Flick of a Finger is a really good song, but The Roller would've been tenfold better than FoaF to bring to the public as a first single. It captures the perfect pop rock elements Oasis always had going for them, and with good promotion, would've easily gone to a top 20 spot. Puzzles me why they put Bring the Light out first, and then Four Letter Word afterwards, along with the 2 month delay between the 3rd & 4th singles, and the 4th & 5th ones. They should've done like what Noel did for CY, but bigger with massive promotions & what not, followed by Millionaire, Four Letter Word, and The Beat Goes On for singles.
They wanted to suprise people with Bring The Light. It was the way of saying "Hey, we sound not like Oasis at all" I get the idea of the strategy but it didn't go over well to the masses. This is not the Liam Gallagher people wanted. Four Letter Word.......now that how you kick down the door saying, "we are back and ready for action!".

I don't know. Beady Eye as 'what left from Oasis ' band was kinda born to lose from the very beggining. In todays music buisness reality when there's no room for that kind of band anyways i doubt that picking singles mattered that much. I enjoyed their music and i listened to those two albums more than some of oasis records but if Liam really thought that they will achieve what Oasis achieved in 3 years then that was the main problem i guess.Wrong mindset for thd job but what do we expect from the golden kid that LG happened to be. Being a big rockstar in the age of 20 when you can't even play guitar you can start to think everything you'll touch turns to loads of money.

I think all his female troubles have tired Liam out for now.

So basically, Liam walked away from the band without any consultation or discussion. Just as I had predicted.

Liam s not a singer for low profile band and he somehow could not accept the fact Noel s doing better. The paradox is, that it was not based on BDI / NGHFB music... otherwise it would be 50/50. Seriously, play NGHFB p1, dull as fuck...

So guess the Andy/Noel rift was blown out proportion. People got really caught up on that.
Wonder if he's heard it.

Seriously, play NGHFB p1, dull as fuck... The problem is that Noel and Liam are symbiotes as far as music goes. Liam needs a HELL of lot more work before he can become a master songwriter like Noel (and there's probably not that much time left in Eternity). Noel will NEVER be a proper singer and he cannot accept the fact that his songs only come alive when they're coming out of Liam's throat. Sure, Noel is one of the best songwriters that ever lived and the songs alone will sell records, but I never hear Noel sing without wondering what Liam could have done with that song. Particularly "Don't Look Back in Anger."

Unfortunately for Liam, his voice can't back up a top tune like it used to, but hes still capable of writing good music. He's done it for Oasis and BE, im sure he can do it again

Liam is too preoccupied with his current infatuation to do any work right now. He'll probably feel differently when the bloom is off the rose.

Liam should sing DLBIA if for no other reason than to piss Noel off.

I seem to recall Noel holding back a lot over the last 3-4 years meanwhile Liam took cheap shots at Noel's High Flying Birds every chance he had. Everything Noel said is in fact true. It wasn't surprising nor shocking.

On another note...
Was it my imagination or did Beady Eye say they worked on 21 songs for BE? If so, I really hope we get to listen to the ones they didn't release.

I seem to recall Noel holding back a lot over the last 3-4 years meanwhile Liam took cheap shots at Noel's High Flying Birds every chance he had. Everything Noel said is in fact true. It wasn't surprising nor shocking. I think there is a difference. When Liam says something like this, no one in the general public takes him serious, it's just "he's a jealous/talentless (take your pick) idiot". It's different coming from Noel, especially as he is the "winner" on all counts and I'd be surprised if he was not aware of that. But then, we don't know what's going on backstage. As for the truth, for some people music is not about the great hits and there are those who take enjoyment from "LAG's" songs.

So just because it's Liam it's okay, but if it's Noel it's not, because he is "smarter and the winner"? They're both men in their 40s. Come on.

I'm not saying either is OK, I just feel it's different how the public reacts to that. In general, I wish they'd both kept a diplomatic silence about each other, especially professionally, and am glad that the other one does so at the moment and we don't get a public slanging match as I do like both of them.

Well, I think saying a band doesn't have big hits and no great songwriters, but also saying that they were a good band with some good songs, is actually different from throwing insults aimed at one person directly, and using swear words to do so.
