Usually I think Noel's opions are pretty spot on, but now I'll have to disagree. No great players? Gerrard, one of the best midfielders? Suarez, currently at least top 5 in the world? Sturridge, the second best attacker of the EPL? Sterling and Coutinho, very promising youngsters? I think Liverpool have about the same number of great players in their main 11. The only thing they're missing is depth. Also, why on earth wouldn't Suarez deserve the "best player" award? He simply was the best this season. And a cheat? Is he going on about the biting incident? OK, that was disgraceful, but it was a year ago. Since then Suarez has redeemed himself and has had a flawless, spectacular season. Suarez is a cheat, though. He dives more than Cristano Ronaldo ever did. He even got booked for simulation in the Palace match, for Christ's sake. Do you know how hard it is to get carded for diving? Most refs don't do that unless it's so utterly clear. And with Suarez, it usually is. Part of me is glad that Arsene didn't sign him. Wenger takes into account personalities when buying and selling players (something most managers don't do, and I think this is a real positive when it comes to Wenger), and while Suarez is the type of player to win you league titles, he's also the type of player to disrupt the dressing room, and serve suspensions. As a player, Suarez is top class. As an individual, he is a real dickhead and makes the likes of Balotelli look like a saint. Didn't he get a yellow for protest? He has got some sort of a reputation for diving, but I think this season he hasn't dived that much. There have been a lot of moments where almost everyone thought he was diving, but when you see the replay you could clearly see there was some contact. But people tend to forget that. And I'm not so sure if he really is a "bad person". When you see interviews of him, hear stories about him off the pitch, hear teammates talk about him, he seems a really nice, down to earth guy. It just seems he's extremely passionate about football, and when he gets on the pitch he becomes this kind of... I wouldn't say monster, but you get the meaning. Of course that's no excuse, but I honestly don't believe that he's, like Balotelli, a bad/irritating/difficult person to work with. I think he's very likeable and professional off the pitch. Of course that's easy for me to say as a Liverpool fan, and I don't know the guy in person, so it's hard to tell, but that's just the image I've got from him.

Oh yeah, I don't know anything about Suarez off the pitch, but it's true that some people are really nice guys and then when they get on the pitch you can't do anything but hate them cause they're too irritating, it's just the way they feel the match, as a Roma fan I know that
Agree about the now or never thing as well, City will definitely buy a defender next season (and that's the only thing they REALLY need), UTD after this season will have a great season of transfers I suppose, Chelsea is going to buy a big striker, Arsenal will do something as well (maybe) and without injuries will be better than he's been this year (with Wilshere, Ramsey in a good form and all that they would have probably still been up there), and Liverpool this year is the only one who hasn't played in any European competitions, so it will be difficult to repeat what they've done this season, but who knows
P.S. as always, sorry for my english guys, I try my best

Nice job Manchester City. Crazy, wild and unpredictable EPL season. Only sat at the top of the table for something like 15 days but all that matters is to be there at the end.

Aston Villa put up for sale by Randy Lerner, 8 years after the American bought them.
Rumours of a £200 million takeover from an American consortium I'm hearing. Looks like they need it - they are the Premier League team that constantly seems to be in a state of limbo going nowhere. But with a solid fanbase and a prestigious history (1 European Cup remember) relative to most Premier League teams they're a good team to invest in.
Obviously under FFP rules, buying success is out of the question thankfully, but a long term plan (invest in young talented manager with progressive ideas - sadly Lambert seems to be failing - and upgrade youth facilities) could do wonders for the club in building legitimate success.

Talk about the league's quality declining in recent years, and I would agree. But there's still no comparison - no league, no sport even, like this.
Premier League 2013/14 had everything.
It had the return of Mourinho, it had Arsenal proving their doubters wrong - until they proved them right, it had a surprisingly ressurgent Liverpool side almost win the league, it had the eventual Champions only first by the least amount of days ever (15 days), it had controversies (Pardew, lol), it had Sunderland defy the physics of the relegation zone, it had Cardiff's magnificent start before their unfortunate fall, it had the perfect goal that was ever scored in the league's history (Arsenal vs. Norwich), it had the most amazing, dramatic, and significant comeback (Liverpool 3-3 Palace), and it provided the best comedy in Manchester United.
The side shows, the ups and downs, it was just brilliant entertainment. Everything about this league, this sport, was highlighted this season.
I can't wait for 2014/15. See you in August, lads.

Brendan Rodgers has won the LMA Manager of the Year. Well deserved, a great asset to British football in my opinion.

Do we know what was voted goal of the season?
I normally don't care about such trivia, but it will be a travesty if Arsenal don't win it for this bit of magic. Wenger has tried to score the perfect goal for 9 years, and he finally achieved it.

I love that big Bosnian bastard.

Must admit, I'm going to miss Tim Sherwood - thought he was the most entertaining manager this year.
He wasn't bad, neither was he spectacularly good but he did a steady job.

I love that big Bosnian bastard. We see great individual rockets, as well as individual skill all the time. We very rarely see a team goal perfectly executed. The double on-two between Wilshere and Giroud is incredible. Those are hard to do to begin with, but all 4 passes were done with intricate flicks, and sans deflections. That is very rare. Wilshere also had to time his collection of the final pass, as Offsides was a possibility, and then he needed the composure to slot it home. It's a goal that Barcelona score all the time. It was of the highest quality. It has to be up there with the best goals of the Premier League history. Truly special.

Everything about this league, this sport, was highlighted this season. brilliant entertainment, yes. exciting season, of course. but theres a few leagues that i think play overall better quality football, which in the end is why im watching. the english game is too focused on strength and speed. for pure football, id rather watch la liga, bundesliga, serie a, ligue1, even eredivisie...

There were a lot of rumours, specially when he said he wanted to leave. Probably it was his agent who told the media about offers, and as far as I know there was a real interest

No chance Serie A, Ligue 1 and Liga are better than the Premier League Ligue 1 is growing up now with the Arab money (they've kind of lost a club like Lione though), the Spanish League has got two of the biggest teams in the world, an amazing one and some pretty good ones like Valencia, Atl. Bilbao and Sevilla (and they are usually pretty good when they play European competitions, while, especially in the Europa League, teams from other countries don't seem to be really bothered), and Real Sociedad is having a good time, but the rest is pretty shit Serie A is too centered about tactics ( ), it was spectacular when we had great players, it was definitely the best league in the world, but those times seem to have gone, with very few "top players" left The Premier League is probably the most complete league now, great players, funny matches to see, and the fact that you never know, everything could happen
