Oasis Are Never, Ever Getting Back Together Noel Gallagher talks about the 'Definitely Maybe' 20th anniversary plans Give up hope, Britpop fans: The chances of an Oasis reunion are absolutely nil, according to guitarist Noel Gallagher. No way, no how. Read on to see what happened when we asked Noel – who left the band in 2009 after yet another quarrel with his brother Liam – about his plans for the upcoming 20th anniversary of Oasis' classic debut album. Definitely Maybe will be 20 years old next summer. That's correct! Do you think you’ll do anything to celebrate the anniversary? Well, there would be the inevitable reissues, I would’ve thought. But are you asking, are the band going to get onstage and have a blast through “Rock 'n' Roll Star” somewhere, like the Philippines or something? Well, you could do it anywhere. I think I’d rather not, though. Why not? I don’t know. We are split up. You’ve heard that, haven’t you? You must’ve heard. I did hear that, yeah. Yeah, so, ergo, band splits up, band is no more. There is no band. So, no, I won’t be getting involved, anyway. If there is a reunion, I won’t be in it. Are you getting tired of answering questions about this? No, I only answer about six a day, so it’s under control. I understand people will never stop asking until it happens. I know that that’s how it goes. Are you still proud of Definitely Maybe, when you look back? Of course. I’m proud of everything that we ever did. I mean, some songs are pretty shit, and there’s a couple of periods you’d rather forget, but I think on the whole… I think we made three great albums and four good ones, which is not bad out of eight. Kind of a 50 percent record. That’s pretty good, I think. But I’m cool with it. I don’t think there’s any unfinished business. I don’t think that we left anything unsaid, do you know what I mean? It’s like, if you’ve seen [Oasis], then good for you. If you didn’t, then that’s fucking tough shit. I’ve never seen the Beatles. So there you go. www.rollingstone.com/music/news/oasis-are-never-ever-getting-back-together-20131120

Firstly I really hope they don't reform.
Secondly, Noel loves a pay day, and is an astute man.
So, if he did actually want a reunion, he is playing the right cards.
i.e. Pretend you don't want to at all - 'never never never' = your stock rises = a much higher fee from AEG as opposed to sniffing around for a reunion fee.

Never say "Never" cos you don't know what tomorrow brings us.
But I'm enjoying what I got and I've seen Oasis 4 times. Although they're still one of my life time bands, I don't want them to reunion, but want 2 brothers Gallager to be reunited as brothers.

Interesting how Noel says "I think we made three great albums and four good ones".
I wonder which ones he considers great/good? Knowing his hatred of BHN, I'd say he'd qualify DM, WTSMG, and DBTT the "great" Oasis albums. In his opinion of course.

i'm not a gambler but theriddler's been right about a lot of things related to Oasis...DOYS tracklisting, DGSS tracklisting/info., NGHFB'S info, knowing franklomax is a dickcheese burger, etc. and she says Oasis are reuniting relatively soon. and on top of the fact that Noel talks a lot of shit. i'm holding my breath on the reunion.... do i care about a reunion? no. Oasis were/are probably my favorite band ever, i grew up with them and i'll always have that and that's enough for me. if they never get back together, no big deal. God bless.

At one point in time, Noel has stated that BHN, SOTSOG, HC, DBTT and DOYS were "Oasis' best album after Morning Glory". I think you are probably right guess DBTT as the third great Oasis album. I however do not agree with Noel. For me, Be Here Now is the true 3rd great Oasis album. Oasis never flew this high again (literally and figuratively).

Noel has a tendency to exaggerate and lie, just like Liam. He says one thing and then a year later does the exact opposite. So I would look too much into it.

I see a lot of people saying 'no' towards a reunion.
So I am curious, if Oasis did reunite, would you support them? Would you buy the new albums, attend the gigs?

Oasis between 2000 and 2009 grew very stale both on albums and on tour. I would buy a new Oasis album and attend the world tour. I've been a fan since late 1994/early 1995. However, I feel musically the brothers are better apart at the moment. Beady Eye cooked up some great sounds on BE. Likewise HFB was Noel's best full album since Be Here Now and his tour was so much fun. I believe they are stronger apart and us fans have reaped the benefits (3 albums, 3 tours, tons of b-sides). Oasis was acting like a brand towards the end. I want a band!

I think many of "us" who say no to reunion support Beady Eye and NGHFB and if u' re into those two things there' s no way u could not support Oasis...

I would support Oasis but I don't want them back together.
I genuinely love some of what HFB has done and though sadly BDI don't thrill me there are many on the board that are enjoying it a lot apparently.
Both vehicles seem to be suiting them all a lot better than the entity that Oasis became according to all members involved.
I'd rather Noel continue on his own and I'll keep an ear out to see if BDI produce anything that catches my ear.
I don't think that Oasis have anything more to achieve. They are not going to sell more albums than they did at their peak or play to more people. They could go like the Rolling Stones and continue to maintain a live appeal into there 70's I am sure...but why unless they love being in a band together?
Plus...they haven't been gone long enough for them to be gone for there to be that much nostalgia. It's only 4 years from the split and 5 since the last album.
