Riam needsu disciprine. Even if he and Lee Mavers for together they'd never end up releasing anything. I read that in a South Park Japanese accent, I'm assuming that's the way it was intended? I really hope so or I'm going to look a right plonker. Damn you Mongorians! Stay away from my shitty wall!

In theory this makes great sense. Liam's voice. Lee's tunes. However we all know it's tabloid bullshit.

OMG...this would be amazing----but i doubt it is true.
if there is ANYONE who can convince Mavers to come back it would likely be The Coral.....and they haven't been able to convince him even.

No chance. But this is the one rumour I'd actually like to see happen. Liam's voice over Mavers songs? That could be scarily good if they both get their shit together

Anyone who believes this rumor hasn't paid attention to Lee Mavers in the last TWENTY-FIVE YEARS.
I'll believe it when I hear it. And even then, I'll be skeptical.

More rumors from The Mirror.... Oasis singer Liam Gallagher plotting comeback with 'modern John Lennon' Lee Mavers Liam has recruited The La’s songwriter to engineer his return to the charts and music insiders say it promises to be a “beautiful relationship” Liam Gallagher is preparing to make a comeback, but not in an Oasis reunion – and if that’s got you crying your heart out, just stop now. Because Liam has recruited The La’s Lee Mavers to engineer his return to the charts and music insiders say it promises to be a “beautiful relationship”. When Beady Eye split up in 2014, many fans hoped it would be the catalyst to bring the Gallaghers back together for an Oasis reunion. But while his brother is touring the UK with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, 42-year-old Liam is looking forward to working with his music hero Lee, 52, who is best known for his late 80s hit There She Goes. A source said: “Liam is in talks with Lee to create a new album. “It’s been a rocky road for him but he’s got found new energy having decided to work with Lee. It’s going to be a beautiful relationship.” While Noel has won praise for his band’s second album, Chasing Yesterday, Liam hasn’t released anything since Beady Eye’s last album, BE in June 2013. Liam is a huge fan of Lee, and has compared him to John Lennon, saying: “As a songwriter, I don’t think anyone’s touched Lennon and I don’t know if they ever will. “Lee Mavers could have got near, but he went down another road. Lee Mavers is a f****** dude, man. “I f****** love him.” He also advised Kanye West to “check out Lee Mavers” after West’s “utterly s***” Brits performance in January. Drummer Chris Sharrock, who played with The La’s before joining Oasis and Beady Eye, matched Liam and Lee. The source added: “Chris knew how much Liam admired Lee. “Lee’s a musical genius and he thought they could make some really special music together so he put them in touch.” www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/oasis-singer-liam-gallagher-plotting-6055129Nosense pool: "What would you rather see make a comeback?" 88% Oasis 12% Liam solo

Do they have to create an imaginary source to go with every story, seriously?
Anyway, I believe that Liam and Lee is a match made in musical heaven.

It's probably rubbish, but if the tabloids were looking for a great story they wouldn't have pick Lee Mavers, who ISN'T famous. But it's still rubbish, probably.
But hey, better than nothing, at least we have to talk about.

God I really hope this turns out to be true.
The gigs would be mental, new material plus the odd Oasis / La's tune.
This could be genuinely brilliant.

Everything we know about Mathers points this to be false, but... fingers crossed.

Actually, this could be the best thing that could happen for both Lee and Liam. It's actually THAT great that none of us even thought about it.
Lee Mavers would maybe profit from Liam's "name", and I don't mean that in a bad way. I only suppose that The La's never really got the recognition they deserved whereas Liam Gallagher is a big name in the UK. Correct me if I'm wrong with my impression of the La's and Lee Mavers as a name. Liam would also profit because of Lee's songs and come on...what a story that is. Liam Gallagher and Lee Mavers making music together. The press will love it.

But hey, better than nothing, at least we have to talk about. i've got to agree with this tbh, the mainstream wont even know who lee is and most people will know there she goes as the sixpence none the richer version (or from so i married an axe murderer.. why would mike myers basically a uk citizen allow a cover :/) and not really know much else about the la's anyway as tabloid fodder theres many many more made up stories to be told.. i think it'll never see fruition so wont have happened but defo some smoke.. side note just imagine if lee has spent last 20 years writing tunes and him and liam made an album cherry picking the best 12 .. be amazing..

Does anybody know how has Lee Mavers been making a living during the last 20 years? I reckon La's royalties can't be fucking enough right? how can one album hurt? It has Liam Gallagher on it, he knows it's gonna sell. He knows it's gonna sell even more if it features a decent chorus. Who is writing decent choruses nowadays? Piece of cake. Hasn't he written a single good song in 25 years? I don't believe it. Lee Mavers might still be Lee Mavers but money won't hurt.
Come on, he is a grown man already, he has surely overcome his apathetic complex.
Money talks...
p.d: Wikipedia: In March 2009, Mavers made a surprise appearance in Birmingham, joining Pete Doherty on stage to play "Son of a Gun" and "There She Goes".[6]

It makes for a fantastic story and like any one I'd be very eager to hear it, but my hope wouldn't be that high.
The guy made 1 record, 25 years ago. The numbers say it all.

The numbers say it all. agreed and sure many song writers peaked 2 decades ago but doesnt mean they haven't got fantastic tunes in them still. Sure none of its true, sure he bowed out at the right time and is happy he didnt have a 'second coming' but potential is there even if its all make believe
