To anyone who has been to a concert at the All State Arena: If I am in the upper level, can I get down to the floor? Do they police these things?

Yea, when i saw em at the UIC Pavillion in 2005, they had people at all the entrances checkin tickets, so they'll probably have that too at AllState

BTW, I checked shoeless joe's w-site and it appears that they "only" offer food packages, but are "willing to accomodate any party". So, with that in mind, let's try to get a FINAL tally here and see if I can work us out a "booze package". I'm of the opinion that it would be a lot easier to work out as "just" an alcohol special and let people buy food as they see fit. Who's familiar with this place, I'm assuming there's a bonifide bar area/party room? Many of these places want you to eat so they can rake in more cash (understandably). With the current economy, we could likely work around this, as they're more likey to take any business they can get. Please, someone speak to the viability of this place as a booze pre-party spot if they can. Perhaps a "drink coupon" affair or something of the sort would work well? How's that sound to everyone? I think food would just complicate the finances a bit too much at this point. My idea would be for perhaps a ten-drink coupon-deal, per-person, at X-amount of dollars? I've worked similar deals before at about half cost (20 bucks or so), so it beats the hell out of the full monty. This place seems to be a little more "corporate" though, so I can't make any guarantees. I could, after getting a head count, offer him a "minimum" food total that we'd meet. This is usually a non-issue. My 7 shitheads will probably eat there anyway. Other ideas? Let's at least give this a shot. NEW: FINAL COUNT FOR SHOELESS JOE's @/AROUND 5PM START AT THE END: 7 FOR CERTAIN So back to the topic at hand... 13-15 of us so far... 7 with start at the end's group 1 Oasisaregods 4-6 with lionsden and caro's group 1 Gavin

Here are their drink and food specials on Friday. They won't offer anything different because state law says if they offer it to one group they need to offer it to everyone. I made a reservation for 30 for the high top table area. These seats are to the left side when you walk into the place. They have enough room for up to 50 people in this area. Was the last place left since they already have other reservations. I made the reservation from 3pm to 7pm.
Corona & Corona Lite Bkts. 5 / $16.00 Three Olives Vodka (all flavors) $5.00 Pina Coladas $5.00 Chili Nachos $5.00 DINNER SPECIAL: Triple Play Fish Platter $15.99

Not sure if me or my group will be attending beforehand (well for more than 15 minutes or so) since we all work Friday and will be coming out from the city. Will know more by tonight - for a headcount. ---Anyone planning on sticking around Shoeless Joe's AFTER the show? THAT is where you get to bask in the post-show glory...!!! Let's 'ave it large. As for Chicago crowds; it'll probably be a beard-strokers type audience, as that's how most (indoor) American crowds are. I'd still take that over some piss-throwing English hooligans any day.

Yeah, nothing quite like piss-drenched clothes and hair to truly make a great gig.... How in the f#ck did that ever become popular over there... People used to mosh (mosh-pit) here in the states back in the grunge days, which could get rough, but I'd rather go home with a broken collar-bone than smelling like some jakey's pish...

Just look for a fat guy with glasses, and a Yankee cap.

Lions and my face are plastered in the pic thread in the lounge!
I'll be wearing a NYC DOYS 08 L4E tshirt (it's white) and I'm not american or english so you can hear a different accent I guess ;D
Jenny's pic is all over the place too and usually she's with Liam or Noel or Gem in the pictures ;D
Gavin has a few pics in the lounge as well but since he's scottish I'm sure it's easy to spot his accent haha ;D
