I don't agree with you. Quite frankly your an idiot. If Oasis were out then DOYS wouldn't have been #5. And TSOTL wouldn't have been #93 on the HOT 100 & #12 on the US Modern Rock chart. I think its just a matter of Oasis making sub par music. If Oasis came out with a song say like Don't Go Away or something along those line then it would def be a mega hit no matter how the current cool sound of music has changed. I mean if TSOTL could chart on the HOT 100 then anything could. I still think they would've charted higher if the The Turning had been released as the first single. I think if TSOLT went #93 then The Turning would def had been a Top 40 hit and once you get into the Top 40 then usually in the American charts momentum will pull you higher. I think with Oasis its a matter of bad decisions and sub par music. And charting also relates back to album sales. If say a single like The Turning would go Top 40 then the album sales would've increased. In America as in most places with music, its all about momentum. The first single is your momentum starter and you have to make the right descison. Oasis didnt make the right descision. If they had, even with a sub par album they would've been big again.

Kasabian may have the image, but they don't have the tunes. They're an ok band, don't get me wrong, but their songs are lacking something, not sure what, though.
Gorillaz are an experimental 'band' and credit to the project, but hardly amazing stuff.
MGMT better than Oasis 2000-2010? I'm not having that. Again, solid band, but can't even hold a candle to Oasis' b-sides during this decade.
Sure, Oasis declined for reasons mentioned in other threads, but this slow decline was not why Noel quit. After all, Oasis were regaining popularity from DBTT and DOYS! They should have released another album right away to build on that momentum instead of splitting!
Noel wants a longer break and a solo album, something all the other members didn't want, that's why he left.

Unkle feat Noel Galkagher on "The Answer" could be a perfect track.

Much respect, but your preaching will fall on deaf ears. I will agree though, all of those bands are fantastic, and hopefully Noel realizes it's time for a change in his music.

Kasabian are average at best, I don't care if they're friends with Noel. Broken Bells- I listened to that song, boring, listened again, still boring. MGMT- Got both their albums last week, just don't see the appeal past a few catchy pop tunes. Unkle- Have absolutely nothing in common with Oasis. Gorillaz- The only one on here that I'd pick over this millenium's Oasis output. What's prompted this sudden outburst?

And Noel's solo album will be the best work he's done in a long time, looking forward to that.

I agree to a point, some of the material they put out post-2000 was clearly below par.
But let's wait and see what Liam and Noel put out post-Oasis before judging whether they should quit or not.
I'm hoping for good things from Noel in particular.

I'd be fucking gutted if the Gallaghers quit making music to be honest. The only reason I'm not devastated about Oasis breaking up, is because I know that way we'll get twice as much music, than if they'd still stuck toghether. Another thing that you should try to keep in mind, Curlies, is that Oasis probably held both the Gallaghers back, as well as Gem & Andy. I'm certain that we'll get brilliant new albums from both camps. Like Idledreamer says, at least wait to jugde untill you hear the results, and if you don't like the results then, you can both tell them to fuck off
