I read this today about Lebron and thought it couldn't have been better written (by Mark Starr) -
James, who is still just 22 years old after four years in the NBA, is one of those rare, overhyped high-school sensations who turned out to be better than advertised. (Today, of course, he would have been sentenced to one year in college before he was deemed NBA-ready.) He is the real and absolutely total deal—a three-fer with a point guard's ball-handling and passing skills, a small forward's inside-outside scoring flash and a power forward's brawn that allows him to shed defenders as he drives to the hoop.

He's pretty good, but he still has a tendency to not play at 100% sometimes. When he turns it on he's pretty amazing, like how he did in that game against Detroit.
I'd still take Kobe over him though.

ya Kobe has the experience factor in his favor, but I think he is way too selfish (as does everyone.) Imagine if LeBron had a legitimate 2nd threat and a 3rd threat off the bench, like Parker and Ginobili to Duncan. The Cav's are headed in the rit direction but need a bit more help!

God I hate Lebron. I think he's way overrated. I'll admit that, if it wasn't for him, the cavs would probably be one of the worst teams in the nba. I just think people give him to much credit. He's no good at 3's, alright at midrange shots, and the only thing he is really good at is taking it to the hole. He's a better than average player, but not the messiah that everyone mkes him out to be.

Give LeBron a few more years and the chance to get some decent teamates! Or, how bout a straight up trade TMac for LeBron?

I'd rather trade Lebron for Kobe. Or if Kobe came to the cavs, could you imagine how unstoppable that would be?

When you're Kobe Bryant you don't need to pass. That's how good he is. He's so good he raped a white chick, and got away.

Both Kobe and Lebron are on teams with terrible supporting casts. The cavs need a good PG that can make some plays for Lebron. You can't win with Lebron handling the ball the whole time.
Kobe needs a good inside player. Odom is ok but he's not good enough at playing inside. If somehow the Lakers can trade for Jermain O'neal or KG, then the lakers would be great.

neither was Kobe, Duncan, Shaq or MJ at 22 though. Give LeBron a few more years and the chance to get some decent teamates! Perfect example of this is Steve Nash. He wasnt always the MVP that he is now. When he started playing for The Suns, he just meshed well with his team and his full potential came out. Nash played for years in other teams without really even being noticeable.

i honestly thought that the lebron james hype was like the arctic monkeys. all hype with nothing to back it up. furthermore, the comparisons between him and michael jordan were a bit crazy at the time, considering the fact that he was playing against high schoolers, not professionals. because of that, i thought he would suck in the nba... boy, was i wrong.

H had some steler games back then!
