I think Don't Look Back In Anger, The Masterplan or Some Might Say

Since most Oasis songs are sung by Liam, the 'introducer' should also be. I think Live Forever would be a good option as the lyrics, the melody and the message are all great.

a 5 mini disc makes sense but if I was to go with just one it would be Rock and Roll Star it encapsulates all that is Oasis bombastic dreams , great riffs , full of energy
If we did a mini disc Rock and Roll Star Champagne supernova Dlbia Live forever Slide away
Liam voice has to be heard if your only playing 1 tune , but in a 5 you gotta throw in noels voice to show the diversity

Can't see the hate for Probably All In The Mind, it is an amazing tune.
I've always said Some Might Say is the perfect song to get people into Oasis.

All Around the World or Wonderwall probably, or Gas Panic! if the person is a bit edgy

It depends on the person's taste, but I'd agree with who said Live Forever

Some Might Say (AKA... The Best Oasis Song) Actually, the lighter stuff on WTSMG probably has the most broad appeal. But it's not very representative of the rest of the catalogue, so I'm not sure it could turn someone into a fan. Another idea might be showing some live vids. This one always gets me:

Depends on their taste really. I mean, it could be Live Forever, DLBIA or Some Might Say, or maybe even Lyla.
I love Champagne Supernova and I think it's fantastic, but it's quite long and full of guitars and shizzle and not everyone is into that.

Believe it or not but Little by Little is usually a good song to introduce someone to Oasis, a lot of casual listeners seem to love it.

Very simple, just give them the Some Might Say single
Not only does it contain some of their best songs, it also showcases all the different sides to their early sound and is the best example of how many quality songs they had when they can have 3 b-sides of that quality on one single
Sums Oasis up in less than 20mins

I've thought about this often and I don't think just one song would cut it. I made a 14 track CD that I would give to my friends if I ever tried to get them into Oasis. You can't pick songs like Wonderwall etc. because casual listeners will already have heard them and obviously haven't been excited enough by them to get into the band.
I'll try and make a 4-5 song EP.

1. D'You Know What I Mean? 2. Gas Panic! 3. Falling Down 4. Half the World Away 5. Live Forever 6. All Around the World
Reyes to show different sides to Oasis from different points - overblown swagger and guitar walls, concise pop styled rock, acoustic emotion about working class Manchester, atmospheric psychedelia, Noel's melody and romanticism and finally epic anthemic optimism. They really were a fucking great band weren't they?

They have to be the the kind of song where people go "Who's that?", to which you reply "That's Oasis", which is met with a noise of approval and a nod of the head. Throw in a couple of classics as well.
I think these songs could work:
Acquiesce The Masterplan Listen Up Gas Panic! Falling Down Step Out The Importance Of Being Idle Some Might Say Idler's Dream D'You Know What I Mean? Fade Away Live Forever

Never understood the hate, besides maybe the production. That and Hindu Times are my most replayed from HC. I'd also pick Some Might Say to introduce people to Oasis.

I also agree with your point that it should be something else than Wonderwall etc as people obviously heard those and those apparently weren't good enough to hook them. Didn't think of it like that. One could argue that Live Forever, DYKWIM and Idle are all singles too, but they, and especially the latter two, haven't been played as much as Wonderwall.

I just threw in Step Out to include an upbeat throwaway pop song. The Importance Of Being Idle is a song that a few of my friends like, who are not Oasis fans by any stretch. I don't know why I chose 'D'You Know What I Mean?' but it seems like the kind of song that would just blow someone away. And Live Forever? How could you not fall in love with Oasis after hearing that?
