Next Exit. Liam really should release an EP or album.

Did you reply to the correct person? I never said anything about the video clip nor Rolo's cover, which are both great. I'm talking about the postulating nonsense that constitutes 90% of this thread. you see dog shit on the ground.. and you have a dip?! fucking obsolete weirdo I think you got me confused with someone who gives a shit. And just because Noel and Liam aren't relevant anymore, it doesnt mean the music industry is dying.

And just because Noel and Liam aren't relevant anymore, it doesnt mean the music industry is dying. Look at what actually is 'relevant' currently. Soulless click-track dance-pop with incredibly boring auto tuned rent-a-singers with that stupid fuzzy club build up every 20 seconds... I get a lot of the criticisms of the Gallaghers but relevancy should never be one given how utterly dismal currently relevant music is!

Well I liked the song.
I can't see Liam Gallagher doing a solo album, starting a new band definitely.
Heres a few name ideas.
"Hedgehogs and the Hovels" "Frog and Toad" "Ratty and Badgers Boat"
by the way, what is going on with that Drum n Bass nonsense when he is playing?
I prefer this one though.

His voice sounds bad.

I must admit that the more I watch that video the more I cringe. In his day Liam had a really special and unique voice and I think between 1995-1997 in particular he was up there with the best rock and roll singers of all time, but watching that video shows you just how bad he really is now.
Bum notes everywhere... even the lower ones that are in his (stupidly drunk) range he can't even manage properly. The fact that the three genuine musicians sat next to him looked massively bored and unimpressed says a lot.
The guy needs training to sort his voice out but he'll never get it and will just progressively get worse.
And as for the song it's a typical Liam number. Below average, tired lyrics, a paint-by-numbers melody and then follow it up at the with repeating four extremely simple note over and over. It's like a shit Boy With The Blues, and BWTB wasn't even that great a song to begin with.

The idiot would be valid. Analysing a vocal from a man who's in a pub drinking is stupid. The rest of it is nothing bradhorse hasn't repeated before.

I wouldn't call someone an idiot for having an opinion, as it's disrespectful, but you're right about the rest. He's just singing in a pub and having fun. Can't really say anything about that and it's good to see him doing something anyway.

Some opinions can be idiotic. If I saw Ronaldo at a BBQ with a beer in his hand doing some keep ups, he drops the ball a few times, I label him rubbish. That would be idiotic also.
Like or loathe Noel Gallagher if someone heard just The Mexican and announced that he was a shit songwriter...well you get where i'm going.

first draft of Noel's lyrics included
'they say you need love, just like Liam on coke'
heard Sardy phoned him up from LA and told him it was shit.

Shame we were talking about analyzing vocals and how none of those comments are about his vocals. Also nice how you quoted a bit out of a comment that had nothing to do with his vocals either. Ahh, the magic of context.. I have said that melodically it was weak, but have said elsewhere (not in this thread apparently, because otherwise someone would have probably dug that out by now ) that we would have to wait for the final version to judge the song. However, the main melody often doesn't really change for Liam's songs.

The rest of it is nothing bradhorse hasn't repeated before. Well, for a start... a man of his significance shouldn't be silly drunk and singing in a pub unless he can actually sing when drunk, otherwise embarrassing videos like this appear. Is no one else analysing the vocal? Just me? I presume so, cause I didn't see you calling anyone else an idiot? You seem to follow my posts pretty closely; I hope in future you can actually come up with reasonable debates and counterpoints rather than just calling me an idiot when I'm offering a valid opinion.

Why shouldn't liam have some fun in a pub for gods sake? He likes to sing and maybe he was too drunk to, but let him ejoy himself. The world woud be really boring if everybody would gocus on what zhe others or the public thinks. And its liam, the guy who used to beat up journalists, so I think he is not that concernes about a video of him singing in a pub.

The guy should most definitely be able to have fun in a pub and enjoy himself. But if recordings of him playing a song whilst blind drunk surface and people on an Oasis forum are going to voice their opinion then as a massive Oasis fan I feel I should be allowed to as well, without being called an idiot.

He strummed a song while meeting his family in pub. Someone recorded it. Saying it's his new song like NME does or making a big deal out of it is fuckin' lame and it doesn't bring too much hope for the future of the world's culture and humanity.
