So what's the plan then? Is everyone meeting at Shoeless Joes at like 5pm or something?

FYI people- I just UPGRADED my tix to THIRD ROW on ebay...for $125 EACH! Well, well worth it in my opinion. I grabbed 4, he has 4 left as I type this. Just type in OASIS CHICAGO and look for it...easy enough to find.
I'm not trying to jump on you guys who have extra tix, but these are REAL close at a FANTASTIC price.
I now have SEVEN in my clan for Shoeless Joe's. That's for absolute certain. The other 2 are standing up in a good friends wedding that they completely forgot about.
Perhaps we should get a "NEW" count for Shoeless Joe's now?
I have no problem contacting the joint and attempting to garner a group rate once we have a number shored up.
Nothing to lose, and if they decide to cut us some $$$ slack, I won't complain.

Caro, what section are your seats in? How much for the tix? I (or friends) may be definitely interested. Thx. We have 2 tickets in section 102 Row C I believe. Not floor tickets, but not bad seats either. Tickets still available for face value!

I have my (4) up on c-list, but I'd rather sell them to someone here.
On the Floor, Sec 3, Row 27. $80 FACE. $50 each. I lose, you win. PM me if interested.

I thought you were going to go afterall.... Not going now? No, sorry for the confusion. More than likely I WILL be going. My mum gets the "final" word from the oncologist Thursday (as far as a definitive diagnosis and prognosis) but, I'm not expecting much to change. And that's "good", I guess. As for my tickets, I noted earlier that I upgraded to THIRD row after I cancelled Vegas and received rather "good" news about my mom. So, I now have my four original 27th row tix avail. Didn't mean to confuse anyone.

BTW, I checked shoeless joe's w-site and it appears that they "only" offer food packages, but are "willing to accomodate any party".
So, with that in mind, let's try to get a FINAL tally here and see if I can work us out a "booze package".
I'm of the opinion that it would be a lot easier to work out as "just" an alcohol special and let people buy food as they see fit. Who's familiar with this place, I'm assuming there's a bonifide bar area/party room? Many of these places want you to eat so they can rake in more cash (understandably). With the current economy, we could likely work around this, as they're more likey to take any business they can get.
Please, someone speak to the viability of this place as a booze pre-party spot if they can.
Perhaps a "drink coupon" affair or something of the sort would work well? How's that sound to everyone? I think food would just complicate the finances a bit too much at this point.
My idea would be for perhaps a ten-drink coupon-deal, per-person, at X-amount of dollars? I've worked similar deals before at about half cost (20 bucks or so), so it beats the hell out of the full monty. This place seems to be a little more "corporate" though, so I can't make any guarantees.
I could, after getting a head count, offer him a "minimum" food total that we'd meet. This is usually a non-issue. My 7 shitheads will probably eat there anyway.
Other ideas? Let's at least give this a shot.
NEW: FINAL COUNT FOR SHOELESS JOE's @/AROUND 5PM
START AT THE END: 7 FOR CERTAIN

To all the people going to Chicago, have a damn good time. Chicago is my favourite American city. I have some good friends in Chicago. It's a good working class city. Similar to Manchester in some respects. Im back out in Chicago next summer. (hopefully i can take in the Lollapolooza in Grant Park) Have a good one at the All State Arena

Unfortunately though Allstate arena is not even in the city, but way on the outskirts; so hopefully anyone coming from out of town will get to visit the city itself.

I pass Allstate Arena every time i come out of O'Hare.
It's a long way from the city.
Is the United Center to big for Oasis? That would be a better choice.

Well UC can fit about 25,000 while I think Allstate is around 20K, so not too much difference. Don't think they'd be able to sell out either one. I definitely wish they woulda played at UC, since I live about only a mile away from it.
