Is the third great one not The Masterplan? That's not a real album. It is however a GREAT compilation.

I really hope they don't get back together. It would just be a lifeless greatest hits set and criminal behaviour from the Liam fans.

I see a lot of people saying 'no' towards a reunion. So I am curious, if Oasis did reunite, would you support them? Would you buy the new albums, attend the gigs? I don't want them to do a reunion because (right now) it would obviously not for the right reasons since they don't get along, and I don't see this chaning anytime soon either. But if they would reunite, I would DEFINITELY go. I've never seen them live and it's one of my biggest regrets!

I personally would love to have them back, theres no one interesting out there at the moment.
Oasis were imo the best in the world. Its extremely rare for me to find a band where I like over 10 of their songs. With Oasis its over a 100 and i'd love to see what they'd come up with now.
The only reason I don't want them to come back is because its only been 4 years since they split up and I think it would take at least another 3-5 years for them to make a comeback

theres no one interesting out there at the moment. I can't tell if you are a comic genius or not. You have delivered some classic posts this year. Didn't you say that only Beady Eye interest you as well? Fuck me!!!!

Oasis was acting like a brand towards the end. I want a band! ha I like how you put that, right on ok speaking as one who missed Oasis, my ideal would be, a few special reunion gigs in Europe, some nice collector reissues, a way for longtime fans to relive the top years a bit and give us newcomers a taste of what it was like. no new music that just doesn't seem right, both Noel and Liam have moved past Oasis and into their own styles. if they get back together it should just be to remember 'old days', anything new wouldn't really be Oasis anymore and I take anything Noel or Liam say now with a grain of salt because I think it will come down to money at some point and a reunion would be too good to turn down

From the efestivals forum:
just had a guy mail me some info, saying that a reformed oasis is happening.
He's someone who has sent us kosher info in the past, tho he's also sent us some wrong stuff. His place in things means that he hears stuff but has no way of knowing whether what he's hearing is correct. He has his doubts about this.
But then again, it's quite likely that his source would know about it happening if it is happening, so there might be something to it.
He's told me enough for me to do some decent digging around, which I hope will be enough to find out something either way.
PS: nothing about what he said relates to Glastonbury, BTW. Just that they're (supposedly) reforming. I've posted it in here because this was the first Oasis topic that came up when I searched for Oasis.

I think this might be bad intel. Why would Noel reform Oasis when he is about to start recording his second album? He just came off a very successful solo album both critically and commercially. He also seemed genuinely happy for once. I just don't see it happening. What do us fans get? Another greatest hits tour for the billionth time? Another lopsided album? Things are a lot more exciting now with solo Noel and Beady Eye.

Well, we did get this tease on here not too long ago: citius quam quisquam putat, But can't see it happening myself, as you said - Noel will be busy with the follow-up to NGHFB. Unless its a small re-union, just for a couple of shows.. DM anniversary shows or such. Still can't see it happening (yet). Especially with Noel talking down all the re-union questions/rumours, I honestly believe he's not interested.. or maybe I'm just naive?

So what do you guys think about the increased activity of the Oasis facebook page lately? Posting loads of pictures etc.. That's a new thing isn't it? Must be something behind it?

Personally I think it's a just revving up to a rerelease. I doubt we are gonna get much warning of a reunion from stuff like that. I think if there is a reunion it'll be quite quiet officially with maybe a few rumours floating around then a massive Press announcement then things will happen very quickly. A bit like how Noel's release was structured...just bigger

Exactly, man! It would be great if they came back. Maybe I am weird but I like only old music... and Beady Eye. I am interested in nothing new... Old rock has a soul... Spot on really? just becaues it`s old? if you`re not interested in new bands, you don`t look for them and in the end you won`t find interesting band. listen to Black Angles, Queens of the stone age, Black Keys, BRMC, Dandy Warhols, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Arctic Monkeys. There are so many bands that have soul. "little black submarines", "I appear missing", "Firewalker", "Stairway to the best party in the universe"..... do these songs have no souls? I don't know old bands and soul... in my eyes the Rolling Stones had become the most soul-less band ever. they seem like a greatest hits compilation / circus touring round to sell their 120th live or greatest hits complilation. I`m glad, that Oasis never reached that dry and life less point in their career.

I'd hate for them to just tour for a huge cash cow payment. Noel has vowed never to do such a thing. It devalues a band. I know a lot of people didn't get to see Oasis live, like Noel says, too bad. I was too young to see Nirvana live. I survived.

I love Oasis, I still really do and I love Beady Eye and Noel's High Flying Birds too, but my interesting for music is huge. I just can't only stay in Gallagher world. There's so many good bands in the world, so to me it's a shame not to check them out, but again it's me.

I really really don`t like, that the Gallaghers seem to love to keep one setlist for the whole tour.

Well Oasis setlists were as safe as can be. I envy what bands like Pearl Jam, Radiohead and Arcade Fire do for their fans.

Iknow Gem was injured and maybe this was the reason, but where are the promised "obscure" oasis songs? if "rock n roll star", "Morning glory", "live forever" and "Cigarettes and alcohol" are obscure ..... Is "wonderwall" the only non obscure song?
