Love all of the Dig Out Your Soul era artwork! AMAZING. Agreed! Especially the boxset is fabulous (like someone mentioned earlier)! Stop the Clocks has fantastic album cover, too but I don't know if that underrated... SCYHO and All Around The World are worth the mention what it comes to singles.

I like the Go Let It Out USA promo. I wonder why they used that rare logo.

I love the SCYHO single cover, the "STOP" is very effective.

That whole 'Microdot period' oozed class and reflected an era where purchasing music was a genuine experience; the thrill of buying a complete, 'tangible package', of which the artwork was very much an important component.
Despite Oasis frequently being branded a chav band by professional music snobs, there is something quite artful and subversive about the early sleeves- clearly a good deal of effort went into them. Some capture what appear as random and understated moments and others are carefully and deliberately framed.
Noel's love of The Beatles probably had a lot to do with the focus on artwork. The Fab Four, afterall, were at the forefront of sixties bands putting a lot more thought into cover art.
For mine, the singles feature the best work. Favourites include: Live Forever, Cigarettes and Alcohol, Whatever, Some Might Say, Wonderwall and the cool 'posse' look of D'You Know What I Mean- all my people indeed!
If I was wealthy, I would seek out some of Brian Cannon's Oasis work- amazing collector's items.

side note: Brian Cannon's parents are the people on the cover of the Stand By Me single. i recently discovered that. my favorite sleeve cover art is for the Wonderwall single. p.s. as Rain said recently, back in the 90's it was hard to catalog and find the singles, in the U.S, anyway. i found a certain record shop that carried Oasis singles around 1997 and by that time quite a few singles had been released. hearing all the b-sides was unreal and cemented Oasis as one of my favorite bands. God bless.

Was this artwork ever officially used or it fan-made? I really like it. The different font in the Oasis logo makes me question its legitimacy though.

I'd say fan made on the grounds it says 'Morning Glory' with one Tony McCarroll on the front cover, although I do like the photo itself which was shot by photographer Chris Floyd- NME.com photo exhibition news Dec 2014 It's outside the old Manchester City F.C. ground Maine Road by the look of it, and appears to be confirmed by Sonic Edition Prints- Oasis Maine Road 1994

For album and single, that is. For album, I'd say SOTSOG. It was an odd choice but it captures the music and mood of the album perfectly. I also think the Stop the Clocks album cover is pretty neat but never gets a mention. For singles, there are so many great ones from the Microdot days but I'll go for Shakermaker. Shakermaker. Great cover. Aweful single

The SOTSOG range (singles and albums) really fit together well.
Sunday morning call is really good..how it represents maybe the night after a party looking out at New York as per the album (obviously)

is Tony wearing same sweater with Liam's on Glastonbury 1994 ? Tony certainly does appear to have inspired Liam's dress sense for that gig, albeit with added sunglasses!

Speaking of cover art... I've just remembered that I made this shortly after the split (high res version here):

Don't Look Back In Anger is brilliant.
I also like SOTSOG. I read somewhere about the way it was a shot - blended together from photos taken every hour for 24 hours or something like that, anyone know the actual info?

Don't Look Back In Anger is brilliant. I also like SOTSOG. I read somewhere about the way it was a shot - blended together from photos taken every hour for 24 hours or something like that, anyone know the actual info? IIRC it was shot by fashion photographer Andrew MacPherson over eighteen hours from the rooftop of 500 W Avenue to show the skyline including landmarks such as the Empire State Building and the former WTC, before being composited to create the finished artwork. I haven't got any reference materials to hand as for a change I am out and about, but perhaps someone else has further references? It is referenced in the 2008 Paul Weller News piece with Simon Halfon, who talks about it being photographed 36 times over 18 hours by MacPherson- Paul Weller News
EDIT- Thanks keke for finding my old rambling posts!

Not sure why but I dig the Stand By Me cover as well. Its pretty dumb but I like it. Lord Don't Slow Me Down is cool too
Worst singles?
Morning Glory. What a boring photo. The Hindu Times is weird as well but it might make sense if you could see whats going on in the photo close up

Hmm... I think the cover art to 'Roll With It' needs a shout. Unique, memorable, iconic - possibly the cover (WTS)MG? deserved.
The most iconic thing to come out of Weston-Super-Mare since John Cleese

The Brian Cannon era artwork are amazing and iconic.
The SOTSOG era artwork are great too.
On the HC era, only the album cover is awful, the singles cover are all very good IMO.
The DBTT era cover are all lame IMO.
The DOYS era cover are all outstanding.
