Flick of the Finger is a crap choice as well - it doesn't have a chorus. Yeah every great song on the entire history of music has a chorus, everyone knows that... I didn't say it wasn't a great song. But on a programme like this you want to put out the song with the most memorable chorus, which makes Start Anew the obvious choice.

I don't know about that, big chorus aren't really BE's thing, SBOTA might have the catchiest chorus of the album.

Who gives a shit, really. Just remember this when you're up in arms about Noel playing somewhere you think is "selling out."
(You won't btw).

Start Anew is hell of a lot more likely to shift albums than SBOTA though, and it has a better chorus.

Start Anew is clearly the best choice although I do understand why they are going for SBOTA, it is pretty chirpy and I can imagine a younger generation (especially of the sort watching the show) digging it.

Yeah like kids. Can you not remove yourself from not liking the record long enough to talk about something sensibly?

Yeah like kids. Can you not remove yourself from not liking the record long enough to talk about something sensibly?Difficult task when so many on here are utterly delusional. The only song that may even appeal to anyone is FOTF. I even rate bonehead's bank holiday higher than SBOTA. There is nothing even remotely appealing about SBOTA. If there is... it's certainly not the lyrics. Then there's the attempt at Liam trying to sound like 94' Liam at "Girl in the queue, got an eye on you". It's embarrassing. What they should do is let the record speak for itself, if it bombs, then at least they can say they didn't even attempt to take the corporate road. The problem with even appearing on The Voice is it's exactly like X Factor, yet even worse as it takes a pretentious approach to music with it all being about vocals... Liams got it into his head that he's got something to prove, but it's quite evident those days are gone and Beady Eye are going to get absolutely crucified this weekend, bigger than ever as it's a programme that appeals to the national press. And what's it all for? To shift an extra 10 records? It was bad enough appearing on it, but the song choice makes it even worse. Had this been 15 years ago, it would have been a masterstroke move as no one could even hold a candle to Liams vocals and he would make everyone else look like amateurs. I won't even get started on the matching mod hair cuts and covered head to toe in Pretty Green gear.

When people not of the "younger" generation try to put themselves in the shoes of the "younger" generation, that's called fighting a losing battle. Unless it's your job to do that. Only an older person would say, "You know this music is pretty chippy! I think the younger generation will like that."

please Kick off Extra security has been drafted in by the BBC for the filming of this weekend’s edition of its talent show The Voice as Liam Gallagher and Robbie Williams are both set to be present…well, that’s according to a Sun ‘source’. The tabloid claims that while the much-publicised rivalry between the pair has cooled in recent years, bosses are not wanting to take any chances, with Gallagher booked for a live performance with Beady Eye, and Williams in town for a recorded appearance with Dizzee Rascal. “Relations between Robbie and Liam do seem to have become less hostile but the bosses aren’t taking any chances,” the source claims. “They had hoped they wouldn’t be in the studio at the same time but as Robbie’s tour clashed with the final, his performance has to be pre-recorded. So we have given them separate Winnebagos on either side of the studio and called in extra security to be on hand in case the pair do kick off.” Liam Gallagher has defended his surprise decision to appear on the dismal BBC series, remarking: “Really looking forward to doing The Voice – it’s been a lifelong ambition. If being asked to sing live and in tune on a programme that promotes the voice is a crime then shoot me.” Read more: www.live4ever.uk.com/2013/06/bbc-asks-for-extra-security-with-liam-gallagher-and-robbie-williams-booked-on-the-voice/#ixzz2WB90whSk

Or changing the lyrics to Dream On with a completely different vocal track to get his music played on tv and radio without the swearing. Didn't Noel slag of Radiohead for doing the same with Creep? Face it, both Liam an Noel are hypocrites but why so many take it as a personal insult on here I'll never understand.

I also remember Ian Brown doing it on top of the pops for Corpses. "she smokes crack, it's off the beat of the track" to "she smokes dope, and it ain't no joke" something rubbish like that it doesn't matter at the end of the day, I don't see it as selling out

Exactly, doesn't matter at all. I mean both played Alan Carr and Noel was on Graham Norton of all shows, never would have happened before but now we don't have TFI Friday, Top of the Pops, CDUK or shows like that anymore so live and let live, it's 5 minutes exposure on tv, that's all.

Someone I know, who very much isn't a fan of Oasis or anything related, when I mentioned I saw Beady Eye live this week, she said "They're on The Voice this week aren't they?"
Definitely puts them out there into the radar of those who otherwise wouldn't have any idea of them having an album out or such.

Plus there's now a lot of hype around the whole Williams turning up as well....

This is a good move for them. I've read comments on Liam and Beady Eye outside the fan base and most people think of him as a twat and a washed up degenerate or they have absolutely no idea who Beady Eye are. So if the band can pull out a good performance on this show then it'll definitely help their sales and also possibly help them pick up some new listeners.
